Tourmaster Solution 2.0 BootsHey guys, this is Reuben with Competition Accessories. Welcome to our review of the Tourmaster Solution 2.0. Now the solution 2.0 and the original Tourmaster Solution boots have been some of the most popular waterproof boot styles that we have sold here at Competition Accessories. Now the Tourmaster Solution 2.0 has been out for a little while now and weve had a chance to really put it through its paces, try it on, see how it fits, how it feels, how long it lasts, and we have been really impressed. Weve got tons of customer reviews on our website if you want to jump on there at the end of this video and read some customer feedback on them. The best thing about them is the price. These are not going to break the bank. They retail for 119 bucks and we sell them for under 110 so you can jump on there and see what our current price is but theyre a really, really valuable boot for the money. Im definitely very impressed. The other thing thats really attractive about the Solution 2.0 is its going to work for such a huge variety of riders whether youre a commuter thats on the bike everyday, or if your planning a longer trip where you dont know what kind of weather your going to encounter the Solution 2.0 is going to work just great. Even this style of boot can work well for a sport bike guy if your not looking for the ultimate protection and not going to the track all the time the Solution 2.0 is great option for you guys in that segment also. One thing that I really like about it, obviously, is it has a built in HiPora Membrane, which is going to be waterproof, thats the key feature for it. I will open the boot up here you will see that there is a Velcro flap thats going to cover the main zipper. There is Velcro on the end of the zipper as well which helps hold the zipper pull up in place. And then you see that internal waterproof membrane this gusset underneath the zipper here extends pretty much all the way to the top of the boot. What that does for you is its going to prevent water from coming in behind the zipper here and even if you were to ride through some big puddles where water is washing up over your feet, as long as water doesnt get over the top of the boot and run down inside these are going to do a great job of keeping your feet dry. Now HiPora has some really neat properties to it. It not only keeps the water out, its also a very breathable material, so for those warmer days when your feet might be getting a little hotter, it does a fairly good job of breathing and allowing your foot to breath so its not super hot. Now I will say any waterproof boot, if its 90 degrees out and middle of summer, your feet are probably going to get a little toasty in them. But the flip side of that is if you do get caught in the rain theyre going to keep your feet nice and dry and in cold weather obviously it helps block a bit more wind and keep your feet nice and warm inside the boot. The inside is lined with a nice soft material they do have what they call their Techno GI thermoplastic heel cup and toecap. So you have a heel cup around the back here thats inside the boot for support and protection. The toe box is reinforced as well, thats going to keep it nice and comfortable when shifting but also add some protection as well if you were to go down, tumble and hit the front of your foot on something thats going to help reinforce that area and keep you comfortable. Some built in armor over the anklebone, thats there not only for impact protection but also for abrasion resistance. Obviously leather does a good job but if you were to go down, your foot is underneath your bike its going to help prevent any wear or damage to your ankle and your foot inside the boot. On the sole of the boot you have some nice tread design. I really like the sole of the solution 2s cause theyre really comfortable off the bike also, so if youre like me and ride some events whether its bike night or some kind of open house or charity fund-raiser type of event or your riding somewhere then your off the bike walking around for hours, you know the last thing you need is a really stiff uncomfortable boot thats really hurting your feet all day long. So these boots are going to give you really sure footing but they are also fairly flexible so you can walk around in comfort. The foot bed that they use inside these is orthopedic, has some arch support in it, and it also absorbs vibration so if your bike has a little bit of buzz in the foot pegs or anything these are going to help absorb that as well. If you want to look down here at my foot, I actually have one of the Solution 2s on my foot and you can see what it looks like with jeans on. Very comfortable boot, as far as sizing goes, I pretty much always wear a size 10 or a 44. No different with the Solution 2. They are just right, I would say if you are kind of in between sizes especially if you have a slightly wider foot you probably want to go up a size. But I typically take a size 10 sometimes I have to go up a size 10.5 in tennis shoes depending on the width but on these particular ones I find that I can wear the size 10 and they fit just right so very comfortable as far as flexibility goes. You can walk around as I mentioned all day long in comfort in the Solution 2.0 and again you cant beat that price for under 120 bucks youre getting a fully featured waterproof motorcycle boot. So check out these Solution 2.0s from Tourmaster on our website, at competitionaccessories.com and dont forget most of your orders here at competition accessories are going to ship for free and you can earn up to 5% comp-a-cash back to use toward future purchases. Our Thoughts:
The intake 3 jacket really has the features needed for a rider looking to have one jacket to cover most riding conditions. If MOST conditions is usually in warm or hot weather. In hot weather the tourmaster intake 3 functions much like a mesh jacket. The mesh on the intake allows a large amount of air to come in to the jacket and really keeps you cool. In fact we think because it keeps the sun off your skin you actually are cooler than when riding with just a t-shirt on. ( that assumes you are moving, it is still hot if sitting still ). The intake 3 jacket does give you a LOT more protection than a t-shirt with its CE approved elbow and shoulder armor, plus its triple density back armor. ( all removable / upgradable ). When the weather gets wet or cool you can put in the rain liner. The rain liner on the Tourmaster intake 3 really blocks the water, but also block the wind. So in a lot of just mildly cool weather situations, the rain liner will due just fine. Then you can always add the thermal liner to the jacket if the weather is really getting colder. When using both the waterproof liner and the thermal in particular is it makes the jacket fit tighter ( see sizing below ). Just like you were adding a sweatshirt under a outer jacket ( layering right! ). So just keep that in mind when ordering. Over all the jacket works very good. Another jacket to consider for more of a all-around textile jacket with vents is the Tourmaster Transition 3 Jacket

