Hey, this is Reuben at Competition Accessories. This is the video review of the Michelin Pilot Road 3. The Pilot Road 2s were a fantastic tire a lot of guys ran them for a long time with lots of good feedback. The Pilot Road 3s look to be even better. These tires have been out for a little while now. Weve sold a ton of them and have had a lot of good customer feedback on them. Michelin calls the tread pattern their excite technology, basically what they have done on both the front and rear is provided you with a lot of grooves in the tread to evacuate water so as your riding these grooves are going to push the water away from the tire and as you can see there are sipes running crossways across the tread as well. Thats going to give you very, very good traction in the wet. Another thing that Michelin has incorporated into these tires are their dual compound technology. The Pilot Power 2CT has been a very good, popular sport bike tire for a long time. They brought that technology to the Pilot Road 3. Basically you have a harder compound running down the center of the tread and that going to prevent the tires from flat spotting if you do a lot of highway miles or commuting, not all your riding is in the twistys the center ridge of this tire is going to wear longer than the sides are and what happens is as you get over into the side of the tire in a turn they actually use a softer rubber so that you get better grip cause obviously when your in a turn that when you need the most grip. So if you ride a sport-touring bike, you do a lot of highway miles, or you do a lot of touring or commuting these tires are really going to be an excellent choice. They are going to last a lot longer than a pure sport bike tire. So check them out online on our website at competitionaccessories.com and well see ya next time.
Information and Details about the Michelin Pilot Road 3 Dual Compound Motorcycle Tires - Z-Rated - Package Special
made by Michelin
Building on the tremendous reputation Michelin has built over the years, the Michelin Pilot Road 3 Tire is the successor to the award winning Pilot Road 2. Michelin Pilot Road 3 Tires were developed using Michelin's newest technology and results in an innovative design for maximizing wet traction with its X Sipe Technology, (XST). Michelin Pilot Road 3 Tires are constructed out of a special dual compound, 2CT, that enhances cornering power and road grip, while resisting wear at the tread's center. Excellent in wet conditions, Michelin Pilot Road 3 Tires are unbeatable on dry roads as well. Environmentally sound, patented Michelin Pilot Road 3 Tires will make your next road trip, one of your best.

Revolutionary X-Sipes technology maximizes wet traction
  • Michelin’s newest technology delivers all-weather performance without compromising tread life or handling
  • Patented innovation resulting from years of research and development
  • Sipes increase the tread's drainage capacity and generate pressure at the edge of the sipe blade, which help break through water film

Dual compound technology combines tread life and cornering grip
  • 2CT incorporated into all tire sizes, front and rear
  • Wider soft-compound shoulders on the front tire, compared to its predecessor

    High performance and environmentally sound
  • 100% non-aromatic-oil rubber compound
  • All tires listed are "Z" rated tires

Note: Tires marked with an * are designed for loaded touring or 2-Up Riding

Great Tires - Chuck35   GA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Great ride, traction, wet performance
    Cons: Pricey

I just ordered my 2nd set. These stick well and last a long time. I have around 12,000 miles on my current set and another 1000 left.

Finally wore out the rear - Randy   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: GRIIIIP and loong life
    Cons: I can't marry them.

Ok, I wanted to follow up my post I wrote around SeptOct 2012. It is currently middle-ish April 2013 and I have over 9000 hard miles on them. This has been canyons, hard starts and stops, superslabs of over 300 miles a day etc. Basically, riding as I wanted to, not babying the tires. I have done drag strip style starts, minus the burn out, and many sudden slow downs and stops. Some just for the fun of it and to practice emergency stopping. No chicken strip on the rear and the front is near the edge. Again, not babying them by any measure. My bike is over 500 lbs and with all my gear on, I am over 250lbs. What I have found is that the tires did square off a little when I ran them for a while with too much pressure in them. Probably 38ish up front and 40ish rear. I lowered the pressure and proceeded to some canyons and pretty much eliminated the squaring in the rear, but the front is a little flat in the middle. This makes the front feel a little light, but nothing of concern for me.The tires have worn very evenly front and rear and while the front has more tread than the rear, it has worn as well, surprisingly on the sides a little more than the middle, but with all the canyons I hit, I am not too surprised. BUT, they have 9000 miles, so who am I to complainI have ridden year round in SoCal, however, this past winter we had about 3 weeks with temps as low as 30 degrees. I know, cry me a river... I lived in Wyoming and Montana, so, I know exactly how that sounds. For purposes of this review though, I just take it easier the first few miles until the tires have some heat in them and then it's something I no longer think about. IF you have any hesitation about this tire, be done with it. They grip in rain. The grip at high speed. They grip at high lean angles and while powering out of curves. NEVER have I had these tires give me pause. I give them my ABSOLUTE trust. If I could give them 10 stars it wouldn't be enough. Do yourself a favor, just buy them. You will not regret it. The return on investment in stability, security and peace of mind with these tires far outweighs the price, believe me Oh, when I bought my set for my 05 VFR, they were substantially higher, as I needed them then and there when I bought the bike in Las Vegas and I was facing a 300 mile ride home, so I had to buy them locally on a Sunday. Even at the 450 that I paid for them at whatever store it was, they are a very high value. This price Buy two sets

