Really neat product - James   OH Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Battery life, all hardware included
    Cons: [None]

Easy to install, easy to pair, easy to use, and it sounds good. A very helpful item for my side-by-side so we don't have to yell at each other.

These Sena SMH10 are great - Barry   CO Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Reasonable cost, long battery life, great sound quality
Cons: A bit complicated to use

OK so why would someone with a Goldwing built in intercom & stereo buy a separate helmet intercom system Well first of all is to lose the cords. But also the built in system never provided enough clarity and volume to make listening to the radio or talking effective at highway speeds. So when I saw the glowing reviews for the SMH10 I thought, well I'll give them a try and if they don't live up to the reviews back they'll go. Well, they're not going back Installation was quick and easy on our modular helmets, loosen two screws on each unit and it slid onto the side of the helmet. I have earphone pockets so the speakers slipped right into place. Total time - about 10 min per helmet.Turn on was easy - just press the two buttons and it's on. You have to pair the headsets together but that went smoothly. I then paired my headset with my cell phone with some difficulty getting the button presses right.Sound quality between the headsets was very good - even at 70 MPH. The other person's voice gets clipped just a bit when they start speaking. I suspect that's part of the noise reduction technology. I also was able to receive calls via my cell phone with good clarity. I will say the voice quality on my end was less than talking directly on the cell but hey, I'm talking while going down the highway at speed. My only complaint is when I'm attempting to switch from intercom to phone and back. Once I'm done on the cell I pressed the large button to return to the intercom mode and it kept telling me Intercom mode failed. Strangely, when my wife pressed the large button on her headset it then re-paired. Maybe it's me not yet familiar enough with the correct button press sequence.Overall I do recommend these headsets for the relative low cost and sound quality.

Great Product - Michael Kan   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Great Price, Easy Install, Exceptional Customer Service
Cons: Always Start Music Stream From Headset, Not Device

My wife and I purchased a set for a tour of Italy. It took about 15 - 20 minutes to install per unit in our HJC helmets. After install I was able to quickly do a software update without any issues. On our trip the headsets would go the entire day on a single charge. It was great to be able to stream music from my iPhone to the headsets. At very high speeds 75mph it was a little hard to hear my wife in the intercom, however I dont feel this was an issue with the product but rather wind noise from our helmets. Here is a tip. Always start and stop your music from the headset and not the device you are streaming from. Originally I tried starting music play from my iPhone and it would only play over one headset not both. I called customer service to see why I was only getting music over one headset and they helped me figure out this problem. They were extremely helpful, and even called me back the next day to make sure everything was working OK In conclusion I am very happy with this product and the company. Without a doubt I would purchase again.

Good comms - Bird Dog   AL Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Clear comms, loud output, secure, easy to learn, universal intercom
    Cons: A little bulky

Upgrade the firmware as soon as you get it to version 5. This gets you speed dial and universal intercom. It will pair with anything I have tried from an old cell phone bluetooth to a Cardo set.Audio is clear, music sounds nice better tone with earplugs. It was so nice to be able to talk to my wife while we were travelling instead of pointing at everything to communicate. You can share music from one headset to the other, both ways. Cell phone calls sound much like you are driving with the window down in a car. The side tone feature lets you hear the quality of your sound as you are speaking.I've not tried other communicators, but I would not hesitate to buy the SMH10 again.

SHM10 Dual - George 3   NY Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Easy to use. LOUD speakers.
Cons: My cell phone had a problem understanding my spoken telephone numbers.

This unit is replacing my Scalarider G9. With the G9, I couldn't understand my rider at speeds above 40 mph with a full face helmet. My Harley is loud. The Sena SMH10 is exactly what I needed in order to hear my spouse. Sounds good at 70 MPH. No radio, but it allows you other options to hear music, etc.. Sounds great when using the telephone too. Easy to operate. The only issue I had was trying to call a telephone number. My cell phone had issues understanding my spoken numbers and it kept dialing other numbers. Not a deal breaker.

great headset - me   CA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: light weight, great sound and easy to use
    Cons: NONE

Easy to install, set up and use this headset. Works great and the battery lasts a long time.

Sena SMH10 - 04Electraglide   ME Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Workmanship, Ease of Set Up and Use, Performance, Cost.
    Cons: None

I bought the Sena SMH10 Dual Intercom Pack with some concerns, as a previous purchase of another brand of built in helmet system had been a real disappointment. I can honestly say that this system lives up to it's advertising and more. The quality and workmanship are first rate. Installation is a breeze and use is easy even with insulated gloves on. The instructions are clear and set up and configuration to your Bluetooth devices couldn't be easier. The sound is clear and the volume is more than adequate. I'm riding an Electra Glide with custom pipes and wear earplugs and I turn the volume down on the unit. The intercom function works very well as do all the settings. I have ours paired to our Andriod Phones for Phone,GPS and Music. I set ours up with the VOX feature and voice prompts, so the unit prompts you through it's usage, which is a help when your on the bike and not looking at the controls. Ride along with intercom function, take a phone call if you want or ignore it, GPS Voice Directions will interrupt the intercom or music. You can set the priority of the various functions of the unit. Clarity is excellent. I've had several people call me and be very surprised that I was on my bike. Set up and pairing of Bluetooth devices is a snap. The controls are simple to operate and as I said before, easy to use with gloves on. The range from unit to unit is as advertised and clarity remained excellent. . The dual pack has several types of chargers for both units, USB, cigarette lighter, or I plug the USB cord into my phones wall charger USB adapter and charge from a wall outlet. You could also charge on the bike with a cigarette or powerlet outlet. MP3 can be plugged into the unit with the supplied cord or Bluetooth paired if your MP3 is compatible. My wife and I have used them several times and I use mine daily commuting to and from work. I'm very impressed with all aspects of the SENA SMH10 and would not hesitate to buy them again, or recommend them to anyone. An excellent product and a real value for the money.

