This review is for TCX Explorer Evo Gore-Tex Boots
Painful - mpfrank CA
Recommended by Reviewer: No
Pros: Sturdy, solid construction. Not bad-looking
Cons: Not leather. They hurt my feet.
I bought these to complement the pair of TCX X-Five Plus Gore-Tex boots that I recently purchased and am very happy with. I wanted some boots with more ventilation for the summer, but that I could wear to meetings. These looked like they would do the trick. I received them, wore them around the house to check out the fit, and they seemed fine, if a bit clunky. However, after wearing them a few times on the bike, they have begun biting into the top of my foot as they flex when I walk. Painful They are now too worn in to return. Given that they are not leather like the X-Fives I don't think that they are going to soften and shape to my foot.
TCX makes a quality product and they are excellent motorcycle boots. The company TCX was formerly known as Oxtar, but after a legal dispute with Alpinestars, they were forced to change their name to TCX Boots
. One thing you will notice is that TCX is certainly a premium Italian motorcycle boot manufacturer. They focus on performance and quality and some cases they can pretty price competitive with similar boots on the market. All TCX Boots are manufactured in European sizes, so make sure to visit the size chart below to see the US conversions. Based on customer feedback we have found them to run typically pretty true to size. However, they typically will fit people with a wider foot better. If you have a narrower foot you might want to consider Alpinestars.TCX Provided Sizing Guidelines