Pilot Road 3 - Jim   CA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Longevity, Grip, Wet Performance, Balance
    Cons: Cost

I have come full circle with most of the sport touring tires available. My previous favorite was the Pilot Road 2 tires. The new favorite is the Pilot Road 3. These tires deliver all the good qualities of the PR2 to a higher standard. I have mounted 2 set of PR3 and each time have achieved 10000 miles plus useful wear with my R1200RT. This is better mileage than any other tire I have tried by a large margin. As a plus, the wear is not concentrated on the center. The round profile is still good when the tire is ready for replacement. Handling remains good up to replacement. This means an 8000 mile ride is started with the confidence the new set of tires will bring me home with tread to spare. No other tire has done this for me. The Grip is outstanding and if you exceed the limits the tires will give a progressive warning rather than a sudden loss of traction. The PR3s are at the top for grip in a sport touring tire.I have had occasion to ride entire days in the rain with these tires and they do not disappoint. They are very effective at displacing standing water if you are riding at a reasonable pace for the conditions. Finally, the quality is built into these tires. Minimum weight for balance is needed and the construction has held up to road hazards encountered.I would highly suggest these tires for a sport touring application. They carry a premium cost but that is offset by longer tire wear and quality construction.

Excellent tires - Randy   CA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Long lasting and grip hard
    Cons: [None]

I have a pair on both my 2005 Honda VFR and my 2000 Triumph Sprint RS. I have over 5000 miles on the set on my Triumph and about 2000 on my VFR and I have many thousands of miles left on both bikes. I originally bought them for my Triumph because I commuted 74 miles a day, 6 days a week. On that bike I needed something that would hold up to the superslab and the canyons. These tires have done just that. I ran them at around 32 psi front and rear and they performed flawlessly. I have been able to scrape the pegs on both bikes and I have never felt out of control nor have I had my confidence in them shaken at all. I have hit paint stripes an tar snakes both and while there was a very brief 14 second slip, never have I been afraid. Now that I think about it, the tires have only slipped on paint when they are cold and if I run them around 3436 psi. Some friends and I did a 250 mile loop from Malibu up through the Los Padres forest and that included some very spirited riding and for this trip I was riding my VFR, my friends were running Ducati 848's a BMW S1000rr and a BMW K1300HP4 and they were all running Dunlop Q2s, and they are track regulars. I had no reason to not trust my tires and I kept right up with them at very fun speeds These tires absolutely rocked it and they were pumped up to about 3436 because I forgot to reduce the pressure for the ride. It turns out I didn't need to. Dry roads, wet roads, it didn't matter. We rode in temps from the high forties to mid seventies all on the same day and it didn't matter. They just kept on gripping.Unless I go to the track, I have no desire to run any other tires then the PR3s. They are that good

From a 20k Rider, Best Tire Ever - Barrett in Cary   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Great Wet Weather Tire and Very Good Dry Performance Also
Cons: None, except the tread design just looks funky, but works.

Currently running on a 2003 Suzuki SV1000N. I put over 20k miles per year on a bike. This is a combination of commuting and spirited weekend rides with other sportbikers the occassional trip with bags. Over the years, I have run a number of different tires looking for that perfect balance between performance and long life. Tires I have tried in the past have usually lasted me from less than 2k to a little over 5k. I have had my current set of R3s for about 10k miles. The front probably has a few thousand more miles lift and rear probably another 1k. This has by far been the best all around tire I have ever owned. Looking forward to picking up another set.

