Information and Details about the Shadow Pikes Peak Big Air Vented Jackets
made by Shadow Distributing
The Shadow Pikes Peak jacket may be the best "non-winter" motorcycle jacket bargain going these days. Featuring genuine leather accents on the chest and back, as well as leather panels over the elbows and shoulders, the Pikes Peak jacket has the protection you need, and plenty of style to go with it. Void of tacky manufacturer logos, the Pikes Peak jacket features a clean design that will be at home on any motorcycle. Shadow Pikes Peak jackets sport HUGE vertical vents on the front and back, allowing a ton of air to flow through the jacket, and, since there are zipper pulls on both ends of the vents, you can open or close them down to allow as much or as little air as you like. For cool or wet weather, their is a removable waterproof liner included, which installs in no time. Storage options are fairly basic, with two hand warmer pockets and two internal pockets, but it's plenty for most every day riders. The best part is the price. Shadow is factory direct to you, which will save you a bunch of coin. You could easily spend $200 (or more) on a jacket like this with leather accents, CE armor throughout (including the back), and a high quality 600D chassis, but the Pikes Peak cuts that number in half. Available in a variety of colors, the Pikes Peak jacket is ready for you. If you want to know more, check out our video review as well!

Great summer jacket - Stephen   MA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Light weight,good venting
    Cons: Tight sleeves

Great summer weight jacket I am 6ft. 165lbs. The large fits good over a t shirt. Super quality at any price At 56 this is a steel Thanks compacc.com

Good midweight jacket - Lew   CO Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: sturdy, vents, leather patches on shoulders & elbows extra protection
Cons: waterproof liner probably effective, but not breathable, no pockets

It's not mesh, so I won't say it's lightweight. The CompAcc video basic description is good.I'm a 40 chest and normally wear large or size 40 coat or dress jacket, and I take a 35 sleeve dress shirt. The Large fits me fine generally and in the sleeves. The vents work well. I sweat easily, so I'm considering a mesh jacket -- next year. This year I've been on the highway when temps are in low 90s, and I'm just maybe beginning to be a little uncomfortable. Comfortable enough. No perspiration at all. I really feel the evaporation draft breeze on my sides. If I go up into the mountains and temps drop 10 or more degrees, or if the clouds start sprinkling, I'm fine. Cruising in town begins to get hot.The lining feels like plastic, but it isn't lined so I don't know how it will be in 40- or 50-degree fall weather. I haven't been caught in a downpour, so I haven't given it a good test for waterproof.

Great for the price - Johnny   CT Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Great fit, design, big vents, price
Cons: Removable waterproof liner feels like wearing a trash bag during workout

I have the XL blue jacket, I'm 6'3 225 and the jacket fits just right. I have used the jacket so far about 8-10 times on like an hour trips and found the jacket to be quite comfortable. When you are moving it does not feel hot or cold but when you are stuck in traffic in 80F you will start to feel hot a bitthe vents help a lot. The removable liner that comes with the jacket, really feels like wearing a trash bag during a workout but I only used it once for ten minutes and removed it from the jacket. I have not been caught in rain yet with this jacket on, so can't commit how waterproof it really is. It's great that the jacket has extra protection for shoulders, elbows and your back. Sometimes these pads feel like they keep shifting on you as you move but for me I got use to it after little while. If you are looking for a jacket with a armor pads and don't want to spend more then a 100, this jacket will do. Tip especially if you are first time buyer, stop by your local motorcycle store and try at least one or two, to see what is right size for you before you commit to anything.

Tailor fit with comfort - D'Mc'B   MS Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: More than what I expected, very nice jacket
    Cons: I want another one.

When I initially tried on the jacket, I was taken away as to how well it fit, the performance and design of the jacket which makes it well equipped and fully functional. I hope to own a pair of the matching pants someday.