Sizing Help for the Intake 3 Jacket:
Like other jackets with a 2 part liner the Tourmaster Intake 3 uses the aqua-therm liner, which consists of a waterproof and a thermal liner. By having these 2 liners the jacket is a tighter in fit when they are installed vs when they are not. When both liners are installed, the jacket is pretty consistent with the sizing listed on the chart. But when you remove the liners the jacket is probably a 1 size larger then indicated on the chart. If you are probably not going to use the liners or very rarely use them on the intake jacket, then you should probably consider going down a size. However if you are going to use the thermal liner frequently, you should use the sizes as listed. The Tall jackets are about 2 inches longer in the sleeve ( measured from shoulder seem to end of arm ) than the regular sizes. So if you only sometimes need a tall, then we suggest the regular. However, if you usually need a tall, then go for the tall size. If you are really unsure you can always order 2 sizes and just return the one that does not fit to save time and shipping.

Happy customer - JeanieT   AL Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: wore it today in 90 temp and the air flow was very good.
    Cons: none

Bought this jacket for mostly summer riding since I live in AL. Today the jacket was very comfortable on a hot and humid day. I wear a X small and it is a slightly loose fit without the liners. l have not tried it in the rain or in cold weather yet.

The intake 3 is perfect for 3 season riding - Sally R   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: keeps me cool, good sizing, good style
    Cons: [None]

The Intake 3 jacket is very comfortable in the summer, fall and spring. The jacket really allows a ton of air to flow through the mesh and keeps me cool when moving. The price is right and the jacket has CE armor too.. I really like its look and style and feel as protected as is possible when riding in it.

Great value - stromrider   MA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: versatile, great ventilation
Cons: little fuller in the body than needed

I started wearing this jacket as soon as I got it and took it around the Gaspe peninsula and Ontario Highlands last summer. With the liner in and a fleece top underneath, it's good down to 50. Below that, I wear a heated liner and gloves. I also carry Froggs Toggs. I find that with layering, I'm covered in any weather. I've got a FG Kilimanjaro I only wear in cold weather on day rides. Otherwise, I grab the mesh jacket. I'm 5'8 and 175 lbs and the Medium is plenty big enough to layer.

Great fit - jdelong   VA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Fit perfectly, plents of vents for warm weather riding, nice liner for cool weather
Cons: a little scratchy around the neck

This is my first purchase of motorcycle gear. I'm a size 12 and the Large fit perfectly. Wore it between mid 40's to almost 70 with the liner in and was just fine. I find the collar scratchy on my neck - I'll just wear a scarf next time.

Sizing Choice - Jerry from Ohio   OH Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: The features of this jacket are great. Very well constructed.
    Cons: [None]

Ordered this jacket because of the Rip-Stop material. Have had a Rip-Stop hunting jacket for over 20 years and not one rip in it after much hunting. Just received this rain jacket yesterday. Very well satisfied with the jacket itself. Quality seems to be very acceptable. From the inside out I like it. However, the sizing charts are not accurate. I have a 43 chest so ordered an XS jacket. WOW Won't work. Front doesn't come together to zip unless I pull it tight and then no room for even a light jacket. I would say you need to order closer to your regular size of jacket like a medium or large, whatever you wear. The inch sizing just don't get it. Will be returning mine for a bigger size.

