HD rider - Marie Buckley   FL Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Light but tough leather, wears well, good fit
    Cons: [None]

This style glove is great for warm weather riding. Provides protection while allowing for cooling air flow. Strong but soft leather assures the long time wear.

Nice gloves - Bryan L   AZ Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Nice fit, easy to put on take off, well made
    Cons: None so far

I bought these gloves after a cheaper pair I bought on Amazon blew out on only after a few weeks of use. I've had these for a few months now and they're still going strong with no sign of wear or coming apart. They fit great and are comfortable when riding.

Nice gloves - RR   MI Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: good quality, nice leather, good protection
    Cons: sizefit

Great gloves, seem to run kinda small, had to send back for exchange twice, went with a 2X. Love these gloves great for cold weather durable and protective. All that's left is to get the shorty ones now thanks compacc for workin with me

NIce Gloves - Cal   CO Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: comfortable, warm,
    Cons: None

I really like the fit of the gloves. They are comfortable and they do not create undue pressure when on the grips. I used them in low 30s weather and my hands, especially fingers, stayed warm. Unfortunately, I have not used them in colder or wet weather yet, so I can't comment on that. The only caution I have is to watch the size you buy. I normally wear a large, but tried on some waterproof gloves locally. Some large fit and some XL fit. I decied to go with the XL and they fit perfectly. I am a fan of River Road rain gear after riding dry in 42 days of rain out of 47 on a trip to Alaska. I expect the gloves will be the same quality.

    Cons: none

I have wore them a couple of times now and they perform great. Great look and function for a great price.

as seen in Cycle News - cakapa   WA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: good everyday gloves
Cons: not sure I like the velcro

Gloves were a bit small when I got them but they are getting better as I wear them. I saw these in a Cycle News issue and bought them because they have more protection than regular leather gloves. I like them and looks like I'll get several years of use from them.

Quality gloves - John   IN Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Well made, thinsulate,
    Cons: not pre-curved,

I bought these because of the thinsulate material. they seem a little small for x-large. I would prefer a pre-curved option. Overall I think I got a fine product. I need to break them in.

This review is for River Road Boreal TouchTec Gloves
Nice glove... - Tony   IN Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Not too bulky allows for good tactility warm so far
Cons: wish there was an extra wrist strap

Wore these gloves today for the first time. The only other cold weather gloves I've used are the River Road Cheyenne--so that's my point of referencecomparison. Both gloves offer 70G insulate, but the Boreal feels less bulky to me, so I felt like I had a better feel for the throttle and other controls. This is probably partly becauase the Boreals are nearly all textile with some leather trim and the Cheyennes are still mostly leather. It's probably also because the Cheyenne offers some protective armor on the front side. The Boreal has none of that. So, if you're looking for some armor or protection, the Boreal isn't for you. Rode in 40 degree temps between 0-45mphs for about 15-20 minutes around town and didn't feel any cold coming throught at all. Hands stayed nice and warm. Can't speak yet to temps below 40 or to wet weather, but so far I'm impressed with the warmth. Seem about comparable to the Cheyenne at 40 degrees. There doesn't seem to be any break-in period with these gloves. They're comfortable and broken in right out of the box again, probably because they're most textile. And, they're simple enough that you could use them off the bike, too, without looking like you've got moto gloves on. The gaunlet could be a little wider so that it could cinch down over a jacket cuff a little better. But I'm also wearing a leather jacket that doesn't have really tight cuffs. In fact, I close up the gauntlet tight and put the jacket sleeve over it. Works well that way, too though you get a little cold air going up the sleeve potentially. And with a true motorcycle jacket, I'm sure the gaunlet would cinch down over the cuff just fine.My only complain is that it doesn't have the extra wrist strap like the Cheyennes do. The Boreal has the velcro-cinch gauntlet, but not the additional velro strap at the wrist. I miss that because it doesn't feel like you can really tigthen down the Boreal this is especially a problem for me because I have a bit of extra room in the finger tips with the large, but the medium would be too small. I've worn a large with River Road with the Cheyenne and a pair of plain leather gloves and the large with the Boreal is again the right fit except for the bit of extra room in the fingers. The touch-tech is nice if you need it. Seems to work well enough.