Big Air Vented Jackets - Gregory   NJ Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: [None]
    Cons: [None]

The jacket is very nice and comfortable but if you don't take out the Inside lining on a warmcool day you can get very hot really fast....for I have the Harley Davidson color on the jacket but I really wanted the black on black but didn't have my size..... The jacket I'll give it 5 stars

Nice - makinlifehappen   MD Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Protection, fit price
    Cons: hot

Has good vents but is still warm. That being said it is fall here in MD and the days are still in the 70's so it will be warm in the summer. Overall though it is not bad at all as soon as you get to speed. I am Military and i commute to work as often as possible.Would buy again.

Excellent value in a vented jacket - Harvey Cohen   NJ Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Very good ventilation. Ventilation easily adjustable. Very good protection.
Cons: Velcro tabs in sleeves may require simple trimming. Back pad a bit stiff.

I really like this jacket. Much better protection than mesh, and more versatile. Fit is true to size Medium for my 39 chest 5'10 height 175 lb.. Ventilation with all 4 vents open is almost as good as mesh and works quite well with an evaporative cooling vest. Close the 4 zipper vents and it's good for cooler weather. Add the zip-in waterproof liner for more warmth. The back pad is obtrusively stiff when I don the jacket, but feels fine once I'm riding.Velcro tabs inside the sleeve armor pockets have corners that can poke your forearms. Just snip the corners very slightly so that they're more rounded. An absolute screaming deal at the closeout price.

Shadow Peaks Jacket - Craig   CA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Light weight but construction is solid
Cons: Water proof liner much tighter than shell & need vents on sleeves.

This is a good jacket. Tough but light. Good construction and look. Comfortable to wear on warmer days.

great jacket - spock   OR Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: great fit and outstanding value.
    Cons: more for colder days.

i wasn't expecting this jacket to be this great for the price i paid. fit was excellent and armor was great. this jacket even includes a back armor while other jackets only comes with a foam padding. cold and wet riding is what this jacket is meant for. will get hot during hot days especially in the arm area since there is no ventilation there.

Pikes Peak Jacket - Mark   WI Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Good fit, comfortable, good value
    Cons: none

The jacket is a great value. Plenty of vents, great fit, looks sharp. Light weight alternative to my leather.

EOD TECH - EOD TECH   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Cost, quality, size, color
Cons: Zipper was stiff to start but now A-Ok.

Ordered Hi-Viz Yellow. Arrived within 3 days. 34 waist, 48 inch chest, and a Large fits just fine. Used it the other day, temp at upper 80's and humidity in the upper 70's. Hot and muggy. Typical summer day. Thank God for the multi air vents Lots of flez in the shoulders waist . No pinching .Main zipper worked fine after a little break in. Buy another Yes. Probably another color to compliment this one. Now....time to ride

Pikes Peak Shadow Black Medium - TheQBB   FL Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Quality, Vents, Style,
    Cons: None

Purchased March 2014Really a well made jacket for this price point. Liking the removable water resist liner. Having the armor does not interfere with movement. Will need full use of the vents here in central Florida coming up, will add to my comments after a few warmer rides Paired with Shadow Speed Pro 2 gloves, very pleased. Ride safe...

Riding Jacket is Moto Jacket - Dravomoto   IL Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: price, fit, extra protection, ventilation options, real leather panels, appearance

Although billed as a street riding jacket, it works very well for trail riding and casual motocrossing.I have never experienced such value when you consider its price and what I got for the money.Buy this jacket

Pikes Peak Jacket - James   WA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Priced right,good quality
Cons: sizing by chart a little on the small side.

Great jacket, i was looking for a highly visible jacket and this fit the bill.I love the look and the features of this jacket for the price. lucky I read a previous review on this jacket about the fit. I normally wear XL, I ordered XXL and it fits well. a young slim trim rider, should be able to go by standard chart. Not disappointed at all.

Awesome Jacket For An Awesome Price - Lee   FL Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Air Flow, Protection, Color
    Cons: [None]

When I was selecting the size of jacket to buy, I went by how I like my shirts to fit, no by the sizing charts. According to the chart, I should've gotten a large, not and extra large tall. The sleeve's are a bit long for my taste, but I can deal with it. If you are considering on buying this jacket, please go by what the sizing chart says.