Great - JRL   IN Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: easy to sync, easy to set up and user friendly
Cons: wished you could sync more riders

This is actually my second Sena set, and the fact I purchased a second set first set was destroyed in a fire should tell you a lot about how much I like them. BTW, I have had the scala rider set previous to my first sena unit. They are easy to set up, easy to use, and have really good sound quality.

Great set - Cathy   WI Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Can hook up to 4 riders
    Cons: a bit large

We got these for Christmas. We also got a set for our kids. We all like them a lot. They are easy to use and the sound quality is great. I can't wait to try them out on the road. Wisconsin weather does not allow for riding at this time

Bike-Rider Tested - John Lysaght   NJ Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Convenient, easy interface, good battery life, high quality
Cons: Minor Bluetooth media streaming complaints - see below

I purchased this for my girlfriend and I to ride two-up on my bike and be able to chat listen to music when we ride. I've had the headsets about a month now and have had a chance to test them pretty well.My setupPrimary set paired to Android-based Samsung Galaxy Siii for phone and GPS, iPod Touch for music and secondary unit.Secondary unit paired to iPhone as full-function device for music, phone and GPS paired to primary unit.ProsBattery life I charged these when they arrived in the mail. I ride at least once or twice a week this time of year and nonstop in summer. The batteries are still going strong in both units after a month of mild to moderate riding.Full-Duplex communication I can chat with my passenger easily. There is no 'walkie-talkie' effect of only being able to speak or listen. We can have live conversations easily.Ease of use These really are simple to use. The controls are simple and easy with and without gloves on. Switching between sources and controlling each source is a breeze. Offers playpause, volume, and track advancereturn on bluetooth music is incredible.Voice feedback Sounds insignificant until you use it. If there is an error, it doesn't beep in code at you, it actually TELLS you what error occurred. Also says 'hello' and notifies you as each device connects to it and says 'goodbye' when you turn the headsets off. Truly safe and hands-free notifications.Pauses bluetooth music on interruption If someone intercoms you while you are listening to music from an mp3 player over bluetooth, it pauses the music until you return to that source.Comes with EVERYTHING. Two USB charging cables no AC adapter, two aux-in headphone headsets, clamp-in and stick-on mounts for headsets, both units, and an exceptional user manual.ConsBluetooth music streaming quality with multiple headsets paired When I ride alone, I can listen to music crystal clear from my iPod touch over bluetooth. As soon as it pairs with the second unit which is paired to an iPhone as well I get skips and choppy playback of music through my unit. I don't know if this is due to notifications coming through on the iPhone paired with the second headset or if it is just a glitch, but it can be annoying.NeutralYou do have to read the owner's manual to set it up if you are pairing multiple devices. It is easy, but does take a certain process, especially if you are pairing your smartphone separate from your media device such as an Android phone for callsgps and an iPod with bluetooth for music. The speakers attach to the helmet with velcro backings. This isn't a problem, but something that should be taken note of. If you have a full face helmet not intended for use with a headset unit I personally use an HJC IS-16 you may have some occasional shift in speaker location. You can in theory get the wires for the speakers snagged on your head as you put on take off the helmet, but I bypassed this problem by routing the wiring between the helmet liners and the outer shell of the helmet. The headsets work GREAT in full-face helmets. In a 34 helmet there is some road noise that gets transmitted through the microphone to other headsets. NOTE I have not tested the unit with cell phone use for phone calls.Overall I am VERY happy with my purchase. I think this is a great product and I recommend it to anyone looking for a decent communication headset.

Sena smh10b-dual - ricksr   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: ease of set up, price, extra hardware
    Cons: voice activation recognition

Very nice units that have clear sound. We have issues when trying to call out using voice activation with our iPhone. The iPhone misunderstands our contact commands unless we are going very slow. Easy to operate and install. Also quick and easy updating process.

Love it - Johnboy   VA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Easy to use quick to install.
Cons: Little big off the side of hamlet

Great sound easy to change from music to intercom.

Very satisfied - J. Scott   TX Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Clarity on phone calls, excellent battery life
    Cons: None noticed so far

I bought a pair of these on special. So far, I have a few weeks of use solo only, so I cannot comment on intercom performance. For phone calls, this item works as advertised, if not better. I routinely hear elements of disbelief that I am on a motorcycle at speed from those whom I call. The volume capability is more than enough to handle the fact I regularly use earplugs. Battery life has been more than sufficient -- I have charged the unit once since purchasing about a month ago despite daily use, and I did that only because I was heading out on a weekend road trip. I plan to update my review once I try the intercom function.

Sena smh10 Bluetooth motorcycle headset - Cwlee   NY Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Easy to use and pairing was a breeze. Great battery life.
Cons: Speakers are a bit weak. Setting your iPhone eq to loudness improves sound

Used it over 3 day covering over 1000 miles and the unit was great The dial was easy to use and works great. Voice command to call up phone was a bit challenging but works and can carry on clear phone conversation. Only wished BMW system was a bit more accommodating. You either pair with system and lose phone capability or pair to iPhone directly and lose radio...If you do both it works half the time. For me listening music from my playlist without interruption just add that much more pleasure to a nice ride.
