Video Reviews
Hey guys this is Reuben with Competition Accessories welcome to our review of the TCX Infinity Gore-Tex boots. These boots have become extremely popular with the duel sport and adventure riding crowd, but they also make a great full on touring boot as well. I kind of look at them as a cross between a dedicated touring boot and a off road boot and that's probably because the closure system they use poly urethane buckles with adjustable straps over the instep and the upper portion of the ankle here to allow you to get the boots on and off quickly and easily but they also give you a nice secure feel when you've got the boots on they tighten up nicely and they just feel like they are secure on your foot so you have a good amount of ankle support as well which is a good option for you that are going off-roading as well. Now when compared to a touring boot this is a little bit more beefy a little bit more going on and then when compared to a full on dedicated off road boot like a motocross boot this is much much lighter weight, a lot lower profile and the biggest thing is its a lot easier to walk around in when compared to a dedicated off road boot. So if you are a duel sport rider and your kind of deciding what kind of boot to ride in this type of boot is going to be very comfortable your going to be able to walk around in it you can ride in this thing all day long obviously with a Gore-Tex membrane it will keep your feet dry most off road boots do not have any kind of water protection system on the inside of them no lining so your feet will get wet if you go threw a water crossing or in heavy rain your feet can get wet in them in an off road style boot . But obviously its not going to have quite the ankle protection or the armor that a full dedicated off road boot is. So my recommendation is if your doing extremely aggressive off road trail riding any kind of jumping something like that something that you would consider an off road boot where if your doing true duel sport riding if your on the bike all day or if your exploring around doing some trails but your not doing anything extremely hard core this is a great option for you .Lets take a look at some of the features and again this makes a good touring boot as well even if your just dedicated to the street all the time, you'll see it does have a lot of features brought over from the dirt world. First thing is this inner side on both boots has a nice heat resistant panel and you'll notice there's a very clean design there's nothing on this boot that's going to catch on a bike. So if you are doing some off road style riding and you need to grip the bike with your legs and knees this is going to inter phase with the bike nicely. You'll notice there's a little armor piece over the malicious bone on both sides so that's going to help keep your ankles protected if you were to go down from both abrasion and impact you have a reinforced area over the top of the shifter obviously on the left and the right boot and that's going to help to keep the boot to last longer for the boot to last a long time and then as i mentioned you have an entry system that's similar to a off road boot buckles with adjustable straps and a Velcro upper. You'll notice at the top here you'll have an elastic gator here great feature for you guys doing some off road riding prevents any debris from getting down inside the boot making you uncomfortable. Taking a look at the inside you can see how high up this Goretex membrane goes, now Goretex is one of the best if not the best waterproof lining you can purchase and get inside of a boot or any other type of clothing it does really well. Obviously its going to keep your feet dry but also breaths really really well also. So taking a look at the inside a nice lining material to help keep your foot nice and comfortable even in warmer conditions and then the upper has this 3D mesh material to come up out the top of the boot and breath. The sole is kind of unique on the TCX Infinity as well it kinda reminds me of that kinda Goodyear Aqua treed its a good cross between just a straight normal sole and it gives you traction for off road and for wet conditions. I already have one of these boots on if you want to pan down here and look at how it looks on the foot. Right out of the box like i mentioned its going to be way way more flexible then what you would have in a motocross and definitely comfortable enough to walk around in all day long as well. You see that there's some flex panels across the front of the boot and behind the ankle and you also have some reflective material at the back as well. These are a size 44 which is what i typically wear and i would say the sizing is definitely accurate the width is definitely good its not super narrow. I'm very happy with the fit on these as well. Information and Details about the TCX Infinity GTX Gore-Tex Boots
made by TCX Boots
TCX Infinity Gore-Tex Boots are a dual purpose boot. Gore-Tex material makes the Infinity Boot completely waterproof. The touring sole is specifically designed and ideal for wet ground conditions. With a Comfort Fit System, the TCX Infinity Gore Tex Boots are a comfortable choice. The anatomic foot bed is replaceable. With an upper constructed of full-grain leather, TCX Infinity Gore-Tex Boots are a great looking boots that are made to last.