No-nonsense, right stuff jacket. - SDGR   CA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Heavy duty, hi vis is HIGHLY VISIBLE, added length at wrists a plus.
Cons: Could be a touch longer around the waist, lacks a belt around waist, sleeves don't tighten.

For 100 USD this isn't Lewis Leathers and it's not Savile Row, boys. However for a no-nonsense, high utility, high visibility everyday jacket it looks every bit the part. The armor is quality, the leather patches are in all the right spots, and the vents are more than adequate to get decent ventilation even in summer. The hi vis yellow goes BANG louder than bombs and I'd recommend it if you want to be SEEN. Although the pictures wouldn't seem to say so, the yellow used on the jacket does match the yellow on the Shadow Speed Pro 2 gloves. The sleeves are a touch longer than usual but I like it, because they can be tucked into gloves even if the gloves aren't long gauntlets. There are no belts or tightening devices, so what you get is what you get as far as midsection and sleeve widths go though so keep that in mind. Not a problem for me. I got 2XL. 6 ft, 230 lbs, 49 in chest, 18.5 in neck. Fits well though could be a bit tighter around the midsection. Doesn't ride up though. Firmly recommended.

Shadow Pikes Peak Jacket - Dan   MN Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Very comfortable, good ventilation
    Cons: Liner was uncomfortable

The jacket fits well and is very well ventilated, so it is cool to wear. It is very bright and I want to be seen, which is the main reason I bought it. I am very happy with this product.

Pikes Peak Jacet a winner - FJR Rider   MA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Perfect fit, armor good quality and in the right place while riding. Removable liner blocks wind in cool riding and is waterproof., wo liner the jacket is cool and comfortable in weather up to low 80's. A great jacket for an especially good price
Cons: Liner a bit of a struggle to install, and pretty warm in warm weather rain.

I needed a substitute for my summer air Jacket The Shadow with the bright yellow Hi Viz color for visibility seemed a perfect choice plus a fair price. After ordering it arrived within 2 days...amazing and the fit was perfect. Good armor and good placement of that armor it all sits in the proper place while riding. Living in the NE this fits the bill for cool to cold mornings and evenings and cool enough to be fairly comfortable up to the mid 80's. It' is nicely made and the HI Viz color is perfect for visibility Great fit, Large Tall I'm 6'2' and 190lbs, the sleeves a bit long but that's perfect for a change. Looks good too so I'd say you can't go wrong with this Deal

Riding Jacket - Riding Jacket   IN Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Heavy Duty Protection
Cons: Maybe a little warm when above 80

Bought this jacket for a trip to the Dragons Tail. Really like the protection it offers and the ventilation is above average. My wife likes hers also. The sleeves are a little long. Other than good jacket for price.

Follow Up Review - Follow Up Review   IN Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Heavy duty protection
    Cons: None yet

I have now got several hundred miles using this jacket. It has been better than first reviewing. My wife and I both ride with confidence. This jacket will allow you to get an awesome amount of air flow. This allows you to have protection even when it is hot. Great product at an unbelievable price.

Pikes Peak Jacket - Shadow Pikes Peak Jacket   IN Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Jacket fits well, jacket is very heavy duty with armor, plenty ventilation, great price
    Cons: [None]

Opened box and was presently surprised to find a very heavy duty skid jacket. Half expected a thinner cheap jacket for the cost. The jacket is snug in the torso, however you would not want it loose enough to ride up. Sleeves are plenty long for when your arms are fully extended. I rate this product 5 out 5. Just a great way to pick up some safety gear at an awesome price.

Nice Airy Jacket - DeadRun   VA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Air Flow, Fit, Price
Cons: No velcro cuff on sleeve

This jacket actually flows a ton of air if you open the zippers on the front chest and the much larger zippers on the back. It has a waterproof nylon liner which with the zippers closed could make the jacket usable to maybe upper 50's, but it is NOT a cold weather jacket - which is why I bought it. I like the jacket much more than I thought that I would due to the warm weather ventilation performance. It also fits me well 6'5 200 lbs in the XL size.