The Intake 3 has become my favorite riding jacket. From the Hi Vis color to the easily removable linings, this jacket does it all for me. the large size fits me quite well. I have a 44 chest.I also have an older Transition 2 jacket for the really cold days, but so far the Intake 3 has kept me warm down to 38-40 degrees. I would definitely recommend this jacket.

I would order the mediun if i had it to do over. I am 5'10 185# and I can still put a heavy shirt under it. I really like the coat and the reason that i didnt return was that being able to add clothing under this coat I will be able to ride in 40 degree weather. But bottem line excellent coat like pockets and best air flow in mesh jacket that I have had. Would tell a friend

Nice Jacket - Paul   PA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Fits well, Airflow is Great.
    Cons: Zipper

This is a great jacket overall. The jacket actually fits well, which is a rarity in my case. I'm 6'6, 240lbs and typical tall sized cycle clothing is usually still way to short. The XLT size was perfect for me. Only complaint is the zipper has separated at the bottom twice on me while riding. Overall a great product for the money.

Pros: Light, cool and well made
Cons: Inside connecting zippers a little flimsy

Great jacket This is my second Tourmaster jacket and because of the first I bought this one. No regretts. Road a 1,000 miles a couple weekends ago in nice warm weather and the jacket was as cool as a mesh jacket can be. Really is a nice jacket. The only minor con are the inside zippers. They are a little flimsy and like to come a part easily, but once you get use to them it is no biggy. It is a great jacket

    Pros: compact storage, function.
    Cons: none

I rode through a good rain today and the jacket did its job. After the sun came back out it was to warm over my mesh jacket , so back in the tank bag it went. Overall the Sentinel did the job. Comfortable, light it's made to wear over your armored gear so size up a notch.

Pros: Fits great, air flow is as good as it gets, lots of features
    Cons: None so far...

I usually get the joe rocket Phoenix jackets, but this was around the same price so I thought I would try it. Glad I did. It is a little big on me without the liner and under-jacket, but that just let's more air flow when moving. The padding stays in place very well. Most importantly, the zipper works very well. Tons of pockets

Pros: Gives a feeling of protection without the heat of leather.
Cons: I should have ordered 2X and 3X to get the best sizing.

I was looking to ride with more protection but my leather was to hot for summer comfort. The tourmaster jacket fills that need, I seem to be stuck between an XXL and a XXXL and went with the 3X. I like the jacket for the reasons stated and may order the 2X for comparison. Excellent quality, price shipping.

Air 3 - Doc   OH Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Very well designed and constructed
    Cons: None

I don't often review products but this jacket deserves one. I ordered this Fri and received it todayTues so kudos to CA for fast shipping. On to the jacket. First, sizing I'm 5'11 175 lbs and wear a 42 jacket. My arms are slightly long 34 sleeve. The medium as recommended in the sizing chart fits perfectly, with the liners in it was snug but not tight and the sleeves are perfect length. However, as another reviewer noted the sleeves aren't large. So if you are heavier or have large arms you might want to go with the large size. Second, construction. It is very well made using high quality materials. There are some very nice touches the cuffs are bell shaped allowing gloves to be worn outside or inside the sleeve. Large outside pockets and many inside pockets. The waterproof liner is lined with soft mesh making it very comfortable. the padded tail is long enough to cover your lower back when leaning forward. All of the protectors should provide good protection and were in the right places, no adjustment required. They aren't race grade but should be more than adequate for the road hopefully I'll never get the chance to test them. The mesh has a larger area then my other jacket, the Teknic supervent so it should give even better airflow on hot daysAll in all this is a very good jacket which will be suitable for three season use. I am very happy that i bought it. and would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Pros: Easy to carry, breathable, price, quality.
    Cons: [None]

It's very difficult to fin the right riding gear when you live in FL. You know, here rains in Summer, so my rain coat got to protect from water and heat. Most of the rain gear is made for Winter and makes you sweat in Summer, so you get wet anyways. I love the fact this jacket is light and got an awesome breathability, is easy to put on in a hurry on a quick stop on the side of the road when you see those thunderstorms in the horizon and I got the matching pants also. I had the opportunity to test it a couple of times under heavy rain and kept me dry and comfortable. I would recommend it to anybody to wear it over your normal jacket.