Comfort Fit System, developed as a result of years of TCX® know-how, has always been one of the strong points of touring products. This special and virtually entirely manual technique allows the boot to be shaped on a “mould” that faithfully reproduces the anatomy of the foot, making the product exceptionally comfortable and ideal for prolonged use in different situations.

GoreTex Membrane
This fine material has important features such as long-term waterproofing capacity, excellent resistance to the most extreme temperatures and high resistance to wear and tear. The special microporous structure of the GORE-TEX® fabric in expanded PTFE contains around 1.4 thousand million microscopic pores per square centimetre. These pores are approximately 20,000 times smaller than a drop of water, but 700 times larger than a molecule of water vapour. So while water cannot penetrate the GORE-TEX® membrane in liquid form, sweat (water vapour) can easily evaporate. This results is a completely waterproof barrier that means the boot can be used in all climates, guaranteeing maximum comfort and optimal breathability.

Durably waterproof and breathable
Optimized climate comfort for moderate conditions
Moderately insulating for nominal heat retention

Full Grain Leather
Many boots in the TCX® Touring range have uppers made of “full grain” leather. This is a natural material that offers great comfort and protection against atmospheric agents, as well as being robust and hard-wearing. The material is obtained from the most valuable leather, with a tanning technique that combines craftsmanship and advanced technology and a waterproof treatment. The TCX® touring full grain leather upper is therefore an excellent concentration of performance in terms of comfort, protection and resistance.

  • UPPER: full grain leather
  • LINING: GORE-TEX® Performance Comfort Footwear
  • REINFORCEMENTS: malleolus, polyurethane shift pad, shin plate, suede leather heat guard
  • CLOSURE: 2 polyurethane adjustable buckles
  • FOOT BED: anatomic, replaceable
  • SOLE: touring sole, with specific design ideal for wet ground

TCX X Rap Good - Kneekaps   PA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Comfortable, light and secure
    Cons: Nothing really

Got these right when the snow started in the NorthEast. No riding, so do not know how it will feel on bike. So I am taking the time to break them in and these feel great. After the usual break-in and getting use to them, they have become my favorite boots, shoes whatever. Great looking, comfortable for all day walking and from what I see and feel should be good riding boots as well. Now I do recommend them but I also hope that not to many people buy them, I don't want to see every Tom, Dick and Harry prancing around in them.

    Pros: Very comfortable, well made
    Cons: laces too long

I got these for colder riding. I have the air version x-cube's and I love them. Unfortunately, these have been replaced by the evo version which I was not impressed with. I was able to find possibly the last size 45 here at CA. They are out of stock everywhere else.

Racer X wears these - Miguel C.   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Style, comfort, waterproof.
    Cons: Mostly durable.

These are European in design and I dress like an American but it still works out in black. They breath alright and only in 100 degree weather do my feet have even a slight hint of sweat. 'Tenant Dan says 'member to keep your socks dry These are very comfortable which I wasn't expecting in a boot. There is minor scuffing from shifting. Though I plan on switching to a smoother peg.

Rap Boots - rufus15   GA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Comfy, easy break-in, nice appearance, and lightweight.
Cons: soles smoother than would like.

I took a chance on these boots to fit and feel right since I've had no luck with online footwear purchases in the past. I was always sending them back at my expense negating any savings I may have received. I watched the online review and was so impressed with them that I ordered them right away, and was not disappointed. Day one I was going for a short ride and slipped them on. They were true to size, a little stiff at first, but not enough to bothered me to flexing my foot. Got the brown and they looked like a regular shoe with a few positive comments of the look. Only negative comment I have is the bottom of the sole is smoother than I would like on any riding boot. They didn't have the positive feel on the highway pegs like vibram soles do, and I know we're comparing apples and oranges, but ground contact at stops where there's oil and other spills had the same feeling. This is still a great bootshoe and would recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, lightweight, and good looking boot. Time will tell if they hold up, but so far so good.

X-Five boots rock - BMW GS Rider   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Fit true to size, waterproof, goretex, good air flow
    Cons: none

I spent a good amount of time researching for a new pair of boots and decided on the X-five because of the gortex, leather outers and armor. I wear a size 11.5, so I ordered that size and they arrived quickly and fit perfectly. I have the x-fives' boots for just over 2 months now and love them. I have now used the boots in rain storms and they kept me dry. The gore tex is the way to go.. the boots provide plenty of air flow and breath well. Very comfortable for a motorcycle boot.

