Tourmaster Solution 2.0 BootsHey guys, this is Reuben with Competition Accessories. Welcome to our review of the Tourmaster Solution 2.0. Now the solution 2.0 and the original Tourmaster Solution boots have been some of the most popular waterproof boot styles that we have sold here at Competition Accessories. Now the Tourmaster Solution 2.0 has been out for a little while now and weve had a chance to really put it through its paces, try it on, see how it fits, how it feels, how long it lasts, and we have been really impressed. Weve got tons of customer reviews on our website if you want to jump on there at the end of this video and read some customer feedback on them. The best thing about them is the price. These are not going to break the bank. They retail for 119 bucks and we sell them for under 110 so you can jump on there and see what our current price is but theyre a really, really valuable boot for the money. Im definitely very impressed. The other thing thats really attractive about the Solution 2.0 is its going to work for such a huge variety of riders whether youre a commuter thats on the bike everyday, or if your planning a longer trip where you dont know what kind of weather your going to encounter the Solution 2.0 is going to work just great. Even this style of boot can work well for a sport bike guy if your not looking for the ultimate protection and not going to the track all the time the Solution 2.0 is great option for you guys in that segment also. One thing that I really like about it, obviously, is it has a built in HiPora Membrane, which is going to be waterproof, thats the key feature for it. I will open the boot up here you will see that there is a Velcro flap thats going to cover the main zipper. There is Velcro on the end of the zipper as well which helps hold the zipper pull up in place. And then you see that internal waterproof membrane this gusset underneath the zipper here extends pretty much all the way to the top of the boot. What that does for you is its going to prevent water from coming in behind the zipper here and even if you were to ride through some big puddles where water is washing up over your feet, as long as water doesnt get over the top of the boot and run down inside these are going to do a great job of keeping your feet dry. Now HiPora has some really neat properties to it. It not only keeps the water out, its also a very breathable material, so for those warmer days when your feet might be getting a little hotter, it does a fairly good job of breathing and allowing your foot to breath so its not super hot. Now I will say any waterproof boot, if its 90 degrees out and middle of summer, your feet are probably going to get a little toasty in them. But the flip side of that is if you do get caught in the rain theyre going to keep your feet nice and dry and in cold weather obviously it helps block a bit more wind and keep your feet nice and warm inside the boot. The inside is lined with a nice soft material they do have what they call their Techno GI thermoplastic heel cup and toecap. So you have a heel cup around the back here thats inside the boot for support and protection. The toe box is reinforced as well, thats going to keep it nice and comfortable when shifting but also add some protection as well if you were to go down, tumble and hit the front of your foot on something thats going to help reinforce that area and keep you comfortable. Some built in armor over the anklebone, thats there not only for impact protection but also for abrasion resistance. Obviously leather does a good job but if you were to go down, your foot is underneath your bike its going to help prevent any wear or damage to your ankle and your foot inside the boot. On the sole of the boot you have some nice tread design. I really like the sole of the solution 2s cause theyre really comfortable off the bike also, so if youre like me and ride some events whether its bike night or some kind of open house or charity fund-raiser type of event or your riding somewhere then your off the bike walking around for hours, you know the last thing you need is a really stiff uncomfortable boot thats really hurting your feet all day long. So these boots are going to give you really sure footing but they are also fairly flexible so you can walk around in comfort. The foot bed that they use inside these is orthopedic, has some arch support in it, and it also absorbs vibration so if your bike has a little bit of buzz in the foot pegs or anything these are going to help absorb that as well. If you want to look down here at my foot, I actually have one of the Solution 2s on my foot and you can see what it looks like with jeans on. Very comfortable boot, as far as sizing goes, I pretty much always wear a size 10 or a 44. No different with the Solution 2. They are just right, I would say if you are kind of in between sizes especially if you have a slightly wider foot you probably want to go up a size. But I typically take a size 10 sometimes I have to go up a size 10.5 in tennis shoes depending on the width but on these particular ones I find that I can wear the size 10 and they fit just right so very comfortable as far as flexibility goes. You can walk around as I mentioned all day long in comfort in the Solution 2.0 and again you cant beat that price for under 120 bucks youre getting a fully featured waterproof motorcycle boot. So check out these Solution 2.0s from Tourmaster on our website, at competitionaccessories.com and dont forget most of your orders here at competition accessories are going to ship for free and you can earn up to 5% comp-a-cash back to use toward future purchases. Great pants - FZ6Rider   CA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Fit, features, cost
Cons: Liner is not very secure minimal velcro pads

I bought these pants for general all-around protection. Prior to this, I've been riding around in jeans.I like that I can wear these pants over jeans. The leg zippers run from the cuff up to the knee, and so they are easy to put on and take off with boots. There is a removable liner which tends to come undone from the pants when putting them on. The liner is attached to the pants with velcro pads, but these are minimal. I also like the color and finish in that it's not attention-grabbing.The legs can be removed and converted into shorts, which was another reason for buying them. The zippers don't snag, and are easy to remove.A word on sizing. These pants run large. I am 5'10, 175#s, and usually wear a size 32 in jeans. The Medium in these pants was a bit large. I had to adjust the velcro straps on the waist all the way, and the pants were not even snug on my waist. I had to go with the Small size, and they fit pretty well on me.Overall, a pretty nice pair of pants with the convenience of making them into shorts.