I ride a 2009 ABS Concours. I ride year round, just over 100 miles round trip to work and home each day...mostly country roads. I replace the OEM Bridgestone tires at 7500 miles because the rear had worn and was showing the steel belts. The new Michelin PR 3 rear was replaced after being used for just over 10,000 miles and the front was replaced after 16,000 miles. I am about to replace the second rear PR 3 after 10,000, which should speak for how much I like these tires. I ride fast and excelerate quick so the PR 3's get a good workout. I've ridden in down pours and in a blizzards where I had trouble keeping my face shield clear. The PR 3's have never given me any cause to be nervous or leary of their grip.

    kemlyn NH
I ride a 2010 C14 Concours the OEM Bridgestone’s went 7464 miles they were flat spotted, cupped and high centered from 5000 miles wore them right to the fiber. I've had good luck with Michelin tires in the past after reading reviews I decided to make the change. I commute 80 miles round trip each day to work and ride in all kinds of weather the PR3' have proven to be outstanding. The PR3's look great with 6000 miles I would project in the 12k range before the next replacement. Also went to nitrogen and ceramic balancing beads no more tire weights and big improvement in C14 turn in.

pr3 front - T   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: excellent in all conditions
Cons: higher price than the PR2

I had the PR3 front on my 2007 FZ1, with the PR2 rear. I had no complaints at all. I commute over 80 miles a day into SF. Whether on the highways or in the city, it performed great, in sunshine, wind, fog & rain. I HAD 16,000 MILES WHEN I REPLACED IT I will caution everyone that this tire prefers a higher than normal pressure. I started at 36, and ended up at 39 psi.The only reason that I did not rate it 5 stars, is because of the higher cost.

Not as good as the pr2 - Merlinus   FL Recommended by Reviewer: No
Pros: Still a good wet tire & a smooth ride
Cons: Feels unsteady, tends to wander

I've had these for about 5000 miles now and want them to wear out so I can go back to the PR2's. The PR2's had such a solid road feel that inspired confidence. I thought the PR3's would be just that much better. Not so, once I got these tires on I lost the feel of the road and havn't felt it since. It always feels like the front wants to slide out or change directions on me, it hasn't but it is still unnerving. other than the feel these tires do provide good grip in any condition when needed. Wear is similar to my experience with the PR2's.

Over 11,000 miles on R1200RT - JMR   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Good milage, even with two-up.
Cons: Road noise, but not very much.

Got the 'B Rated' rear because my riding is two-up 50 of the time. The PR2s did so well on handling and milage, I bought another set..and I will keep buying these. No cupping issues at all. I used balancing beads inside the tires and I highly recommend. I could have surpassed 12000 miles if I had pushed things a little, but I had the new tires sitting there and I just couldn't wait any longer.

These tires BEG you to corner harder - xpertsnowcarer   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Dual compound, fast warm up time, impressive in the water
    Cons: None yet

Those of you, like myself, that had and loved the Pilot Power 2CT tires and travel any faster than 75MPH on the highway, know the center of the tire wore pretty fast. You could even see small pieces of tire balling up along the center after a simple cruise. With the Pilot Power 3, that is no longer the case. The center isn't wearing out as fast as the 2CT. The tread pattern is better, leaving the corners of the tire looking like a slick tire. Let's face it, no one leans that far over in the wet, especially on the street with paint everywhere. I started off with the tires a little too inflated 38psi both, but the handling was superb and great for highway cruising. The tires are very responsive to emergency maneuvers.. But, that Psi would be a bit too stiff for canyon lovers like myself. I keep them at 32F, 33R psi for the canyons. I have yet to go to the track, but Id probably have the tires closer to 30F, 32F psi. All depends on how hot the track is though. Ive used these tires for 3000 miles already on a 2004 Honda 919. I have peg risers, so I've reached the entire lean range. They are very confidence inspiring to the experienced rider, so I definitely recommend them for the weekend warrior.

Amazing tire - A41capt   AZ Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Versatile, great performer
    Cons: None so far

I was skeptical at first, I'm the first to admit it, but it didn't take me long to realize that this tire was everything Michelin said it was. On the road it snakes through the twisties like a street tire, off road it runs like an enduro tire. Mud, not so much, but then again, you can't have it all

Great - got20z   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Wet grip, dry grip, design, look, longevity, fast warm up.
    Cons: Price.