River road waterproof cloves - p99guns   NC Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Fairly easy to put on
Cons: Had to go next size up from normal and little bulky

I did try the normal size I wear and they were just to tight. I went up to the next size which fits good but is little bulkier than I would like. One of the seams on my gloves was already open when receiving them. They do keep my hands warm on my ride home from work on we hours in morning when temps have only reached low 50s. I think they will work ok for the short ride. They are not the best on planet , but I was not expecting them to be for the price.

River Road Firestone Leather Gloves - ankerexley   MT Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Nice shape, true to size, cool in the summer, warm in the cool months.
Cons: velcro wears out easily, the armor in the fingers moves around

All in all, not a bad glove. Not a lot of padding, but I wasn't looking for much. The hook and loop on the wrist strap does wear out very quickly somewhat poor quality. My other issue is with the armor inside. The knuckle armor across the top is fine, but the two sets that cover the lower two knuckles on each finger tend to move around when you take the gloves off. Then, they are in the wrong position when you wear the gloves the next time. The problem with movement gets worse as the gloves wear and stretch, but it also doesn't bother me as much because there's more room in there when you put them on.

This review is for River Road Carlsbad Shorty Leather Gloves
River Road Carlsbad Shorty Leather Gloves - Jerry C   CO Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Very Comfortable, Look Good
    Cons: Velcro rather poor quality

I bought 2 pairs of these to replace a pair that I got 3 years out of before they started to fail. These are priced right and very comfortable. Mt ony complaint is the pair I am using has sub-par velcro. Not a big deal because the straps will stay closed if you mess with them a few times. The second pair doesn't have this issue, must have just been a bad velcro run. If your looking for a good shorty glove, give these a try, you won't be disappointed.

Good value for money - Northwest joe   OR Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Good fit and comfort
Cons: Cuff on glove could be larger to slip over end of jacket sleeve

This is my second pair, replacing pair that was stolen. I find the gloves very comfortable and the fit excellent

Gloves - BG   MO Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Good coverage, soft feel, good padding
Cons: Fit in the finger tips is slightly uncomfortable

Good gloves right out of the box, with good wind protection and padding. Finger tip fit is a little uncomforable kind of like a sock with the stich line at the end of your toes... Have only worn them a couple of times so may be just getting used to them. Good glove and very functional will continue to use these -vs- buy another pair and the price was very good.

Nice light gloves - Richard L   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Light weight, lots of perforations
Cons: A little tight to put on

These are just what I was looking for, a summer glove to replace a pair of First Gear I had but they don't make any longer. They are a little hard to get on. The wrist area could be larger. Once on they fit well. Air comes through them nicely. No complaints.

River Road Custer Gauntlet Leather Gloves - Tom P   MA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Good Quality
Cons: A little on the small side

I purchased a pair of 2X as I read they run a little small. They were indeed a bit snug so I opted to return and replaced with a 3X... They fit perfect now

Average glove - New rider   NC Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Leather, hard nuckle, ventilated
Cons: Wrist strap doesn't get tight, not cut evenly on the fingers

The strap on the wrist is not looped, so if you want to make the gloves very tight- you cant. But they do stay on just fine. Also the fingers of the gloves are not cut evenly so the fingers seem rotated. My first pair were severely rotated. I talked with river road customer service and they sent another pair. Not as rotated but still rotated some. It seems like a lack of quality craftsmanship. As though they were made in a factor without attention to detail. River road customer service is great. I do not think the gel palm is all that noticeable. These gloves are ok but if I needed more I would probably go with a different style or brand.

This review is for River Road Swindler Distressed Leather Gloves
RR Swindler gloves - Mark R.   KY Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: well made and stylish
    Cons: order one size larger

I can't use these gloves. They are too tight, I ordered a large which is right for me, but they are too tight. Otherwise they are well made, but I am stuck with them.

Stay away - SteveV   MI Recommended by Reviewer: No
    Pros: Look nice
Cons: Stitching few apart after just a few rides.

Very nice for the first ride then the stitching started pulling apart. Going back to Tourmaster Air, at least they last a few seasons.
