Shinko SE890 Rear Tire - Squirrel   SC Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Unlike most new rear tires that take a few miles for the rider to get the feel of the tire, this tire was smooth and responsive right out of the shop.
    Cons: None Yet

This is my second Shinko rear tire and my first experience with a radial motorcycle tire. I really like the feel and handling the radial gives me on my Yamaha Road Star. I highly recommend this tire for riders of all levels.

    Pros: Good Value
    Cons: [None]

This is the 4th Shinko tire 2 fronts 2 rears, I have used. Quick recap, my first front wore quickly, but performed very well at high speeds, temps below freezing to 114 degrees in Death Valley. The rear had a very slow 1 to 2 mph wobble, but was fine at speeds. The tire lasted about 14000 miles normally get 17000-18000 out of Bridgstones Dunlops . I had an 890 front with only about 4000 miles on it when the tread separated from the carcass. I will say to be fair I have had a Dunlop and Stone also fail, both on Wings, in the past so I can get by ONE bad tire. Shinko customer service was EXCELLENT when warranting that tire. So I just purchased the 2nd rear 4th Shinko overall from Comp Acc. Tire came in 1 12 days, NICE. Mounted balanced no problems no low speed wobble. They all have handled well in wet cold very hot conditions

Shinko 890 on 02 VTX 1800 - sumncguy   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Price
    Cons: Handling

The tire does not handle as well as the big names. However the difference is minute. Wear is just as good as the bigger guys. This is a second bike I bought used. The bike had 16,300 on it when I bought it and I replaced the existing tires with the Shinkos. The bike know has over 29k on it. The front shinko still has a good chunk of miles left on it.

shinko 890 GL 1800 - Jim Logan   Recommended by Reviewer: No
Pros: Tire feels ok at highway speeds.
Cons: Tire is out of round

Purchased this tire from Comp Acc. last fall prior to a quick 1500 mile trip. Tire felt ok, but I noticed at very slow 1-3 mph speeds the G.L. would wobble. I thought it was just due to the tread pattern, and the roadway surface. I did start to pay attention to the slow speed wobble, and noticed it happened whenever I rode that slow. I contacted Shinko, and Comp. Acc. both responded very quickly, however, I was informed the tire would need to be sent back to Comp.Acc., then shipped to Shinko who would inspect and warranty it if it were found to be defective. Seems to me that by the time all that happens, I will need ti have the bike somewhere on a lift for about 2 or 3 weeks. No shop will do that on a tire I didnt buy from them. Has me re-thinking Shinko, as well as, buying mail order. Any tire manufacture can have a bad tire - not sure what I will do at this point