I ride a 2007 R6.Love these tires. Excellent grip on wet or dry surfaces. I have about 2k on a set and they look new still. Most of those 2k miles are riding 2 up and a lot of highway riding. This normally causes more wear but they are holding up and are not squaring off. You can drop down on mountain roads on these and don't have to worry about losing grip, they hang right in there like glue. I have owned about every brand of tire and these are my new favorites. Worth the extra money over economy priced tires.

LONG LIFE TIRES - Perko   IL Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Great wear and grip both wet and dry
    Cons: Nothing lasts forever

I'm on my 3rd set of these and after trying Conti Motions 4,000 miles and BT023 GT's 6,000 miles I don't want to run anything else. I'm averaging 10,000 miles from a set here in the flat and curveless state of HeILLinois. They are a great value and work best on my C14. SS

Best sportbike tires - jf954rr   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Excellent grip, long life, dual compound, larger area of soft rubber on edges
Cons: They are not as light as the old Michelin Pure tire

These tires work great on my CBR954rr. My old Pilot power tires would slip and spin under hard 1st gear acceleration, these new Pilot Power 3's don't slip around at all. The also look cool and last longer, what more could you ask for

Great tire - JAH   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: long lasting tire over 10k and can grip the corners just as well as any sport tire
Cons: front is a little slow on the turn.

i got 10.5k miles on my front tire. it finally started getting to the wear bars. they feel great and are just as good as any sport tire out there. the only thing i would complain about them in that the front tire is more U shaped and doesn't allow you to flick a turn as hard as a regular sport tire's V shape. but you should be able to get 10k miles out of them. i'll take that anyday

C-14 Long Lasting Tires - Greg   AL Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Secure handling and long-lasting
    Cons: None

The OEM tires on my 2009 C14 lasted 7200 miles front and 8600 rear. I just had my second set of PR2s mounted at 20,959 miles. The numbers don't lie- my PR2s lasted 13,800 front and 12,400 rear, and they still had some tread left. The front was cupped some and the rear had squared off, so I thought it was time for a new set. Choosing the PR2s again was a no-brainer. Get a set- you will love them.

Perfect tires for any street condition - Leprechaun   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Great grip on cold and wet roads as well as hot and dry roads and they last
    Cons: No faults

These are great tires and the package deal is so good for my Triumph Tiger 1050. They not only have a nice looking tread, but these tires are really effective in both wet and slippery road conditions as well as rides on those days with perfect conditions. They seem to warm up quickly and provide great grip leaning into corners as well as handling high milelage mundane freeway rides. These really rolls into corners nice and provide much more confidence at any speed. Very stable and quiet. Not sure why I would buy any other tires.

Perfect IronButt tires - BlackBird '99   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Durability, grip
    Cons: [None]

I mounted these tires on my CBR11XX in 2011 for a cross country trip, hoping for 10K. 2 IronButt and cross the US trip later, the tires have finally ran out of tread. Hot desert, drenched South and freezing Yellowstone the tires performed flawlessly. Great on the highway but also great on such a heavy bike in the twisties, I scraped the footpeg feelers so grip at high lean angle was never a problem. In 2012 I mounted them on my Hayabusa, ran them coast to coast, 1200 miles in California's twisties and still had life left to do another 2000 miles on them.Great tires

Pros: Best all-round tire for commutingsemi-spirited riding
    Cons: None

Most riding is done in PNW. Rear still had quite a ways to go before the wear bars. Decided to replace both before a long trip. Quick warm up times even in the 30s. Turn-in was way better than OEM Metzler Z6s. Confidence-inspiring even with pegs scraping on slightly banked 90s in Central Oregon.

Pros: Great tire, can take a beating, best bang for the bucks
    Cons: None

These tires have performed well through the heat, storms, rain, highway miles, The Gap, and rough back roads of WVA. This is the best performing tire i have ever used on my C-14 I am at odds over choosing this tire again and the PR3. With almost 40,000 miles on my bike I can truly say that this bike is tough and unforgiving on tires that can't own up to its power and the tasks of sport touring. The PR2s lived up to the challenge and continue to do so. They have saved me mega bucks One set over the price of two or three and installation of the other brands Once again, 11,000 miles and counting

    Pros: Trusted feel and grip
    Cons: [None]

