Information and Details about the Tourmaster Lawndale Jackets
made by Tour Master
Tourmaster Lawndale Jackets are longer length jackets, perfect for riding in inclement weather. With storm flaps to ensure the weather stays out and an inner liner that can be worn separately as a jacket or as a vest (due to zip off sleeves) you can adjust to whatever Mother Nature throws your way. With plenty of protection and vents built in, several pockets to store your belongings, this jacket will get you there in style every time. Add Tourmaster boots and attachable pants to the Lawndale Leather and you're covered head to toe while riding the back roads of freedom.

  • Classic, three-quarter length design top grade Buffalo leather jacket
  • External foam padded shoulder for comfort and protection
  • Pockets for optional CE approved armor at the elbow and shoulder are built into the jacket
  • Tour Master Zip-Out Quilted liner with warming 100g polyfill insulation with removable sleeves can also be worn as a vest
  • Triple and double stitched with high strength, bonded nylon thread
  • Chest vents combine with underarm sleeve vents and a rear exit vent to provide flow-through ventilation
  • Durable main zipper closure with dual wind flap seals out the elements
  • Adjustable waist straps to help fine tune the fit
  • Rotated sleeves for comfort in the riding position
  • Traditional chest and hand warmer pockets for ample storage
  • Two zippered hand warmer pockets, four bellows pockets and one internal pocket
  • Zippered chest mesh liner pocket
  • Includes a 8 inch jacket/pant zipper attachment with the pant side included

    Our Thoughts
The two colors are a little similar, the brown jacket is a very deep dark chocolate brown that it almost looks black and it has antique brass snaps while the black jacket has silver snaps. The leather is buffalo, which is on the unique side for a motorcycle jacket but leather has more of a vintage look and feel to it than typical cowhide. The jacket comes with a full sleeve thermal liner which comes in handy for colder weather usage. The entire liner comes out when you don't need it and you can even zip off the sleeves and turn it into a vest, to get a bit more climate control.

Lawandale jacket - bobhd01   MA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Very good quality, good fit.
Cons: lighter weight, good for 3 season wear.

Had a other brand 34 leather, this is as good a fit, very good quality. Easy to zip-out liner. Is a little on the light side, but a great jacket for the price.

Great value - stromrider   MA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: versatile, great ventilation
Cons: little fuller in the body than needed

I started wearing this jacket as soon as I got it and took it around the Gaspe peninsula and Ontario Highlands last summer. With the liner in and a fleece top underneath, it's good down to 50. Below that, I wear a heated liner and gloves. I also carry Froggs Toggs. I find that with layering, I'm covered in any weather. I've got a FG Kilimanjaro I only wear in cold weather on day rides. Otherwise, I grab the mesh jacket. I'm 5'8 and 175 lbs and the Medium is plenty big enough to layer.

Tourmaster Transition 3 - Rommel   CA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: great price, comfortable, durable , warm, lots of pockets
    Cons: none so far

I bought this to be used during cold days riding around and commuting in the San Francisco Bay area. When temperature dips down to mid 30's in the morning it kept me warm enough with just a t-shirt underneath. Used it when it was raining and kept me dry. The warmest it has gotten here so far was 70's. It's a ok with the liners with all the vents open. I'll test it more when it gets really warm. Size wise it's true to size. I wear a 44 and I bought a size large. plenty of straps which was great for fine adjustment and l like the numerous pocket.

    Pros: Great 3 season jacket
Cons: Two way zipper can be challenging at times

I've had this jacket for 10 months now and love it, great ventilation, warm with included liner, keeps you dry in light rain, I have not tried it in heavy rain yet. I like enough that I am considering ordering a second in different color.

Very very nice - makinlifehappen   MD Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Price, waterproof outer great for staying dry, and no mid liner, light for a 34 jacket
Cons: all the fasteners are velcro, it is easy and convenient, but can stick to itself in the wrong places

I love this jacket. Just ride for a little longer than 6 hours last night from Aberdeen MD to Chesapeake VA and in the low 50's at over 80 MPH on 95 South is when I finally started to get chili.Pulled over to fill up the tank, installed the quilted thermal liner, and did not have any issues the rest of the trip 3 hours ishI got the silver and black, the reflective piping is GREAT. can be seen from a very respectable distance. The hand warmer pockets could be larger. I will get another when and if this one wears out.