excellent product - tghgmc   AA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: warm, waterproof, well vented, storage
Cons: hook and loop at neck

I have had the transition II for six years and could not wear it out I finally replaced it because it was looking warn stains in the gray fabric and, well, because I like gear This jacket has seen wear in all extremes Temps in the twenties in Northern Japan to temps above 100 in Texas and so forth. The vent system is excellent and scoops tremendous air on hot days. This can also be a con as all that air scooping will act like a parachute on a naked bike. On my VFR however I never experienced this problem. In the heat, with the liner out and at a stop the jacket can be hot as with any layers of material but not nearly as hot as my leather jacket. Durability is also excellent and not a single functioning part of the jacket ever failed over six years. Even the phospholite reflective material functioned as designed without much degradation in over 40,000 miles of riding, all seasons, lots of rain and an end of season wash for cleaning. The jacket is also waterproof as advertised but the air and water will get in the neck. A neck gator or an under helmet hood would have made this jacket 100 complete but lacking that you will need a neck gator or balaclava for a lot of wet cold riding to remain comfortable. The pockets are well placed, well thought out AND also waterproof. No worries about the ipod or phone in the rain The key pocket in the left arm is very handy and I never used it for a key but did use it for small bills and change on toll roads and my ID card credit card so I did not have to keep a bulky wallet on me.

This jacket gets more comfortable the more you wear it. Good quality, very good aire flow without the liners and very good warmth and wind protection with the liners. I have not had the opportunity to test the water proof liner yet. The Hi-Viz really pops and I notice people SEEING me. The longer sleeves annoyed me at first bu they do cover your wristsgloves nice when it is cooler. I am very happy with this jacket and would highly recommend it as a very good 3 season jacket.

Pros: Hi-Vis really stands out, more than most. Liner almost makes it fallspring too.
Cons: Main zipper a little fidgety to get engaged.

I bought this thinking it would be for just the hottest days. Now I wear it on many other days because it is easy to just use a pullover to make it a bit warmer, or not when sun has been on pavement awhile. As winter approaches, the liner with a pullover or two make this an equivalent of a heavier jacket. It should be purchased with some extra space. That helps air flow around the chest, and leaves room for those pullovers when airflow is not so critical.

This is a well made mesh jacket with very good protection for the money. The only gripe I have is the sleeves are tight with the liners in. They have snap cinches on the forearms to adjust them, but they are completely useless. The forearms are just right on the loosest adjustment wo the liners in. I'm 5'10' & 195lbs. The large is perfect otherwise. If you plan to use this as a 3 season jacket with the liners, you may want to go up a size. I bought this as a summer only mesh jacket and am happy with it.

cool jacket - goezy007   CA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Fit, pockets
    Cons: sleeve length very long

Jacket does a great job with airflow. If riding on a cool morning 60's I have found have something around the neck helps and a long sleeve. Otherwise it is a chilly ride. Yes summers in CA do get chilly, especially on San Francisco Peninsula.Fit & finish is good. Jacket is comfortable. I recently rode in the Sacramento CA area - 100degrees - and was not hot. Looks like it maybe a 3 season jacket. I ride all year & my other TourMaster jacket Transition 3 is waterproof - without the waterpoof liner like this jacket. I ride a F6B Honda Goldwing Cruiser - full faring. A minor warning. I am 6'4' with 38' sleeve length and wear a 3x. The 3x regular jacket sleeves are way to long even for me. That is why 4 and not 5 stars.

Nice Jacket - Lubedude   TX Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Nice lookng jacket . Quality seems first rate.
Cons: Fit is a little bit over size. The jacket is heavier than it looks, but probably because of the first grade material.

I like the jacket. It is first rate. I have received compliments on the look. The jacket is a bit bulky and the sleeves seem a little longer than necessary. Have not worn the jacket with the liners both in, although they were in when I tried it on. I am afraid a smaller size would not allow me to wear with the liners installed.

Pros: Does it's job well, kept me dry in a couple of heavy downpours
Cons: It's hot and looks terrible off the bike

The jacket should work really well doing its job to get a rider dry and I think I'll be happy to wear it once it gets cooler, but summer months when it rains and then the sun comes out and it gets really warm, you have to stop and take it off real quick. Sleeves are loose with nothing but a tshirt, but should fit real well over a jacket. Also has the strangest caboose fitting in the back and it's straight down like the front pics I guess they made it fit over a fanny pack or someone trying to conceal carry.