I bought these to replace the OEM Pilot Powers that came on my 2006 Ducati S2R. The original tires lasted 10k miles, 12k from the 2nd set, and I got 14k from the 3rd set. You're thinking impossible right I know, no one believes me but my service tech. I keep my tire pressures at 32psiF, and 34psiR and I guess I'm just not heavy on the throttle since I mainly use my moto for commuting. But rest assured, I've always trusted these tires enough in the twisties to get rid of the chicken strips Competition Accessories always has the best deals on tires and I just bought a set of Pilot Road 3s from them since I've relocated to a more tropical climate where I'm pretty sure I'll get caught in the rain more. Thanks again CompAcc Always the best service and prices

9440 mile tires on a ZX12-R - K.S. Boston   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Long life tire with incredible traction.
Cons: If someone finds a con to these tire let me know, because I can't

9440 miles out of the Pilot Road 2 on a Kawasaki ZX12-R is incredible. I could barely squeak over 3500 miles out of BT-016s. I tried my hardest to find an issue with these tires, and failed to do so. From pushing a 177 horsepower 500 pound hyper-bike through the corners in the North Carolina mountains to super slabbing at warp speed, these tire never failed to impress me. Wet weather traction is so good that lifting the front tire in a rain storm isn't an issue. Great tires in the rain. I tried to get the tires to break loose trail breaking VERY deep into a corner, once I felt the front start to lose traction, letting off the front brake they hooked right back up. Very confident inspiring tire in the corners The warm up time is fairly short, even on a sub 32 degree day. The only time the back tire let go, was on a wet road with the tires still cold. All around great sport touring tire, very high mileage and dang near velcro in the corners. You get plenty of warning if they try to let loose, nothing abrupt, and very predictable. No cupping on the front tire what so ever and the back barely flat spotted. Track day tires they are not, and I'd never expect them to be. I'll never run a Sport tire again as long as Michelin continues to make these. Thanks to Competition Accessories for a great deal on an awesome set of tires

2007 Yamaha FJR1300 - Michael   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Great wear, great traction
Cons: Rear tire slow to break in, wet traction on rear is horrible until broke in

I own a 2007 FJR1300 and I purchased these tires about 2 years ago. I have approx 6,500 miles on them. You can really feel when you start to use the soft rubber on the front tire. It will grip and makes the bike turn very nicely. As far as wear goes, the tire comes with 632nds on the front and 832nds on the rear. I measured them after 6500 miles and I have 332nds on the front and 632nds on the back. Based on those numbers, I expect to get about 10-12k miles on the front and about 20-24k miles from the rear. Great wearing tire. As far as the grip goes in the wet, the rear is slippery until broke in. I think it took about 2-3k miles to finally get the rear broke in. In the wet, when engine braking, the rear would always lose traction and skate around. Overall, a great tire and I will definitely be staying with Michelin. The make great tires for just about anything that has or needs a tire.

Just went through my first rear tire on a cbr 600rr. Lasted 6500 miles of mixed riding. The front still has a good amount of tread on it. Handles very well and sticks to the ground great. Had the stock Dunlops before these and WOW!!! night and day difference. Getting the new tire mounted tomorrow morning.

I'm pretty sure the front tire will last until i use up another rear one. i hope they don't stop making these tires, cause they last really well.
You know how it is...when they make something good they stop making it lol. Anyway, if you want a tire with great grip and great tread life, then this is the best tire out there, PERIOD! PILOT ROAD 2CT!!!

Excellent tire. The didn't take long to scuff in and stayed planted through the whole process. I have these on an 07 SV1000S and they have about 2000 miles with very little signs of wear. They have a quicker turn in than the Bridgestones BT016 I have on my GSXR 1000 but give up a little high speed stability for it. They really gave my slow pig a quick feel. I don't think you could get a much better tire for around town riding or quick blitzes down canyons.

I was always a fan of the original Pilot Powers, but I'm just coming off a set of crappy Conti Road Attacks which I decided to try on my 99 Hayabusa. The Contis only gave me about 3K, and they were complete junk the entire time they were on my bike. Skittish, poor feedback. The bike never felt planted.

Moving back to the Michelins, I could not be happier with the 2CT. They are an instant confidence builder. I only have a couple hundred miles on them so far, so I can't speak about longevity just yet. But if I get 3,000 good miles out of them, I will be happy. It's nice to be back on Michelins.

I own a 2005 Benelli Tornado RS. I've got about 1,000 miles on these now and there's very little sign of wear. I rode an entire day in a freezing rainstorm and was pushing through deep puddles on the highway at about 80 mph with no trouble at all. I was more afraid than the tires were, they showed no sign of hydroplaning or loss of grip.