I love how the jacket feels right off the hanger. It is well constructed although a snap came off when I took the liner off. I'm glad it came with extra snaps. overall it performs very well letting air flow through keeping me comfortable yet protected. when the temps drop I have the liner and waterproof lining to keep me warm and dry. Pros: Light weight, High Visibility,Versitile

The Intake 3 has become my favorite riding jacket. From the Hi Vis color to the easily removable linings, this jacket does it all for me. the large size fits me quite well. I have a 44 chest.I also have an older Transition 2 jacket for the really cold days, but so far the Intake 3 has kept me warm down to 38-40 degrees. I would definitely recommend this jacket.

Pros: Very well made excellent value.
Cons: This coat is sized like clothes used to be in the usa.

I would order the mediun if i had it to do over. I am 5'10 185# and I can still put a heavy shirt under it. I really like the coat and the reason that i didnt return was that being able to add clothing under this coat I will be able to ride in 40 degree weather. But bottem line excellent coat like pockets and best air flow in mesh jacket that I have had. Would tell a friend

    Cons: none found yet

Nice Jacket - Paul   PA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Fits well, Airflow is Great.
    Cons: Zipper

This is a great jacket overall. The jacket actually fits well, which is a rarity in my case. I'm 6'6, 240lbs and typical tall sized cycle clothing is usually still way to short. The XLT size was perfect for me. Only complaint is the zipper has separated at the bottom twice on me while riding. Overall a great product for the money.

Air 3 - Kneekaps   PA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Light, cool and well made
Cons: Inside connecting zippers a little flimsy

Great jacket This is my second Tourmaster jacket and because of the first I bought this one. No regretts. Road a 1,000 miles a couple weekends ago in nice warm weather and the jacket was as cool as a mesh jacket can be. Really is a nice jacket. The only minor con are the inside zippers. They are a little flimsy and like to come a part easily, but once you get use to them it is no biggy. It is a great jacket

Pros: Fits great, air flow is as good as it gets, lots of features
    Cons: None so far...

I usually get the joe rocket Phoenix jackets, but this was around the same price so I thought I would try it. Glad I did. It is a little big on me without the liner and under-jacket, but that just let's more air flow when moving. The padding stays in place very well. Most importantly, the zipper works very well. Tons of pockets

Great jacket - robotman28   PA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Warm, close fitting, ventilation, zipper seals are great
Cons: main zipper is stiff when new

I have been riding in the early spring weather in PA with this jacket. I had the previous model of the jacket some years ago and loved it. This model fits the arms better and is just as air tight. The collar on these is also really nice, makes a good seal around the neck without chafe. I have not ridden in rain but the last one worked pretty well for wet riding. I had a Harley Electra Glide when I was using the previous model Tourmaster Transition. Now I am riding a Triumph Sprint ST which is more of a sport touring bike. I am in the wind a lot more on this bike and the jacket really works. I unzipped two of the front vents on the jacket on one ride and had to stop immediately and zip them back up because I was freezing They will be great in the summer. I was riding in 45 degree weather that day. I bought an extra large tall and it fits just right with the liner in. I am 6'-2 and 250# with a big gut. On the bike while riding it is loose enough to be comfortable but not flap at all. Well worth the money in my opinion.

Air 3 - Doc   OH Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Very well designed and constructed
    Cons: None

I don't often review products but this jacket deserves one. I ordered this Fri and received it todayTues so kudos to CA for fast shipping. On to the jacket. First, sizing I'm 5'11 175 lbs and wear a 42 jacket. My arms are slightly long 34 sleeve. The medium as recommended in the sizing chart fits perfectly, with the liners in it was snug but not tight and the sleeves are perfect length. However, as another reviewer noted the sleeves aren't large. So if you are heavier or have large arms you might want to go with the large size. Second, construction. It is very well made using high quality materials. There are some very nice touches the cuffs are bell shaped allowing gloves to be worn outside or inside the sleeve. Large outside pockets and many inside pockets. The waterproof liner is lined with soft mesh making it very comfortable. the padded tail is long enough to cover your lower back when leaning forward. All of the protectors should provide good protection and were in the right places, no adjustment required. They aren't race grade but should be more than adequate for the road hopefully I'll never get the chance to test them. The mesh has a larger area then my other jacket, the Teknic supervent so it should give even better airflow on hot daysAll in all this is a very good jacket which will be suitable for three season use. I am very happy that i bought it. and would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Pros: light weight, great protection, very warm, tons of vents, great build quality
Cons: no rain hood, no zipper expansion at cuffs.

