Information and Details about the Michelin Pilot Road 2 Dual Compound Tires - Z-Rated - Rear
made by Michelin
Michelin Pilot Road 2 Tires were developed using Michelin's newest technology and resulted in an innovative design for maximizing wet traction. Michelin Pilot Road 2 Tires are constructed out of a special compound that enhances cornering power and road grip to give a sure footed feeling on the road. Although Michelin Pilot Road 2 Tires are excellent in wet conditions, they are unbeatable on dry roads as well. Environmentally sound, patented Michelin Pilot Road 2 Tires will make the next road trip on your bike feel like the best you've ever had.

Until now, you had to make a choice: the grip of a softer tire - or the durability of a harder tire? But thanks to Michelin 2CT dual-compound technology, MICHELIN® Pilot® Road 2 tires offer both grip and durability in one tire. By integrating a soft rubber compound on the tread shoulders with a wear-resistant compound down the middle, Michelin gives you the best of both worlds. The Pilot® Road 2 tire is like two tires in one.

  • Best combination of wet grip and tread life of any comparable tire, confirmed in independent testing*
  • Rider confidence in challenging conditions
  • 12 sizes covering 94% of all sport touring radial fitments
  • The only dual-compound tire in the sport touring segment
  • Innovative front and rear tread designs
  • Winner, 2009 Motorrad and Moto Revue sport touring tire tests
  • 180/55 ZR 17 rear also available in a 'B' version, specifically designed for loaded sport touring or riding two-up.

Incredible - cimdraft   NM Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Great road feel, progressive turn in
    Cons: Too soon to tell

Only took one ride, but could immediately tell the difference in handling on my FZ1. Most noticeable was the very smooth, progressive lean into corners, not just falling over into the turn like my previous Dunlop Roadsmart's. I didn't notice any lack of grip on the first ride, but was not pushing it too much. Good Value

Transformed K1100LT - Buzzard   MI Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Grip, Grip, Grip, and Grip Smooth, Progressive Response, too
    Cons: Too New To Say

Just put a set of the Pilot Road 2s on a 1993 BMW K1100LT I picked up recently. This matched set of Michelin radials far outperforms the fossilized mix & match bias tires the motorcycle had - handling consistency and ultimate grip are far superior. Will follow up later in the summer to update on their performance after I've toted up more than a couple hundred miles.

Ironbutt on a Hayabusa - Paul   NC Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Very durable, good grip
    Cons: [None]

I put new MP Road 2 tires on my 2011 Hayabusa in preparation for an Ironbutt challenge. After 5600 miles in 5 days, almost exclusively on freeways, the tire is only now showing some signs of squaring off. A similar tire on the same bike and on my '99 CBR11XX lasted close or more than 10k miles. These are perfect for long trips even on such heavy bikes.

si - Tom   FL Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: smooth riding
    Cons: none

Total difference from the old tires. When coming to stop steering is not affected . Other than that can not say any more since I rode the bike only 100 miles.

PR2's ROCK - MotoChooch   MA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: High mileage tyre, awesome wet grip, even wear...
Cons: None to speak of,... order these

My 3rd set of these badboys on my R1100S, getting over 10K on each set of these and couldn't be happier with the price, performance and high mileage... I ride with a few guys and we cover serious ground all over the U.S., prolly do more time in the saddle in rain and downpours than the 'chrome plated farm equipment' rides in sunshine... this is where these tyres really perform... You can ride these aggressively and still get even wear, front and rear, although there's slightly more rubber left on the front at change out time,... Try em',... you'll like em'

Great Tire - Charles, Orange Park. Fl .   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Long Life
    Cons: None

Got 19,000 miles on the rear tire before picking up a nail riding a Daytona 675. Ride a lot in the rain in Fla. .