I've also done some deep cornering at high speeds in the mountains and have not lost traction once. I'm going to push the tires more this year and see how hard I can go on them.
I will never buy anything besides michelin. They're the best I've ever ridden on. Riding for 15 years.

Perfect all-around street tires, love them on my R1. Great grip plenty for even aggressive street riding, great handling, awesome wear, and they are good in the rain. Had Pilot Powers on before and rarely had a chance to use their grip, especially because they wore out so soon. Over 10k mi on front and still looking good, only replaced rear because I ran over a big piece of steel that put a 1" slice through the casing.

I decided to try new rubber, having run Dunlops, Pirelli Strada's and Metzler Z-6's - the Z-6's being my preferred hoops. These PRII's surpass even the Z-6's even without a full scrub in! The response is incredible, tip in razor sharp and completely sure footed. Handling in downpours has been a non issue - very planted as well as in dry. These PRII's are now my hoops of choice!

Makes cornering a dream, I was getting on average 2.5k per set of pilot power - I switched to the 2CT and got almost 6K off of this set alone. Just ordered another set....

First off thanks to Competition Accessories for an outstanding price and super fast delivery!!!! 5 Star service!! I mounted these on my 08 GSXR 1000 that I recently purchased. It's a brand new left over and after 3000 miles in one month it was time for new tires. These tires are awesome. I rode this past Sunday 9-12-10 456 miles of twisty roads in Arkansas, and I am an aggressive street rider on the back roads. Not one clitch, slip or bad feedback from these tires. If you need more grip from a tire then you better be on the track with race tires, period!!!! I don't know how they stack up in the rain as of yet, but I will find out. I am totally confident in these tires, and if they last twice as long as the others I've used then they are well worth the money spent. Until something different from Michelin comes along these will be the only street sportbike tires I will ever run!!!! I am now a believer and faithful follower of the Pilot Road 2 CT tires.

    Lenguado FJR
These are awesome tires!!! Best I have had on my FJR - bar none. Gone through a number of sets of OEM Bridgestones and Metzlers - and the Pilot Road 2's are exceeding all of my expectations. About to turn over 10,000 miles on my current set - with maybe a few thousand left. Not BS there - very serious.

I ride hard drag toes & pegs and my bike is usually pretty heavy from all the gear I normally ride with. I just got back from two days on the Blue Ridge Pkwy and The Dragon with these tires having over 9,000 miles on them - and they didn't miss a beat. Passed some sport bikes on the Dragon with them - with no worries in the hard corners.

These tires stick in the turns, but have longevity needed for touring. And 100 wet weather confidence. I put over 4,500 miles on a trip from Orlando to Tucson on this current set right after I put them on the bike - and they showed no wear after that trip. These are AWESOME Super Sport Touring tires!!!!!!

I have 2500 miles and really like these tires...they make my K1200 handle much much better. The more I think about it, 2-compound is a great idea for sport tourers, should be the norm. Tires are light and heat-up pretty fast, turn-in is medium to fast, mid-corner is stable yet fairly changable on my heavy Beemer. a problem before w/Metzlers

Since changing to these tires it has been like buying a new bike. Awesome! Got 6k miles on the last pair on my Suzuki Bandit 1250sa 2008. front one was still looking good but I always change both tires at the same time. Competition Acces. has the best service, prices, and speedy delivery. Wow, I felt like a dealer receiving my tires in two days. I also bought a new helmet from CA now. This store ROCKS and I'm letting everyone know. Buy with confidence you will be pleased.. This store has exceeded my expectations. THANKS CA!

K1200RS - This has been the best - bar none - tire I have used to date. I ride everyday between commuting and days off that there is no ice unless the temperature drops below my personal limit of 26 degrees. Great rain tire and the wear or lack of it is superior. I have lost more tires to nails than anything else.

    Blackbird Owner
I have been with the Michelin Food Chain since the Macadam 90X was OEM on my Blackbird. I then went to the 100x, Pilot Road and HPX. I experienced some front tire warpage and cupping with the Macadams and Roads after about 4000 miles and flat spots after about 5000 on the rears. I currently have the Road 2's and I am blown away. I am an aggressive distance rider and ride in ALL weather conditions including sleet on occassion Canada. My Road 2's have over 7000 miles on them currently and they literally still look new. The performance is the best I have ever experienced in any Michelin ever. I will buy these again without question. Bye the way, this is also the first time I have used dyna beads for balancing...I am also convinced this has been a major contributor to the tire life and excellent wear characteristics I am experiencing. One more thing...Cheers to Compacc for the bets tire recomendations, tire prices and service 2nd to none.