Excellent boots for the money - Cruiser Rider NC   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: waterproof, comfort, armor, breathable
Cons: little expensive, but worth it in my mind

I highly recommend these boots to someone who is a cruiser rider and who is looking for an all season including summer waterproof boot that can be used off the bike as wellThis is my first riding boot, so I have nothing to compare it to other than hiking boots. I live in the Raleigh NC area, so my concerns going into this summer was finding a boot that fit these criteria.1. A low-profile for shifting and riding2. waterproof to keep them dry3. breathable prevent my feet from getting hot and clammy4. Provide protection5. Comfortable enough to some activities off the bike. After a season with them I am happy to say this boot meets all my requirements. I was most concerned about it getting to hot in the summer, but I have ridden all season this year and not once did I ever notice my feet bothering me 95F, 77 humidity, no problem. The x-fives' Gortex lining does what it says. I've also ridden in the rain several times, and while I do not own waterproof pants YET , any water that did enter the boot was from my sliders kevlar jeans dripping down my leg. As for the protection of the boots, it is stiff enough to believe it will do its job and there is a good amount of armoring surrounding the heel and going up to the ankle. Toes are protected, and shin guard is excellent based on what I have seen.the x-five offers decent comfort for walking around too. Not perfect, but I can easily spend a couple hours at work wearing them with no problems. At about hour 4 the boots start to wear on me, so that is my personal comfort limit. I am buying some insoles to see if that will help make them an all day off the bike boot.Overall.. very happy I bought them. Happy Riding

excellent gore tex motorcycle boots - William S   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: zipper on inside, fits under pants, quality
    Cons: requires some break-in

I love that the X-five boots are narrow enough to go under non-skinny pants, that the zipper is on the inside. I love the look, feel, quality and functionality of this TCX boot regardless of the price. Cruiser or sport bike or any street bike for that matter, I don't think anyone can go wrong with the X-five boot. It also grabbed on to the pavement better than any other motorcycle boots I've worn. It breathes good, but feet will still get a little sweaty in the summer. The boots do requires some stretching to break them in, especially with my forward controls. I did most of the break-in inside house before trying to ride. The boots are comfortable while standing but I wouldn't go hiking in them without an added insert. Overall the X-five boots are GREAT buy

great all around riding shoes - David in OHIO   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: breath well, easy to tighten
    Cons: wish had speed hooks.

I wore these several days straight in hot OH summer and my feet stayed dry and comfy. Definitely breathes.I needed something that protects my ankles solidly, but also looks good off the bike with a pair of jeans. This is it. At first it felt a half size large, but that's because the shoe is built solid and you can't easily tighten the laces toward the front of the foot... until you break them in. After about a day of wearing them, I realized I can tighten the front half of the shoe more easily and got a precise fit. Kinda wish the laces went thru hooks at the top, but that's a small issue. The leather and suede finish gets a slight discoloration from being rubbed against the jeans cuffs or other pants.

Love the TCX X-Rap shoes - Matt Feldks   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: true to size, good feel on the pegs, sturdy
    Cons: [None]

I would recommend them to a friend or anyone else. I am very satisfied with the TCX X-Rap shoes. I used the size chart and ordered my standard size in cm and they are perfectly true to size. I love the flat platform, which allows my feet to rest comfortably on the pegs. These shoes feel very sturdy, but are as comfortable as walking shoe. They also look good enough to pass as regular casual shoes. I have received a couple of compliments from total strangers on their appearance. I am very satisfied with these.

Great Boots - Robert D   TX Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Very comfortable
    Cons: [None]

I've been riding with these boots a couple of weeks. So far I'm very happy with them. They're super comfortable and a nice change from heavy engineer boots. Size seems to be fairly accurate. I normally wear a 9.5 US and I got the 44 Eu which is about a 10 US. I have a little extra room in the toes as I expected.

It's alright with me - Slider   TN Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: comfortable with little break in, stylish, well made.
Cons: a might heavy, would like a bit more 'grip' on the soles.