Pros: good for all weather ridiing comfort
Cons: Looks bulky with shoulder & elbow padding

I have an older model, blackwhite. Good all season riding jacket. Zip in liners sufficient for earlylate season riding comfort. Zip out liners for riding in warmer weather with protection.

Pros: Good quality, good price, quick free delivery
Cons: A bit smaller than I thought they would be.

Just got a new bike, can't ride to work unless I can carry my stuff lunch, some paperwork, maybe a carafe of coffee,, etc Looked online for inexpensive saddle bags and ordered these. They're pretty good but a bit small another brand at the same price was bigger - some buyer's remorse but these work well and hold enough if I am creative. Well made, good features. If I were going on a trip, they'd be too small.

Pros: Good value, nice construction, looks good.
Cons: wearing all three layers changes the sizing mesh has no crash resistance

I like and recommend this jacket for comfort, fit and looks, but there are a few problems I am replacing a mediumtall with another mediumtall after a minor low-side really chewed up the mesh part of the sleeve. My first jacket fit perfectly, but the second replacement one is too long in the sleeves. Did Tourmaster change the sizing of the talls Also, if you buy one that fits without the three layers, it won't fit WITH the three layers, so even though that inner warmth layer seems like a good idea, I never use mine. Also the velcro strap around the cuff wears out way too soon. Still, all things considered it's a good jacket.

Nice fit - KHall   IN Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Great fit. Warm in the very cool and cool in the warm
    Cons: Inside zippers

I love this jacket I have worn it when temperatures were down in the low 30s and was warm with the liners. I have also worn it in warm 80 degree days and was very comfortable. My only complaint is the zippers to hold the liners in are small and i have had them split from the bottom on a few different occasions. However it is always easy to get them back apart and fix. I generally wear a large and that is what I ordered for the jacket. It is a great fit. Very true to size.

    Pros: Look nice, feel decent.
Cons: Glove size at least one size smaller than tag indicates.

These gloves were a pretty good bargain and look really nice but,...they are at least one size smaller than indicated on the tag. I have big hands, so I ordered the 2XLs. When I first put them on, they felt like Larges. Since they are leather, I know they will eventually stretch and they have after riding a few hundred miles, but not quite to the point of where I find I like my gloves to be.

Nice fitting gloves, true to size. Not for temps below 60 degrees. Soft leather, BUT leaves your hands blackened from the dyes.

Intake Air 3 - Phil O'Hagan   NY Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Versatile, well-made, good quality
    Cons: Complicated attachment, very heavy

As with all Tourmaster products, this is a very well-made garment. This is proven in the weight of the garment. It is very heavy. The reflective material on the jacket, while slim, is very visible when light strikes it. The 1st thing I did when I received this was to remove the liners. The liners are a waterproof liner and a thermal liner which can be used individually or together. While Tourmaster marks the connectors in white and gray to differentiate them, this is not a jacket that you want to be putting together on the road. The many zippers and hook and loop connectors that are used to make the jacket so good 10 to make putting it together a pain in the ass. Thus, most people use this as a summer jacket and a winter jacket while not bothering to play with it in spring and fall.I would guess that trying to put the rain liner in while on the road will be complicated and neither is quick nor easy as putting on a rain jacket.

Jacket ok, pants no... - 5050   TX Recommended by Reviewer: No
Pros: Fairly warm jacket keeps you dry.
Cons: cheaply made. poor design. pants are not waterproof.

The jacket is fine... I wear a liner that I have from another jacket under this one and I'm good down to 33 degrees... or even more possibly... but 33 degrees is my cut off point for riding, any lower in temp and my tires don't get hot enough, you understand, I have yet to have any water seepage with the jacket, and I've ridden in some fairly heavy downpours... the pants, are a disappointment. they aren't even very warm.the leg zipper gets caught in the gusseting material all the time... I've had seepage of water in certain areas.. thighs, crotch, balls just sat in cold water on one ride... I've tossed the pants and gave up on em.. had to buy another pair of pants which are another disappointment as well... don't even try to put these pants on over your boots... gotta take the boots off first. I've learned my lesson now.. I'm not buying any more suits until I can get enough money scraped together to afford something that will do the job... not sure why they named this the Law Enforcement officer rainsuit, I can't imagine any motorcycle cops wearing this or anything like it while on duty...