Good Tire - John in SC   SC Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Good handling, quite, long life.
Cons: May be replaced by PR#

The dual-compound construction works very well, the shoulders of these tires stick well in the turns and the center portion lasts longer than other tires I've ran in the past. Because 30-40 of my riding is two-up, I went with the B-rated for heavier loads....got almost 12,000 miles out of the PR2s. I started to try the PR3s when getting new tires, but why change what works well already....I bought another set of PR2s

My Review - Bugs   KY Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Tread Life, Traction
    Cons: None

I have run these tires over the last several years. Rear tire on the St1300 i get 10-12K miles.Front 12-16k.

pilot road 2 tires - greg   OH Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: good milage and grip
Cons: exspensive compaired to other sport touring tires

I have a 2nd set of these on a 97' rf900 and got very close to 9000 miles. Great tires and I ride them like I stole them. So what I'm saying is, I didn't baby them to get the high miles. A

Michelin PR2's - Joe   OK Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Amazing grip and feel for the road.
    Cons: None

These tires rock These make my 08 Speed Triple feel lighter and steering is much more fluid and responsive. I've only put a couple of hundred miles on 'em so I can't comment on wear but for the price I have no doubts I made the right choice with the Michelin PR2's. Thanks Comp Acc.

Perfect tires for me - cruisinnc   NC Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: sticky, tread life, good, quiet ride
    Cons: Are there any

I put these on my previous bike and they were great. When I upgraded to a bigger bike I knew these were what I would put on it. I'm not what I would call agressive at all and I take care of my bike. I have consistently gotten at least 10k from every PR I've put on. The one exception is a foreign object that I picked up.I didn't go for the PR3. I'm so happy with these I figured I'd spend the saved money on another toy for the bike. I can't imagine you would regret putting these tires on.

IBAs & Twisties - Lenguado FJR   FL Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Great all around Super Sport Touring tire Durability AND grip
Cons: Out of Production. . -

These are STILL awesome tires Only tire I will put on my FJR these days. Since the PR2s are being discontinued by Michelin gone to PR3s now, I just ordered 3 more sets of the PR2s. I think I am good for tires for a while I still ride IBR Extreme rides and still go up into the mountains a couple of times a year. I still get 10K plus miles per set even with the long distance heavy bike riding I do, and have complete confidence in these tires in the wet and in the twisties. No worries with dragging toes or pegs in the corners. They have the grip and durability needed for true Super Sport Touring riding.

Michelin PR2s- Buy Them - Greggo   AL Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Long Lasting, Great Handling
    Cons: None

This is my second set of PR2s for my Concours 14. I use my bike mainly to commute to work about forty miles each way, mostly straight roads. My first set of PR2s lasted aproximately 13,500 miles front and 12,000 miles rear. These tires have no weak points- only good things to say about them. They handle great and last a long time. These tires are very economical too, when you consider how they will double the mileage from many competing tires.

Oldie but a goodie - TedF   TX Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Excellent wear and cornering grip
    Cons: Kind of pricey

If you are in to sport touring and looking for a good sticky tire that will last over 10,000 miles stop right now and add this to your cart. I have used these tires on my Honda blackbird, FZ1, and now on my BMW K1200GT with always good results. Always check your tire pressure to ensure you get the best mileage out of them and you will be pleased all throughout the tire life. You can't go wrong with these boots

Michelin Pilot Road 2 excellence - fasterspider   CA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Excellent tires
    Cons: None

The Michelin Pilot Road 2 tires are the best bang for the buck here in So Cal where we do not get much rain which makes the PR3 overpriced overkill. My last pair of PR2 tires lasted me almost 14,000 miles on my modified 79 CBX and I ride her like I stole her but, the tires never gave me a lick of trouble never losing traction in the canyons or the freeways.I cannot praise these tires enough as they are even better lasting tires than the PR3s which I had on my VFR1200F and only got 7500 miles out of them to be replaced with PR2s again. If you are going to spend money on sport touring tires and do not buy Michelin Pilot Road 2s, you should have your head examined.

Michelin Pilot Road 2 Dual Compound Tires - Z-Rated - furduknfish   LA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Good tractionfeel on highway at speed and in turns
    Cons: Not free

Bought matching frontrear set for my 07 SV1Ks. Mostly do comuting to work 30 miles one way and tires feel solidstable at highway speeds. Grip seems better in turn and bends than old Pilot GT tires. Noticed they are bit narrower on rim than old tires but tire beads are fully seated. Put some dynabeads in and bike rolls smooth as silk. Hope to get alotta miles as advertised, this being the ultimate test.

So far Love um - Tomttt   FL Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: good price, fast service, good traction
    Cons: none

Have about 200 miles on them and am very happy. Smooth ride, stable, good feel, seem sticky. What more can you ask from a tire,

Great tire - Fz1   CT Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Long lasting, good grip dry or wet
    Cons: None

On 3rd set of PR2s, have averaged roughly 7000 miles before replacing. Dual compound wears evenly and provides plenty of grip, great all around tire.