TourMaster Trackers - rion72   IA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Well made, excellent ventilation, great pair of pants
Cons: A tad short, no jacket zipper

I recently bought these to replace a pair of Oylmpia pants similar styled. Other than being a tad short I have no complaints and love these pants....I have a 32 inch inseam in jeans and though these were perfect standing they where a tad shorter than I prefer riding...Much better for my application than the Olympias for my use....First wear was a week long trip around the south to Memphis to New Orleans to Nashville to home. No issues what so ever...would recommend these if youre in the market for these type of gear.

Practical - Tqmnstr   GA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Being able to wear all , the fit size charts is perfect, wear every day to work.
Cons: Possibly some small hip protectors

I have been waiting a while to get these. I already have a pair of over garment pants. When I was looking for every day regular motorcycle pants all my search's kept coming back to these. I have found nothing to complain about. The fit is perfect, the small interior wind breaker is a little lacking in staying in place but I bought these for every day use. They work perfectly for the design.

Mesh pants - Ernie   LA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Very durable and plenty of armor
    Cons: None so far

Bought these pants to go with my Flex 3 jacket. They match color wise pretty good. First time having mesh pants so really didn't know what to expect. These give you plenty of ventilation with the inner layers taken out and still have all the armor in the mesh part. With all the layers in, these pants will get you in into the really cool weather. The knee and shin armor is moveable for different inseam lengths. Sizing is pretty much correct. I normally wear 35X34 jeans so I ordered a large and they fit real good. Plenty of adjustment at the waist with the Velcro but can be a little difficult with the belt loops that are right at the tabs. Only thing I can think of that might be considered a gripe is that the total length of the pants could stand to be at least an inch longer. Overall they are a great product.

Great Overpants - Jonathan R   IN Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Easy onoff without being baggy
Cons: No direct access to your regular pants pockets

Great for commuting and all around riding with other pants on. These saved my bacon already and got ripped up a bit. Immediately ordered another pair to replace them. Order a size larger as you can cinch in the waist ... you can't let it out if it's too tight.

    Pros: Flexibility and adaptability
    Cons: None

I live in the desert of Arizona and work in the alpine mountain area up north, and this makes for some interesting climate changes just commuting to work 3000' to 7000'. I bought the Flex 3 pants just for that reason and they haven't let me down yet I leave home at 105 degrees and drive into rain and 60 degrees with nothing more than a quick zipping of the outer shell to the mesh layer. Fantastic

Great pants - A41capt   AZ Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Great fit and finish, comfortable, and, well... Flexible
    Cons: None I can see

When I first looked at these pants I thought that there couldn't be an effective 4 season pant that fit my needs without some kind of trade off. After purchasing them and wearing them, I found I couldn't be any more wrong.Flex is a great name for these pants. I live in Central Arizona and work in Northern Arizona. For those of you not familiar with my beautiful state, I live in the desert and work in the alpine region at 7000 feet. To say I experience a climate change in my everyday commute is a gross understatementSimply zipping in or out, zipping off or on, I can accommodate all of the extremes from dry oven heat to the cool rains of spring and autumn, from the cool dryness of the desert, to the 20 of the wintertime mountains. Amazing pants, high quality fabric and stitching, exactly the quality you'd expect from Tourmaster. My next purchase A Tourmaster coat to give me the same flexibility that I get from the pants

Pros: Like the 4XL fit-warm & dry-love all the features
Cons: perfect if had rear or cargo pockets-missing knee armor when rec'd

Tried 2 other pair of similar featured, discounted pants in 3XL from 'compacc' & waist for my 44 girth was not eneogh. tried Tourmaster 'Overpant' in 4XL also. Good fit tho in 42 degree 5 mile ride with speed no more than 45mph & khaki pants underneath , I wasn't cold tho wasn't warm either.Wore these with quilted liner going 65mph in dry 45degree then later, heavy rain & stayed warm & dry entire time. Shed that heavy rain nicely with only short ,routine hangdry after. Added own suspenders & timed self to only take 7 minutes for beginner to put on over work pants & ready to roll I'm happy my search for Winter pants is FINALLY over. Now,time to make my investment in new maxi Suzuki scooter pay off in 40 something degree Seattle weather

Pros: Vey warm, I normally use a large, but ordered a XL and they fit snug, so definitely order a size up.

    great product but.....
Great product, the but is i would simply recommend you buying a size larger than your current pants size. I purchased the large as my pants were 33 or 34 depending on where i bought them. The pants were quite snug, i have since lost weight and my pants size is much closer to 30-31 the pants now are incredibly comfortable. Not snug and easily managed. In my case worked out great but most will want to size up 1 for a comfortable long lasting fit.