Pike Peak Big Air Jacket - allen BIG RED Harson   IA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: great fit in sizing, sleeves finally long enough, order tall. not to many offer tall sizes, lots of pads for protection
Cons: a little warm for days above 80's good vents if cooler than that...lining is really hot.

Ordered because of tall size to try great fit, I 6-4 so have hard time with sleeve length, good jacket should be best in fall and spring, in the midwest we have alot of humidity, little warm above 80's A great Jacket for me, cool days and short rides, long touring might want to bring extra heavy first layer for the 40's....

shadow pikes peak big air jacket - bill   FL Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Big air is a great name for this jacket as it allows large quantities of air to flow through the jacket.
Cons: Nothing really big. The main upper sometimes can't make it all the way to the top on one pull, as it hits the side of the real leather chest strips... but it will go up.

Been riding using this jacket for about a month now and have no complaints. I wore it for a semi-long ride from RIMA border up to Watertown, NY. I was able to adjust the air flow to meet the way different temperatures on this ride. Great jacket for the price, and it could sell for a whole lot more.

nice for the price - Baxter   SC Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: good fit looks good comfortable
Cons: zippers hang on material wrists are loose fitting

Over all the jacket does a good job. With the variance in temps this time of year the zip out liner provides good heat retention .It is easily removed as the day heats up and the vents provide air flow to keep you cool and protected from the sun. For the price its a god jacket. Haven't had the opportunity to find out how well the waterproof lining works.

Very nice medium weight jacket - muddy1   VA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: large vents, lots of pockets, well made
Cons: zippers a bit stiff, cut a bit unusual

I got this jacket on sale for almost half price. Looking for an inexpensive 3 season jacket, and this fits the bill very nicely. It has plenty of pockets inside and out and is very well made. The zippers on the vents are kind of stiff, but they should loosen up with continued use. The body of the jacket is cut rather small, so I got a XXL to be able to put plenty of layers under it. The arms, however are cut large, so I may have to stitch a pleat in them to tighten them up near the wrists. On the whole a great buy.

Shadow jacket - Lonewolf   AL Recommended by Reviewer: Yes

Great price , payed more other jackets but this one just as good and better air flow

Good jacket for little cash - Steve   IL Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Breathes well, CE armor in the back a major plus
Cons: Sleeves a little too long

This is a good jacket for the money, and offers CE armor in the back which lots of more expensive jackets don't even have. The sleeves are a little too long on my size L jacket. I normally wear a size L -- the rest of the jacket fits great, but the sleeves could be an inch or so shorter and would still be plenty long. Not enough of an issue to be a deal-breaker though. Also know that since the sleeves don't have take-up tabs the fit is snug -- short-sleeved shirts may bunch up in the sleeves, which requires some fiddling to straighten out after putting the jacket on. The venting zippers are great, and the jacket remains comfortable into at least the mid-80s with 60 humidity. It hasn't been any hotter here yet, but so far as long as I'm moving it's very comfortable.Overall a nice jacket and an excellent value

jackets - Lenny   ME Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: beautiful jackets very comfortable
Cons: silk inner linner isn't worth any thing

I bought 2 of these jackets one for my wife and one for me after wearing them 3 or 4 times the inner silk linner came undone at the seams which is no biggy but don't bother to send them back or warentee we never got replacements and they wouldn't send ours back to us so I went to another motyorcycle company and got 2 jackets for the same price and have used them often and they are wearing great . Don't get me wrong these are 2 great looking jackets the silk linner doesn't mean a thing I would have lived without it and the warentee if they had sent the jackets back

great jacket - john h   AR Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: visability, armor, fit
    Cons: none

great jacket, i really like the high visability yellow. I feel safer with this jacket on. the armor is really good too. with the liner in, it really cuts the wind.