Michelin Pilot Road 2 - RumRunner   GA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Wear, and feel
    Cons: None as of yet

Recently installed pair of Michelin Pilot Road 2's. I went from another set of Dual compound tires that were OK but not the best. So far these seem to be wearing EXTREMELY well. It took almost 600 miles to wear the nubs off the center harder compound of the tires, and while I do ride in the twisties that is phenomenal. They give great feel and feedback when laid over in both the wet and dry. Inspire confidence even on the worst roads tar patches and what not. The shape allows you to get full use out of the tire as well. If you're looking for a dual compound tire I'd highly recommend these

great mileage and great grip - sheldonc   LA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: High miles, smooth ride, great grip, cheaper than Dunlops
Cons: Edges wore out before the rest of the tire, but it's not a con, more of a note.

I've got these tires on both a ZRX1100 and a BMW R1100S and love them for both the miles I got from them, the grip and smooth ride. The BMW rear just got replaced at 8800 miles and sadly a bunch of that is boring straight road riding. I live in Southern Louisiana and the only close corners are on and off-ramps to a few bridges and hi-way exits so when at those I hoon hard. Accordingly the edges wore out a bit, especially on the left side got a long left exit that's a fast one but the grip there is excellent. I expect to get another 1000 or so from the front. It's begun to square a bit, but not nearly as bad as the front of the previous Roadsmarts I had. The ride quality is very good, in fact the best I've had from a Sport-Touring tire. Very good small bump absorbtion. I'm very happy with these tires and have no real reason to go up to the Road 3 as these deliver so well. Add in the free shipping and I'm all over the next set too

Great tires - Brian   KY Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Durability, Traction wetdry, value
    Cons: None

These work great on my Thunderbird Sport. Excellent traction in rain or on dry roads. Durability seems not be an issue. Bought both at combination discount where else are you going to get front and rear tire set for under 255. Highest rated tires in German test for durability and grip when wet.

    NDavis
Been getting 11k miles on rear. Not just one tire but all 3 tires have worn that great on eac one. Wet or dry traction is superb.

    DonJet
Have spent 50 years riding BMW bikes, all of which have been modified to give maximum sport handling at speed. Never before have I been so impressed with a tire as I have been with this one. I've put 20K on my present rear, most of it in the mountains surrounding Phoenix, AZ and at good speeds with hard cornering on my 2003 K12RS which runs with Ohlin shocks fore and aft, and a lightweight Remus exhaust. I run once a month to San Diego on the Interstate as well, so I know I am using most of the tread in my riding. The center line of the tire still has another 3K left on it for sure. Truly amazing!

Great all around tire - Budzrex   TX Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Long life confidant handling
Cons: Not as sharp on turn in as a full sport tire

Out of all the tires I have run in the past 153000 miles this is the best all around tire I have used. Not the sharpest handling, not the best in the rain but so close that unless you are running the bike back to back on the same roads with either the best rain tire or the sharpest handling tire you will never know the distance8200 miles of a combo of Texas and Arkansas twisty roads and the hi way miles between Austin and North Arkansas

Pilot Road 2 - HDH   OR Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Good grip, smooth predictable turn in.
    Cons: Haven't found any yet.

Wanted the tires before the weekend. This didn't happen because they were shipped from their east coast location and a day late. Other than that the service was great and I love these tires.I replaced a set of Pirelli Angels that only lasted 5k miles. Hope these tires last a little longer.

michelin pr2 - steve m   CA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: front and back wore out at the same time. the wear was even and gradual.
Cons: only lasted 5000 miles- that is better than the other tires available for the k1200gt.

great even wearing tires at a great price.

good tyres - FSUTL   FL Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: sticky easy install without machine
Cons: shipment was not in a box leaving tires susceptible to damage during transport. they were taped together.

I've had these on a little more then a month on a TL1000r and love the sticky only had one cold break away and bike handles amazing much more limber being a bigger bike. In the past I have been a diablo fan but my mind is changed i love the michelin brand. I will update when ive got a few thousand on the tires to see how well they do riding all the flat strait roads of Florida.