First and for most i would like to thank COMPACC, originally had purchased the sliders quest 4 jacket but due to a manufacturer defect had to return the jacket. COMPACC contacted me immediately upon receipt of my jacket to inform me they did not have any more of my size and would not be receiving any more. They offered the transition to me as a replacement, thank you for your great customer service I have been using this jacket for 2 months now in a variety of weather from mid thirties to high seventies. The jacket has preformed flawlessly. Right out of the box i noticed the jacket to be substantially lighter than the quest, and assorted to have a little more build quality. Size was true to fit. So far this jacket has offered, and preformed as advertised Will be able to provide a follow up after a few more month's. So far so good awesome product would recommend to all

Pros: Excellent air flow, Hi-VIz is BRIGHT, very comfortable.
    Cons: None yet.

This jacket gets more comfortable the more you wear it. Good quality, very good aire flow without the liners and very good warmth and wind protection with the liners. I have not had the opportunity to test the water proof liner yet. The Hi-Viz really pops and I notice people SEEING me. The longer sleeves annoyed me at first bu they do cover your wristsgloves nice when it is cooler. I am very happy with this jacket and would highly recommend it as a very good 3 season jacket.

Pros: Large fits well, comfortable and attractive
Cons: Lining is cumbersome to remove and attach

The garment is well made and comfortable. It looks like the photo and the large fits me well. The jacket permits good freedom of movement and the armor stays in place. The lining is a bit cumbersome to remove and attach but not a major issue.

Mesh for nearly all year - Trepidator   WA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Hi-Vis really stands out, more than most. Liner almost makes it fallspring too.
Cons: Main zipper a little fidgety to get engaged.

I bought this thinking it would be for just the hottest days. Now I wear it on many other days because it is easy to just use a pullover to make it a bit warmer, or not when sun has been on pavement awhile. As winter approaches, the liner with a pullover or two make this an equivalent of a heavier jacket. It should be purchased with some extra space. That helps air flow around the chest, and leaves room for those pullovers when airflow is not so critical.

TM Intake Air3 Jacket - Mike   PA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Well made
Cons: sleeves a bit tight with liners

This is a well made mesh jacket with very good protection for the money. The only gripe I have is the sleeves are tight with the liners in. They have snap cinches on the forearms to adjust them, but they are completely useless. The forearms are just right on the loosest adjustment wo the liners in. I'm 5'10' & 195lbs. The large is perfect otherwise. If you plan to use this as a 3 season jacket with the liners, you may want to go up a size. I bought this as a summer only mesh jacket and am happy with it.

cool jacket - goezy007   CA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Fit, pockets
    Cons: sleeve length very long

Jacket does a great job with airflow. If riding on a cool morning 60's I have found have something around the neck helps and a long sleeve. Otherwise it is a chilly ride. Yes summers in CA do get chilly, especially on San Francisco Peninsula.Fit & finish is good. Jacket is comfortable. I recently rode in the Sacramento CA area - 100degrees - and was not hot. Looks like it maybe a 3 season jacket. I ride all year & my other TourMaster jacket Transition 3 is waterproof - without the waterpoof liner like this jacket. I ride a F6B Honda Goldwing Cruiser - full faring. A minor warning. I am 6'4' with 38' sleeve length and wear a 3x. The 3x regular jacket sleeves are way to long even for me. That is why 4 and not 5 stars.

Nice Jacket - Lubedude   TX Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Nice lookng jacket . Quality seems first rate.
Cons: Fit is a little bit over size. The jacket is heavier than it looks, but probably because of the first grade material.

I like the jacket. It is first rate. I have received compliments on the look. The jacket is a bit bulky and the sleeves seem a little longer than necessary. Have not worn the jacket with the liners both in, although they were in when I tried it on. I am afraid a smaller size would not allow me to wear with the liners installed.