Good lookin' shoe that does not attract attention when you are off the bike. They feel as substantial as my Harley branded boots. I ride a 2007 FLHTC. Named her 'Miz Piggy.' That should tell you that I'm a bit strange. I don't wanna look like the 'typical' Harley rider. I don't wear bunches of leather or have loads of 'bling' on my bike. These shoes allow me to ride 'Kool.' I wear jeans and a Corbin denim jacket so when I get off the bike I just look like an 'old guy with style.' If there are any flaws with the shoes is that they are a bit heavy and that, when you put down your feet down while ridin' you don't feel as if the 'grip' on the pavement is safe, particularly on wet streets.

SWEET BOOTS - lifetime rider   WI Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: good boots, comfortable, look good too
    Cons: na

I have bought many boots for riding over the years, and I really like these boots. They are more than a tennis shoe, but you could get away with wearing them with jeans and not looking funky. Good tough padding in all of the right spots. Well made, and perform more like a boot than a street shoe when riding. I would recommend these to anyone. Competition Accessories price was excellent, delivery was quick.

Robust Riding Boots - Josue   CA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Very sturdy and offers good amount of protection for the price
    Cons: [None]

Purchased these boots after much research. Out of all, these offered the balance of protection, price, and style for me. I love the fact that they rise about 2-3 inches about my ankle providing more support over the ankle height riding boots. They also have very good protection - sturdy heel cup, hardend toe protetcion, very large protection over the ankle bone, and a velcro strap to ensure they stay on in case of a worse case scenario. With jeans, these hardly look like anything other than a regular pair of shoes.

    Cons: [None]

They are still comfortable on summer temperatures 86 - 89FAir flow is not an issue here cause they need to be waterproof. In my first ride with these shoes I got rain 3 times and my feet were completely dry. The black are pretty stylish and look like regular sneakers.

So far I've very happy with these boots. The only complaint is that they are stiff to the point of making it hard to find the shifter sometimes. Otherwise, the best boots I've owned yet.

    Pros: Comfort
    Cons: Insole

These are surprisingly comfortable shoes. I have worn them all day at the office when I had a change of shoes because I forgot to change.Although the shoes seem to be top quality, the insoles are junk. They slide up the back of your heel and are essentially paper thin. The shoes are actually far more comfortable without the insoles.Shoes run true to size 9.5 D.

Great all-around shoe - WaynoJ   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Light-weight, great fit, full protection, great looks
Cons: No shifter patch, don't breath

This is my third pair of TCX boots I've had a pair of X-Square boots, and also have the X-Square Sport boot, and I can honestly say I love them all, but the X-Rap waterproof is my favorite. All of my TCX boots have run a bit large in size, so I've ordered the Euro size 44 about a US size 10 in all of them and they fit my 10.5 wide feet perfectly with room for a pair of heavy socks. Break-in has been pretty painless -- shifting was a bit tough for the first three or four rides, but has now broken in nicely, and these riding shoes are much easier to walk around in than the X-Squares while providing more high ankle protection. Like most water-proof boots, these do not breath well -- especially in heavy socks, your feet will sweat in warm weather. There is a Gore-Tex version that I'm wishing I had ponied-up the extra bucks for. As another reviewer pointed out, the other drawback to the X-Rap is the lack of a shifter patch on the left shoe -- I can see how it could wear through fairly quickly, although there's no evidence of it yet three months in. Overall, I'm very happy with these boots and would recommend them to anyone looking for a water-proof boot, although I would probably spring for the Gore-Tex version if you can afford it, just for the breathability.

Stealth riding shoes - Angel   FL Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Looks like regular shoes, protective, waterproof...
    Cons: None yet.

No one knows I arrived on a bike with these. They look like regular hi-tops. While it's not as convenient as going for a ride with whatever you're already wearing these shoes will keep you riding longer and safer. It's got grip and my foot is protected. My socks stay dry whenever I step in it. The shifter peg can't tire me out or wreck my sneakers anymore. The TCX lets me keep shifting for hours. If you can afford a pair I highly recommend them.