Can Never Go Wrong with Michelin - Dan   NJ Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Tire Life
Cons: Could be a bit cheaper

I've always replaced my factory tires with Michelin Tires. So far, I have tried the pilot powers, the PR3's, the 2CT's, and now the PR2's. I have to say, the PR2's have to be the best bang for your buck. I threw these on my k1200s and so far I love em I've only put a couple hundred miles on them so far, but seeing how long the PR3's lasted on my ZX10, I figured I should get at least 9k on the rear, and a lot more on the front. The turn in on these feel great and so does the stability while your inside the corner. HUGE improvement over the stock conti's that were on there. I like these a little bit better than the PR3s because the front end feels more stable while your in the turn. Sure, the rain performance is slightly less than the PR3's but then again I am usually a fair weather rider. I will probably stick with this tire on this bike.

recreational rider - Kevin S.   FL Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: handle very well , good deal

tire had good reviews for milage which is the main reason I purchased them ..had dunlops before and can say these tires make the bike feel much more nimble ..

Pilot Road 2 18055 B - G Bohart   FL Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Traction, mileage
    Cons: mileage

First let me explain my riding style. With 35 years of riding experience enabling me, I ride my 2011 Ninja 1000 extremely fast, usually 2 up and sometimes with loaded Givi luggage. 3 hr stints at 90-100mph including hard cornering. I can get 5k out of this rear tire which is 2k more than any other Ive tried. Traction is great. They never slide, even in light sandy, sketchy conditions. Ive never had a flat on one. Highly recommended.

SM Daily Driver - SM Type   GA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Controltraction
    Cons: mediocre wearlife

Use this tire on 09 Husky SM610. Ride 70 miles per day, 4-5 days weekly on combination twisty back roads and town. Tire is very predictable. Great traction and control when playing and stable on rainy days. 3000 miles is the most I've ever gotten out of them. Average is 2000 mls. 4th one in a row. So far my favorite all around tire.

Pilot Road 2 on Speed Triple - SLL   WY Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Holds up well to sport touring on a 650 - will try it on the beastlier Triple.
Cons: Don't know yet - haven't mounted it and now there's snow on the ground...

I had to replace the rear tire during a long road trip sport touring - on the sport side on my 650cc bike, and a Pilot Road 2 was the most suitable I could find while out on the road. I broke it in for about 100 miles, then let 'er have it for the rest of the trip. Grip was very good, the tire would warn you of impending bad things not just break loose like some other Michelins, and wear when I got home was not noticeable. Since the Metzeler Sportec M3's on my '06 Speed Triple feel alright, but wear away quickly, particularly the rear tire, and particularly in the center. I commute on the bike as well as Sunday ride and longer sport-touring rides 2,000 miles in a week for instance, so unfortunately the center portion of the tire gets worn down in commuting. Plus it's about a hundred miles before I hit ANY curves of consequence. Wanted to try the Pilot Road 2 OEM on the Triple was Pilot Power, and see if they'd last a little longer, yet grip well enough.

Over 11,000 miles on R1200RT - JMR   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Good milage, even with two-up.
Cons: Road noise, but not very much.

Got the 'B Rated' rear because my riding is two-up 50 of the time. The PR2s did so well on handling and milage, I bought another set..and I will keep buying these. No cupping issues at all. I used balancing beads inside the tires and I highly recommend. I could have surpassed 12000 miles if I had pushed things a little, but I had the new tires sitting there and I just couldn't wait any longer.

Pros: Wet grip, dry grip, design, look, longevity, fast warm up.
    Cons: Price.

I ride a 2007 R6.Love these tires. Excellent grip on wet or dry surfaces. I have about 2k on a set and they look new still. Most of those 2k miles are riding 2 up and a lot of highway riding. This normally causes more wear but they are holding up and are not squaring off. You can drop down on mountain roads on these and don't have to worry about losing grip, they hang right in there like glue. I have owned about every brand of tire and these are my new favorites. Worth the extra money over economy priced tires.