Jacket - Steve   AZ Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Quality, look, feel of inner liner. Contour of jacket. Very warm. Used it while snowmobiling and was very warm
Cons: Neck area seems a little tight. Would like a longer Velcro strap on neck area for sure.

If your not sure of the sizing, go up a size. I went with XL because I was between two sizes and I'm glad I went bigger. The waist straps take up a good portion of extra jacket material that you may have. Also wished the neck area was bigger. The Velcro strap for it is short in my opinion. Needs to be longer for people with thick necks. Very glad I bought this jacket. Very comfortable and warm. The price was great for the quality jacket you get. Well worth the money.

This is my third Tourmaster Transition 1 for wife, 2 for me. Several improvements to the venting. Replaced collar snap with velcro. Luckily I lost 20 pounds since I bought the Transition 1 or this one would have been too small 6' 1, 195 lbs now. Large Tall is a perfect fit with the liner installed - not sure I can get my heated vest under it.I had my last one for 5 years before is started fading and I broke the zipper pull. Great jacket for riding in cold and cool weather.

Pros: Good value, nice construction, looks good.
Cons: wearing all three layers changes the sizing mesh has no crash resistance

I like and recommend this jacket for comfort, fit and looks, but there are a few problems I am replacing a mediumtall with another mediumtall after a minor low-side really chewed up the mesh part of the sleeve. My first jacket fit perfectly, but the second replacement one is too long in the sleeves. Did Tourmaster change the sizing of the talls Also, if you buy one that fits without the three layers, it won't fit WITH the three layers, so even though that inner warmth layer seems like a good idea, I never use mine. Also the velcro strap around the cuff wears out way too soon. Still, all things considered it's a good jacket.

Pros: Great fit. Warm in the very cool and cool in the warm
    Cons: Inside zippers

I love this jacket I have worn it when temperatures were down in the low 30s and was warm with the liners. I have also worn it in warm 80 degree days and was very comfortable. My only complaint is the zippers to hold the liners in are small and i have had them split from the bottom on a few different occasions. However it is always easy to get them back apart and fix. I generally wear a large and that is what I ordered for the jacket. It is a great fit. Very true to size.

Good results with Transition 2 - SugarHillCTD   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Good at varied temperatures, good in lighter wet conditions
Cons: Velcro could be longer lasting

For the price, a really good jacket. I used mine as my only jacket for 4 years and it has held up pretty well. Wife had to replace my collar velcro last year and now the cuff velcro is getting weak. But no other material problems so far. Cuff material has just started to fray slightly.Wife's identical jacket still looks great- but she logs many less miles than I do- she is a passenger only.In the time we have had these jackets, we only had part of one single day where they were too hot- and it was over 100F. Lining out and vents open normally keeps us cool, and we always ride ATGATT OK, probably 99 of the time.I am buying the Transition 3.

Overall, pretty good - saabguy85   UT Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: good ventilation, along with good wind-stopping, waterproof in light rain.
Cons: VERY snug fit, no room for another layer beyond the quilted liner.

The good for the price, a very well made piece of riding gear. Took it out today in not-very-warm weather. Ventilation seems adequate, no cold spots like with a full mesh jacket. It does seem to balloon and flutter, as though, with all 4 vents open at freeway speed, the exhaust vent can't handle the incoming air, and you can feel the bike reacting to that. BUT, and it's a large but, it is cut very snug. Someone needs to tell Tourmaster that a 46 Tall is NOT a 46. I've never worn anything larger than a 44, but with the quilted liner in I'd be hard-pressed to fit even a very light down jacket under this coat. So, not really 4 seasons, but very adequate for 3 season use.

As Advertised - Sandmann   MD Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Kept me dry in the rain, kept me warm when it got to 42 degrees, kept me well ventilated in the heat
Cons: The black portion of the sleeve faded from the sun. Not sure if this is normal wear

First riding jacket I've owned. In fact my wife and I both have this jacket which we were using for a cross country trip this summer. I was concerned about them being to hot, after I figured out where all the vents were there was a lot of air moving through you at highway speed. We got as cool as 42 degrees and even without the liner I was warm enough to stay comfortable. We never had an all day rain to go through, but the 4-5 hr rains we rode through we stayed dry, including the pockets. The black areas on the sleeves faded from the sun,not sure if thats normal. Overall both jackets performed well and I would buy them again and recommend them to anyone needing a complete jacket system and doesn't want to pay a lot more than the price of this jacket. The only reason I gave it a 4 star and not a 5 star is because of the fading on the sleeve. Some people may not like that.