    RT Rider
I love these tires... I only average about 6K out of a set on my RT unlike the people who claim to get 10K plus out of them. Different styles of riding i guess... I don't ride super agressive but have been know to drag a peg now and then. They have great cornering, wet traction, dry traction and seem to warm up without to much effort. This is my 4th set and somebody will have to come up with something pretty spectacular to get me to switch. These tires ride awesome consistently, day to day, mile to mile. Highly recommended!

Got 9,247 miles out of my Pilot Power tires. Based on the recommendation of my local bike shop I switched to Pilot Road 2's. 2,000 miles in and I can't even see any wear. They handle great for all of the twisties and stick really well when the road is wet. I expect to get between 15,000 - 18,000 miles out of these duel compound tires, which is great on a 500 lbs BMW R12S.

Great Tire - NWms   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Great price point, comfortable, great grip & wear, balances easily
Cons: Will squirm at a moderate lean angle and in extreme heat wet grip could be slightly better

Have a set front and rear on a '01 1200 Bandit. Have a little over 3k miles of mixed commuting mostly , touring, twisty roads, year 'round riding replacing Dunlop D414s. Comfortible ride with good grip as long as the lean angle isn't too extreme. Will also squirm a bit in desert SW heat but always very predictible. While damp roads are no problem, wet road grip while not scary in any way could be slightly better. Mounted and balanced very easliy and are wearing well. As long as the price is right the Michelin Power Pilot series is surely a superior tire.

Awesome grip - Speed 3   CA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Price, Grip, Feedback.
Cons: 3k only from the rear. Power Pilot 3s are now available

I have used nothing on my '09 Triumph Speed Triple except these tires since I went through the stock ones. These are great tires. I ride only in the canyons and track days. The only downside is that I blow through rear tires, about 3k miles is average. Admittedly I do ride them hard, but still. Going to try the Pilot Power 3's next. I've heard good things.

Pros: New tread, great in corners
    Cons: Longevity, compound integrity

Tires haven't lasted nearly as long as my old 2ct I will buy one more rear to stay with the same tire but as soon as my front is done I'm going BACK to the 2ct tires.

I don't know how anyone can rate a tire without wearing it out, especially motorcycle tires. I get around 6-7K out of a PR rear, 7-8K our of a Z6, 6-7 from Storms, and 10-13 from ME880s. I am on my second set of PR2's with 6K and maybe I will get 2K more, I only got 7K on my first PR2 rear. This wear is about equal to the Z-6's overall. The PR are inspiring in the corners and allow edge to edge wear without concern. I like them, but don't like the speed in which they wear out.

    RT rider
I am on my second set of these having been through about five sets of Conti Road Attack tires I was desperate for something with good wet and cornering but longevity. I was getting as little as three grand out of rears and five on fronts riding two up a lot and switched to these Road twos with better result. I got about seven on the rear first time around and about seven and a half on the front. The fronts fooled me I thought they'd go much longer. They make a humming sound in the front and the rears vibrate and the first rear cupped badly a first for me as mostly fronts cup . These were the opposite . They say there is a "b" version and so far I have not seen them so this may be the inconsistency in rear mileage as a second tire was bought without regard to B signage and it really sounds fuzzy in a hard lean with two up. Almost like a bad bearing sound and feel. Aside from noise and vibration they wear better stick as good and get better mileage fuel has been noticeably better than the contis I was using. Oh and they feel much more surefooted on uneven and loose surfaces like gravel. I really like them noise notwithstanding.

Someone said they are out of production though due to a new model, I have not been able to verify that.

so far, 1200 miles on the tires and such a totally different feel of the road and cornering on my 1400 Connie. I really enjoy these tires and they also work well on wet surfaces. I only got 6k off of my OEM set of Bridgstones and hope to get at least that or more.

My road 2 tire lasted 5,000 miles before it went bald on the sides.
this is about 40 better then a true sport tire for me at about 30 higher price then many sport tires. mine was very slippery for the first 100 miles and I would rate wet weather traction at a B- dry traction was OK with knee down riding possible. bump obsorbtion was maybe a C and turn in was very fast twitchy would be a good description.
part of the descrepency may be in riding style, expectations, or the fact that some of these tires are made in france while others are made in Thailand. Mine said made in thailand on the side.