Pros: long lasting tire over 10k and can grip the corners just as well as any sport tire
Cons: front is a little slow on the turn.

i got 10.5k miles on my front tire. it finally started getting to the wear bars. they feel great and are just as good as any sport tire out there. the only thing i would complain about them in that the front tire is more U shaped and doesn't allow you to flick a turn as hard as a regular sport tire's V shape. but you should be able to get 10k miles out of them. i'll take that anyday

C-14 Long Lasting Tires - Greg   AL Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Secure handling and long-lasting
    Cons: None

The OEM tires on my 2009 C14 lasted 7200 miles front and 8600 rear. I just had my second set of PR2s mounted at 20,959 miles. The numbers don't lie- my PR2s lasted 13,800 front and 12,400 rear, and they still had some tread left. The front was cupped some and the rear had squared off, so I thought it was time for a new set. Choosing the PR2s again was a no-brainer. Get a set- you will love them.

Perfect tires for any street condition - Leprechaun   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Great grip on cold and wet roads as well as hot and dry roads and they last
    Cons: No faults

These are great tires and the package deal is so good for my Triumph Tiger 1050. They not only have a nice looking tread, but these tires are really effective in both wet and slippery road conditions as well as rides on those days with perfect conditions. They seem to warm up quickly and provide great grip leaning into corners as well as handling high milelage mundane freeway rides. These really rolls into corners nice and provide much more confidence at any speed. Very stable and quiet. Not sure why I would buy any other tires.

Perfect IronButt tires - BlackBird '99   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Durability, grip
    Cons: [None]

I mounted these tires on my CBR11XX in 2011 for a cross country trip, hoping for 10K. 2 IronButt and cross the US trip later, the tires have finally ran out of tread. Hot desert, drenched South and freezing Yellowstone the tires performed flawlessly. Great on the highway but also great on such a heavy bike in the twisties, I scraped the footpeg feelers so grip at high lean angle was never a problem. In 2012 I mounted them on my Hayabusa, ran them coast to coast, 1200 miles in California's twisties and still had life left to do another 2000 miles on them.Great tires

Pros: Best all-round tire for commutingsemi-spirited riding
    Cons: None

Most riding is done in PNW. Rear still had quite a ways to go before the wear bars. Decided to replace both before a long trip. Quick warm up times even in the 30s. Turn-in was way better than OEM Metzler Z6s. Confidence-inspiring even with pegs scraping on slightly banked 90s in Central Oregon.

Pros: Great tire, can take a beating, best bang for the bucks
    Cons: None

These tires have performed well through the heat, storms, rain, highway miles, The Gap, and rough back roads of WVA. This is the best performing tire i have ever used on my C-14 I am at odds over choosing this tire again and the PR3. With almost 40,000 miles on my bike I can truly say that this bike is tough and unforgiving on tires that can't own up to its power and the tasks of sport touring. The PR2s lived up to the challenge and continue to do so. They have saved me mega bucks One set over the price of two or three and installation of the other brands Once again, 11,000 miles and counting

9440 mile tires on a ZX12-R - K.S. Boston   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Long life tire with incredible traction.
Cons: If someone finds a con to these tire let me know, because I can't

9440 miles out of the Pilot Road 2 on a Kawasaki ZX12-R is incredible. I could barely squeak over 3500 miles out of BT-016s. I tried my hardest to find an issue with these tires, and failed to do so. From pushing a 177 horsepower 500 pound hyper-bike through the corners in the North Carolina mountains to super slabbing at warp speed, these tire never failed to impress me. Wet weather traction is so good that lifting the front tire in a rain storm isn't an issue. Great tires in the rain. I tried to get the tires to break loose trail breaking VERY deep into a corner, once I felt the front start to lose traction, letting off the front brake they hooked right back up. Very confident inspiring tire in the corners The warm up time is fairly short, even on a sub 32 degree day. The only time the back tire let go, was on a wet road with the tires still cold. All around great sport touring tire, very high mileage and dang near velcro in the corners. You get plenty of warning if they try to let loose, nothing abrupt, and very predictable. No cupping on the front tire what so ever and the back barely flat spotted. Track day tires they are not, and I'd never expect them to be. I'll never run a Sport tire again as long as Michelin continues to make these. Thanks to Competition Accessories for a great deal on an awesome set of tires

2007 Yamaha FJR1300 - Michael   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Great wear, great traction
Cons: Rear tire slow to break in, wet traction on rear is horrible until broke in

I own a 2007 FJR1300 and I purchased these tires about 2 years ago. I have approx 6,500 miles on them. You can really feel when you start to use the soft rubber on the front tire. It will grip and makes the bike turn very nicely. As far as wear goes, the tire comes with 632nds on the front and 832nds on the rear. I measured them after 6500 miles and I have 332nds on the front and 632nds on the back. Based on those numbers, I expect to get about 10-12k miles on the front and about 20-24k miles from the rear. Great wearing tire. As far as the grip goes in the wet, the rear is slippery until broke in. I think it took about 2-3k miles to finally get the rear broke in. In the wet, when engine braking, the rear would always lose traction and skate around. Overall, a great tire and I will definitely be staying with Michelin. The make great tires for just about anything that has or needs a tire.