Great for commuting - PR   CA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Fit well, feels very protective
    Cons: Laces are a pain

I usually wear a 10.5 and these 44 fit very well. The sole is very stiff which takes a little getting used to but it does feel like it will protect your feet. The ankle, shank, and toe all feel well protected. The only thing I don't like is the laces - they're a pain to tie, with pants leg and Velcro strap getting in the wait. And the laces are long - I double tie them and the strap only partially covers them. I really just need to cut them. One day commuting in the rain and they stayed nice and dry.

2 years, still look like new - TXC boots   MA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: build quality
    Cons: not for wide feet

I just shined up my boots. I've got about 20,000 miles on them and they still look like new. I'd give them 5 stars but I'm not so into the idea of activity specific footwear. Next time I might buy an 8 high waterproof hiking boot like my son's Danner's. Partly for versatility, but also because the TCX's are just now comfortable enough not to want to take them off as soon as I get off the bike. I wouldn't recommend these for anyone with wider than D width feet.

Pros: These look much better than traditional motorcycle boots - can wear them around town after getting off the bike. My feet didn't get too hot even though it was very hot outside.
Cons: The front is pretty stiff and it hit my shin at an odd spot so it was uncomfortable to walk in until that was broken in a bit.

After I broke them in a bit they were much more comfortable. There isn't great arch support so when i had to walk far in them it wasn't ideal but i was able to wear these around town after going for a long ride and didn't feel out of place at some of the nicer cafes. Nobody could tell they were motorcylce boots at all which i think is a plus some other riders in my group even scolded me for not having proper attire.

Excellent - tghgmc   AA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: waterproof, breathable, cool, light
    Cons: no arch support

First off, let me say these boots are over all excellent, a true 4.5 out of 5 stars. Fit is spot on per the manufacturer size chart. I usually wear an 11 or 11.5 in US size and the 45 euro size is a perfect match. The gortex liner functions flawlessly and my feet have been dry over now as I am finishing up my third riding season in these boots. Wear and tear have started to show up in year three in the textile fabric near the hardened toe box but nothing excessive. The black rubber sole has also started to age and, in places, now appears more gray than black. Comfort for walking is better than average and became very good when I put in my own sole inserts as the inserts that come with the boots are thin, non-supportive and moved around inside the boot. Put in some quality in-soles and these boots function very well, allow in superior air-flow my feet actually got cold in early morning rides in Texas, North Carolina and Korea but no water. When the temps rise is when these boots shine. If you wear moisture wicking socks then your feet will be wet. My only warning on durability is a result of unusual circumstances as I wore a small hole in the textile fabric of the left boot where the fabric meets the toe box. This developed after I bent my shifter arm on my XR1200X in a corner and the bend moved the end of the shifter arm back so gear changes rubbed at that seem. I would not expect problems with normal use as I have no other wear issues. However, if you love to corner you may want to consider WP boots with toe sliders as I have worn the outer toe of the soles nearly down to the fabric underneath. My next pair of boots will include the toe sliders for this reason. If you do not scrub your boots in the corners then these are fantastic boots.

Painful - mpfrank   CA Recommended by Reviewer: No
Pros: Sturdy, solid construction. Not bad-looking
Cons: Not leather. They hurt my feet.

I bought these to complement the pair of TCX X-Five Plus Gore-Tex boots that I recently purchased and am very happy with. I wanted some boots with more ventilation for the summer, but that I could wear to meetings. These looked like they would do the trick. I received them, wore them around the house to check out the fit, and they seemed fine, if a bit clunky. However, after wearing them a few times on the bike, they have begun biting into the top of my foot as they flex when I walk. Painful They are now too worn in to return. Given that they are not leather like the X-Fives I don't think that they are going to soften and shape to my foot.

Sizing Chart & Specs for the TCX Infinity GTX Gore-Tex Boots
TCX makes a quality product and they are excellent motorcycle boots. The company TCX was formerly known as Oxtar, but after a legal dispute with Alpinestars, they were forced to change their name to TCX Boots. One thing you will notice is that TCX is certainly a premium Italian motorcycle boot manufacturer. They focus on performance and quality and some cases they can pretty price competitive with similar boots on the market. All TCX Boots are manufactured in European sizes, so make sure to visit the size chart below to see the US conversions. Based on customer feedback we have found them to run typically pretty true to size. However, they typically will fit people with a wider foot better. If you have a narrower foot you might want to consider Alpinestars.
