Shinko 777 Rear - Drew   WI Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Great life low cost.
    Cons: None

I recently bought this tire to replace a 777 on my 1987 Yamaha Venture. The tire I removed had 13,685 miles on it. At least 75 of the mileage was 2-up and at least half was 2-up with a trailer. I am very happy with these tires and plan to continue to use them.

Best tire at any price - Guy   NY Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Handles much better than the original Dunlops and seems to last just as long at half the price
    Cons: None

I have had 2 sets of these tires and just love them. Great traction and handle tar strips and grooves with ease. In this case you get more than you pay for.

shinko replacement - butch   AL Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: great value for the price, excellent grip in the turns, great tread design makes handling a big improvement over stock dunlop which it replaced. i should get more miles out of this tire. only got 6800 out of the factory dunlop.fast free shipping.
Cons: no cons at this piont.

this tire replaced a factory dunlop on my 2011 vulcan 900. i was disappointed in the low mileage i got from the dunlop and wanted to try a different brand. glad i did. this is a great tire .smooth grippy handling, especially in the curves. has a nice tread design. havent ridden in the rain yet, but i think the tread design will be a benefit. im going with this tire when i replace the front, and probably when i replace both tires on my road king.the price and performance are right, and the customer service from comp aCC. is excellent.

Traction City - Jon   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Excellent traction wet or dry. Great handling. Decent wear.
    Cons: none

I purchased a set of these last year for my '03 VT1100c. I was skeptical but Shinko being the Ex Yokohama motorcycle division I figured I'd give them a try. After the first 100 miles the 230's started showing me what they could do. Wet traction was great, for this alone they are worth buying. The dry tractionhandling characteristics was way better than the Dunlop's they replaced. Lean in on curvy roads felt much more planted and smooth. Ride quality was improved as well, especially two up. I live and ride in Western NC, mountains, foothills, interstate and back roads. You never know when you'll get that afternoon shower so it's really nice knowing these tires will get you out there and back.

review for the Shinko SE890 Journey Motorcycle Tires - Jim Logan   SC Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: did what a tire should
    Cons: none

Just mounted the Shinko on the front of a GL 1800. Put 4100 miles on the tire in 5 days Chicago to Death Valley & back, with no issues. Rode 70-85 mph almost the entire trip psi 42, with no cupping or wear issues. Conditions ranged from 4 hours riding in the rain. 32 degrees crossing Vail Pass in the snow with ICY ROAD warning signs flashing, to 112 degrees Furnace Creek still riding 70-80 mph, without incident. The tire seems to be wearing consistent with the other tires i have used. No handling issues. If I get similar mileage long term to other premium tires i have used and at this point I think I will, I will continue to use the Shinko's. When i need a rear in about 3K miles I will try a 890 rear

I have run two sets on my '02 Kawasaki Vulcan Classic 1500 and simply love these tires. First set actually ran 14,000 miles but probably should have put new ones on at 12,000. Am at 7,000 miles on 2nd set. Very sturdy, sure footed under all conditions. Have become very confident in grip and quality of manufacturing.

I put these tires on my 1986 VT1100 honda about 5000 miles ago, and have been very happy with them. They seem to handle as good or better than any other brand of tire I have tried. Just a note: When I replaced my tires I replaced the front and rear so they match.

Shinko 777 - Ken P   PA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Good traction, decent wear, looks good, much cheaper than the other options
Cons: Wish they would wear a bit longer, but that's the trade-off for a softer compound.

I have a '06 sportster and looking for wide white walls without taking out a 2nd mortgage led me to these. This is the 3rd set I have put on and obviously I like them or I wouldn't keep buying them. They are much better than the factory Dunlops over grooved pavementrailroad crossings, and have always been stable and predictable in anything I throw at them. I live near Pittsburgh, and frequently ride in the hills and mountains on 2-lane roads with unexpected wet areas, debris, and sharp curves combined with sometimes sudden elevation changes as well as the highway at 65-75mph. Have never even thought about traction issues at all. They do wear faster than the Dunlops, maybe 15-20 less life but for the price as well as the added stability over uneven surfaces they are a bargain. I am not a speedster, I am happiest going 45 on a backroad enjoying the view so I cannot attest to them at the limits dragging pegs around a 25mph corner at 50, but I see no reason why they wouldn't perform at least as well as the stockers in that sense. Overall a very good tire at a great price.

712 Tire - Denny T.   WA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Pricevalue, meaty tread, nice looking, easy to mount.
Cons: A little too much protective coating.

I put both front not a 712 and back Shinko tires on a bike I was selling so I rode on them limited miles. Once scrubbed in they rode very well and had great traction. The back was very easy to balance and was one of the easier tires I ever mounted. I've talked to the buyer of the bike and he has almost two thousand miles on the tires now. He likes the way they ride, they're showing little wear, and stick well cornering and braking. From my experience I would recommend them for a good, fairly priced tire.

Put these on my wife's '04 V-Star 1100, about 4,000 miles so far and no problems. She trusts them on all surfaces and conditions as do I. Great value and quality built.

Put one on the rear of my Roadking. Worn out and the mileage is around 3k. Definitely not happy. Tire did good other than that.

Bad Front tire - Terry   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Good looking tire
Cons: Bad belt shake's like crazy

Put a set on my 2005 Road star put about 200 mile's on them the front tire started shaking at low speed, had it re-balanced twice now it shake's at any speed just an all round bad tire. The place i bought them said they would sell me a new one and send it back to Shinko for them to look at, why don't they just stand behind there product and replace it at no cost to me. If you jack the bike up you can see a hump in the tire, don't think I'll buy another set. PS The rear tire seem's fine.
