Hey, this is Reuben at Competition Accessories. This is the video review of the Michelin Pilot Road 3. The Pilot Road 2s were a fantastic tire a lot of guys ran them for a long time with lots of good feedback. The Pilot Road 3s look to be even better. These tires have been out for a little while now. Weve sold a ton of them and have had a lot of good customer feedback on them. Michelin calls the tread pattern their excite technology, basically what they have done on both the front and rear is provided you with a lot of grooves in the tread to evacuate water so as your riding these grooves are going to push the water away from the tire and as you can see there are sipes running crossways across the tread as well. Thats going to give you very, very good traction in the wet. Another thing that Michelin has incorporated into these tires are their dual compound technology. The Pilot Power 2CT has been a very good, popular sport bike tire for a long time. They brought that technology to the Pilot Road 3. Basically you have a harder compound running down the center of the tread and that going to prevent the tires from flat spotting if you do a lot of highway miles or commuting, not all your riding is in the twistys the center ridge of this tire is going to wear longer than the sides are and what happens is as you get over into the side of the tire in a turn they actually use a softer rubber so that you get better grip cause obviously when your in a turn that when you need the most grip. So if you ride a sport-touring bike, you do a lot of highway miles, or you do a lot of touring or commuting these tires are really going to be an excellent choice. They are going to last a lot longer than a pure sport bike tire. So check them out online on our website at competitionaccessories.com and well see ya next time.

Pilot Road 3 is a Good overall motorcycle tire - Adam J OH

Pros: grippy, handles well in wet conditions, solid feel on dry pavement
Cons: tire split
I purchased this tire last year and has been a pretty good tire. Last week, on my way home, the tire started to deflate. I go into my driveway and quickly inspected it for a nail and I did not find one. The next morning, I tried to inflate the tire and found the source of the leak. There was a rip in the tire about 4 inches long, that extended down into the braid. I feel pretty confident that I did not run anything over that would cause a cut of any sort. Up until then, the tire was very grippy in pretty much every weather condition I rode in. It handled it all very well. I hope this was an issue with just the one tire.