I ordered a pair of these rain pants to use on my scooter. I have short legs, and these are long, but they have an elastic with velcro strap on the bottom ankle. The back will zip nicely into my jacket. They went on really easy. They come with a zipper pouch for storage when not in use. They pack easily into the pouch and it is small enough to fit in the seat storage area. The seams are nicely sewn and the elastic waist band is not binding over my riding pants. They even have zippered pockets.

I just bought this riding outfit in August, 2010, Flex 2 Jacket and Flex pants. I was on my first ride with them in September, and I had just stopped to shed the inner liner and outer "chaps" sections because the day had turned from 50 degrees to 80. I was riding only in the mesh armored pants and mesh armor section of the jacket with a T-shirt and boxers, when the inevitable happened....I decided to leave my bike at 35 MPH! My helmet was dinged, and my new riding outfit was torn to shreds, but I walked away with only a broken pinky finger! I love this outfit, and I recommended it to every rider I've seen since!

I purchased these pants in May 2008. I love them. I have put them to the test for rain. Pretty good, though I do get a little damp in the butt with extreme heavy rain. They are comfortable and have no rips or tears. I wear them a lot, especially in cool and cols weather over pants.

IMHO, these can't be beat for the money. They don't zip to a jacket, but for 20 or so, you can have the zipper portion sewn on. My Quest pants arrived a few days before a 200 mile ride in the rain and they kept me dry.

Good Value - Lone Rider   VA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Warm, comfortable, easy to put on
    Cons: Liner attachments poorly made

As others have noted, the Caliber ankle liner attachments break. Mine did with the first use. I'll have to pin them. Otherwise, the pants appear to be well made for the money. The size chart is pretty accurate. I've only worn the pants twice so far. They are warm and comfortable but not bulky. I have Tourmaster mesh pants and a mesh jacket for warm weather use and the Tourmaster Transition jacket for cooler weather. The ankle attachments in my mesh pants have not broken. Overall, I'm please with the brand. However, Tourmaster should pay attention to their liner attachments, especially in the Caliber pants.

Almost perfect - Magge   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Fit, workmanship, easy onoff.
    Cons: Not quite waterproof

Bought these hoping to replace rain gear but that won't happen. They got dampmoist not wet in the crotch and thighs in 8 hours of light to medium rain showers so the rain gear will go in the bags next trip. But waterproof is a relative term in the world of motorcycle gear and I was on a naked bike so I'm not too disappointed. Otherwise these are very good pants. No problem keeping out the raw cold 50s and wind so I'm sure they will do well in colder dry weather. 36 short is a perfect fit for my 58 165 lb frame. Overall a good deal and I would recommend them.

Venture pants - James   CA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Well made, fit true to size, easy to put on and take off.
Cons: Knee pads are barely adequate.

I bought these to replace my get to work in hospital scrubs combination of motocross knee armor and ski pants. I haven't had the opportunity to test for water resistance, but the pants are sturdy, well made and fit well. The side zips make them easy to put on and remove. My only complaint is with the knee armor. I'm spoiled by the combination of shin armor and large knee pads that the the motocross gear provides, but I think I would find the armor in these pants to be small even if I didn't have that comparison. The pants must fit loosely over my scrubs if I am to have room for a liner later and they do come with an excellent liner but that means the armor must be about 2 to 3 times the width of my patella and there should be some good upper shin coverage. unfortunately, the included armor is more suitable for a person about 4 feet 8 inches tall a foot shorter than me. The hip pads are good. So - an excellent product with a single deficiency.

Tourmaster Elite Series II Rain Pants - Bob R.   CT Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Weather tight, sturdy construction, good zippers
Cons: Leg zippers could be a bit longer to make putting on the pants with boots a bit easier

Good design and construction. Fitment charts were accurate for me. My previous rain pants less expensive than these Elite II's had small zippers that tended to get caught up in the material when you zipped the legs up or down. These Elite II's have larger zippers that work better.Tourmaster makes a quality product as usual.

Good Value - Currenv   MD Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Good fit, Good protection
Cons: Not high viz which is important to me

Got these because I have a pair of the less ventilated pants. Bought the Air Pants for summer use. They fit well and are well made. They breathe nicely. They have side zippers to make putting on over boots easy but I find it more convenient to put boots on last. They have adjustable positions for knee guards which is great -- otherwise on other pants I find the knee guards are more like shin guards.I wear 38 waist 34 inseam pants and XL fit me with the legs just a tad long. i generally wear them over pants -- dress pans for work. Hope this is helpful.