    Pros: Versatile, well-made, good quality
    Cons: Complicated attachment, very heavy

As with all Tourmaster products, this is a very well-made garment. This is proven in the weight of the garment. It is very heavy. The reflective material on the jacket, while slim, is very visible when light strikes it. The 1st thing I did when I received this was to remove the liners. The liners are a waterproof liner and a thermal liner which can be used individually or together. While Tourmaster marks the connectors in white and gray to differentiate them, this is not a jacket that you want to be putting together on the road. The many zippers and hook and loop connectors that are used to make the jacket so good 10 to make putting it together a pain in the ass. Thus, most people use this as a summer jacket and a winter jacket while not bothering to play with it in spring and fall.I would guess that trying to put the rain liner in while on the road will be complicated and neither is quick nor easy as putting on a rain jacket.

Sizing and quality issues - Bob Landry   UT Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Does what it's supposed to do, within limits
    Cons: Some quality issues

Someone should tell Tourmaster's producers that an XL Tall size should actually BE an XL Tall size. The cut is so tight, that adding another layer under the quilted liner would be difficult if not impossible, and I'm talking about something relatively compressible like a down vest or even a sweatshirt. The sleeves are cut so tightly that the adjustment straps on my fairly skinny arms are totally unnecessary, even without the quilted liner, when wearing just a sweatshirt. Also, for some reason, the jacket billows out in the back with or without the vents being open, at freeway speeds. This is so forceful that, the first time it happened, it affected the handling of the bike. Now I am continually worried about this on my freeway commutes. As to overall quality, the jacket arrived with both sleeve armors installed upside-down. There is no velcro at the collar closure, making its too-short tab totally useless. There were dangling threads at many of the seams. This product needs some serious scrutiny by Tourmaster.Recommended with caution.

    RSorrell
I had a Series 2 for daily riding 5 days a week for over 3 years and decided to get the Series 3, since the zipper pull on my Series 2 broke, bad mistake. I ordered and received the same size but the Series 3 runs SMALL for starters. Then with the exception of them changing the collar and sleeve closures which are alittle nicer there doesn't seem to be any change. Actually if you ride with something around your neck the new closure might not close as it is short. Also seems like the outside pocket openings are smaller.

If you do not have a jacket then this is a great jacket but if you have a series 2 and it is still in riding condition then keep it.

I wish I could send it back but I have ridden with it a couple of times.
Oh they shipped mine with two elbow protectors in the left sleeve just one in the right so much for quality control.

Not as good as reviews suggest... - dDT   Recommended by Reviewer: No
Pros: Good fit, nice features, reasonably waterproof
Cons: Very thin shell, junk armor

I read several reviews of this jacket before buying it, including a glowing one from WebBikeWorld, so I was pretty excited to buy one...until I got it.The good it fits well, and the design is good re features, zippers, pockets, liner, etc. I have no issues in any of these areas...but...The bad The primary reason I buy motorcycle gear is protection. If it's not effective in crash protection, then there is no reason to buy it. This jacket has some of the cheesiest armor I've seen in any jacket, the back protector is a thin slab of foam, and the shell is very very thin. Even the double fabric areas are way too thin. I have been around the block a few times in the 25 years I've been riding courier riding, racing, etc and I am pretty certain that this jacket would explode if the wearer crashed in it at any sort of speed.I bought this to replace the FG Kilimanjaro that became too big when I lost some weight. That jacket was way more sturdy, had much better armor, and in general, was a jacket that would have a shot at protecting you in a crash.NOTE The Sliders Quest 4 jacket is about 900 better than this one, and it's cheaper. Sadly, the 3XL was a little small for me, so I had to send it back and get this POS. If you're looking at this, go look at the Sliders Quest 4 instead. It is superior in every way including price.