Good value - wwp   NC Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Ventilation, Protection, Price
    Cons: Runs a bit small

I got an XL and it runs a little tight. The back armor just did not feel right and I removed it. The elbow and shoulder armor felt a little off when walking, but worked out just fine when riding. I'll try the back armor again in a bit.The ventilation works extremely well.

Shadow distributing - Jim   AZ Recommended by Reviewer: Yes

Cons: Missing a button or Velcro at the end of sleeve to take up extra material

Seams very well put together for the dollars spent, being my first jacket I have nothing tho compare it too, but I would recommend at this point.

Good all purpose jacket - Doug   GA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Water resistant, good venting, comfortable
Cons: Not enough padding around the front of the neck where the zipper comes up

Wore this jacket in rain, sleet and 40 degree temp and it kept me warm and dry. Venting works well in 90 degree temps, too. Good all round jacket at an excellent price.

blk slvr shawdow jacket - csupertaco   CA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes

Cons: sleeves are two big at wrist

great jacket, took it on a long 4 day ride.great ventilation. Great Value. the Silver is not really silver more of a tan color.

Good value warm weather jacket - Gary M   TX Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Good protection, better venting than non-mesh jackets
Cons: No hook and loop closure at the end of the sleeves

This jacket hits a lot of the issues I have for a warm weather jacket. My mesh jacket has no protection other than padding in the shoulder, elbow, and back. This jacket has real armor that will protect in the case of a crash, god forbid. The venting is not as good as a mesh jacket. However, they line up with the wind pattern coming off my adventure-tourer windshield and provides pretty good venting. The only real complaint I have is the end of the sleeves has no way to tighten down to my wrist. I'm overweight so the sleeves are too long. There should be a hook-and-loop closure at the end of the sleeve to keep the sleeve from going over my hand. I think I can fix this with a heavy duty rubber band. Given all the nice features of the jacket, this is not a big problem.

Jacket Sizing Off - Geekemeritus   MO Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: [None]
Cons: Sizing is a bit off

I ordered the jacket to use with the LD Comfort shirt. If you are not familiar with LDC, it is a two layer t-shirt that when wet, produces considerable evaporative cooling with controlled ventilation of the outer jacket layer. Mesh jackets wont work. The vents in this jacket allow you to control just the right amount of airflow to maximize the cooling time. It has not been warm enough here for a proper test, but appears like it will do the trick.I wear a 46 regular suit unaltered, so I ordered the XL, but discovered it was slightly loose and the sleeves came to my palm. I replaced it with a large, and the shoulders are a bit tight, the waist is fine, but the sleeves are still too long. I will probably have to take it to the tailor to fix the problem. If the sleeves fit it would be perfect.

3x jacket - animal   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: a comfortable, flexible jacket
    Cons: dont believe the sizes

It comes with a liner, spine pad, elbow and shoulder pads, and is very comfortable.I ordered a 3x, and it is smaller in the body than some other brands 2x. No 4x is available so it looks like a weight reduction is in order for me.

sizing - Bliz   OH Recommended by Reviewer: No
Pros: nice jacket , made well, good venting
    Cons: sizing

Despite the Comp A video that says jacket runs true to size, it does not. Runs small at least in the XL size. Had to send back.

You get what you pay for - Crackerrider   GA Recommended by Reviewer: No
    Pros: Good material, very visible
Cons: Horrible chafing pads, too loose around cuff, too large for intended size

It seemed like a good deal. It has many features you can't find in a sub 100 jacket. However, after trying on the jacket, I had to take the back and shoulder pads out. The were most uncomfortable and protruding. I wear and ordered a size large. The jacket fit like a cross between X-Large and nearly X-Large. It was too big around the waist and chest. The sleeves have a zip up cuff, but the cuff is still way too big and I have big arms and wrists. I sent it back and got an Olympia Renegade Jacket, size Large. Love it, love it, love it. It fits great. The pads are great. The quality is super. So in conclusion, money and brand names are really hard to beat.