Great pants, but not for us with short inseams - Steve in Utah   UT Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Solid construction, a lot of mesh
Cons: Not a good fit for us vertically challenged riders, way too much Velcro, tight with all the liners in.

5'6, 29 inseam. I was pleased to find that TM offered these in different lengths, but unfortunately the waist band to knee measurement doesn't appear to vary from length to length, ie the short versions are simply a hemmed version of the regular length.. The problem is that even with the knee pads in the highest of the three positions, they still sit way too low on my legs.Otherwise they look Iike they'd be great pants, but for two things the excessive amount of Velcro down the side seams, and when the two liners are fitted, they're a little tight. I am a little stocky in the legs 5'6, 29 inseam, 34 waist, 41 chest, 160lbs, but not ridiculously so.

Comfortable - Protective - Good Value - Dave - ST1300   PA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Comfortable and Good Protection
Cons: Waterproof liner is inconvenient to use

I really like these pants and the fit was great. I originally ordered a size large but I had to exchange them for medium. I normally wear a size 34 waist and 32 inseam. Once I received the medium, the fit was great. These pants are comfortable and offer a lot of protection. They allow air to pass through which is a great benefit because I normally ride in warmer weather. The waterproof liner is a little bit of a pain to get in and out. I might have preferred that the outer shell had some water resistance, but then it wouldn't have allowed air to pass through and would probably be too hot. Overall, I really like these pants and I would definitely recommend them.

Tourmaster Venture Air Pant beats the heat - Year Rounder07   IL Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Cool and comfortable, ankle to hip zippers, armor in knees with foam hip protection, has two traditional side pockets
Cons: Might benefit from a magnetic rather than a Velcro system along legs, and some tailbone protection.

I ride throughout the year, but find summer riding can be a killer behind a fairing when temps are in the mid to upper nineties. The Venture Air Pant has made riding much more enjoyable and provides exceptional cooling as well as armored knee and foam hip protection.

Pros: comfortable, easy to get in and out of
Cons: a bit baggy in the thigh for the waist size... men don't get fat like that

Bought them to go with the Transition 3 Jacket and wanted over pants that were compatible without having to have anything sewed. Decent quality but as mentioned a bit more baggy than the need to be. A good value for the dollars and look like they are built to hold up... a couple of seasons will tell.

    A very flexible pant solution
Unfortunately there are only two manufacturer's that I'm aware of that make pants that convert from full coverage to mesh. Of the two, this is the superior one IMO. While the pants aren't very waterproof, the liner is excellent at keeping rain and cold out. Being able to expose the mesh panels is fantastic on a hot day, and they still feel like they provide more protection than full mesh pants, though don't quite achieve the same ventilation either. To make this 5 stars the outer pant would need to be waterproof and they would need to be available in a more visible color.

Just as sophisticated as the Flex 2 jacket, and that's good. Not intended for wear over street pants; though, without the insulated liner in place, they feel about as roomy over my jeans as does TM's OverPant of the same size. My only problem is that the zipper on the waterproof liner is too short to allow me to don the thus-lined pants with my boots on. Not really a problem until changing conditions on a long ride has me in stocking feet hopping up and down in a cold rain trying to get my pants back on. With a longer zipper on that liner I'd give it 5 stars.

Good sub 200 product - ScottB   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: high denier protection, adjustable armor, 34 length side zip, dual liners
Cons: liners don't support overpant use, snap at waist, not clip,

At first blush a very good mesh pant. Dual snaps are inferior to a metal hook waist closure used on other products. The real gotcha is with the liners. They do not have side zips of any length and if you put the rain liner in you can no longer don these pants with boots shoes on. These are a good product if the price point is sub 175, otherwise you get better price performance from Olympia at a price.

Nice pants, but don't buy the 'short' ones - Steven L   UT Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Good quality for the price, liners add versatility - 5 stars for that
Cons: Short versions seem to be just regular length ones hemmed - so minus 2 stars

YMMV, but for this 5'6 rider with a 34 waist and 29 inseam the 34 short pants were hopeless, as the waist to knee length was too long, so even with the knee armor in the highest position, it was still halfway down my shins. Shame, as I like TM stuff generally.

This is just what I wanted...a protective outer shell that, unlike my Flex pants, I can actually get into without taking off my boots. Also unlike Tour Master's Flex pants, there is no zippered insulated liner. Of course I've heard of long-johns; but c'mon, guys, you're the ones who said there was an insulated liner. Sans that claim I'd have rated it 4 stars...5 stars if the price were 20 lower.

I used my new Tour Master rain suit pants with Nomex. I ride a V-twin and the pipes are very close to your legs when you stop and put your feet down. Well the Nomex does not cover enough to protect the rain suit. I have a big hole in my pants and melted goo all over my pipes.