Put these on my FJR after the stock Metzler Roadtec Z6's wore out and wow these tires are great The feel and cornering are amazing My first ride with them was from Stowe, VT over to Portland ME via the Kangamangus Parkway and wow what a ride to scuff them in Haven't been out in the wet with them yet but the dry grip and corning is simply superb If these tires last as long as I have heard they do I will definitely be buying more of them down the road I highley recommend them

I weigh 205 and have an 08' gsxr 750 and i have 12000 miles on these tires so far! The back tire still has a little life left and the front still has plenty left on it! I'm pretty sure the front tire will last until i use up another rear one. i hope they don't stop making these tires, cause they last really well.
You know how it is...when they make something good they stop making it lol. Anyway, if you want a tire with great grip and great tread life, then this is the best tire out there, PERIOD! PILOT ROAD 2CT!!!

Perfect all-around street tires, love them on my R1. Great grip plenty for even aggressive street riding, great handling, awesome wear, and they are good in the rain. Had Pilot Powers on before and rarely had a chance to use their grip, especially because they wore out so soon. Over 10k mi on front and still looking good, only replaced rear because I ran over a big piece of steel that put a 1" slice through the casing.

I decided to try new rubber, having run Dunlops, Pirelli Strada's and Metzler Z-6's - the Z-6's being my preferred hoops. These PRII's surpass even the Z-6's even without a full scrub in! The response is incredible, tip in razor sharp and completely sure footed. Handling in downpours has been a non issue - very planted as well as in dry. These PRII's are now my hoops of choice!

First off thanks to Competition Accessories for an outstanding price and super fast delivery!!!! 5 Star service!! I mounted these on my 08 GSXR 1000 that I recently purchased. It's a brand new left over and after 3000 miles in one month it was time for new tires. These tires are awesome. I rode this past Sunday 9-12-10 456 miles of twisty roads in Arkansas, and I am an aggressive street rider on the back roads. Not one clitch, slip or bad feedback from these tires. If you need more grip from a tire then you better be on the track with race tires, period!!!! I don't know how they stack up in the rain as of yet, but I will find out. I am totally confident in these tires, and if they last twice as long as the others I've used then they are well worth the money spent. Until something different from Michelin comes along these will be the only street sportbike tires I will ever run!!!! I am now a believer and faithful follower of the Pilot Road 2 CT tires.

These are awesome tires!!! Best I have had on my FJR - bar none. Gone through a number of sets of OEM Bridgestones and Metzlers - and the Pilot Road 2's are exceeding all of my expectations. About to turn over 10,000 miles on my current set - with maybe a few thousand left. Not BS there - very serious.

I ride hard drag toes & pegs and my bike is usually pretty heavy from all the gear I normally ride with. I just got back from two days on the Blue Ridge Pkwy and The Dragon with these tires having over 9,000 miles on them - and they didn't miss a beat. Passed some sport bikes on the Dragon with them - with no worries in the hard corners.

These tires stick in the turns, but have longevity needed for touring. And 100 wet weather confidence. I put over 4,500 miles on a trip from Orlando to Tucson on this current set right after I put them on the bike - and they showed no wear after that trip. These are AWESOME Super Sport Touring tires!!!!!!

I have 2500 miles and really like these tires...they make my K1200 handle much much better. The more I think about it, 2-compound is a great idea for sport tourers, should be the norm. Tires are light and heat-up pretty fast, turn-in is medium to fast, mid-corner is stable yet fairly changable on my heavy Beemer. a problem before w/Metzlers

K1200RS - This has been the best - bar none - tire I have used to date. I ride everyday between commuting and days off that there is no ice unless the temperature drops below my personal limit of 26 degrees. Great rain tire and the wear or lack of it is superior. I have lost more tires to nails than anything else.

    Blackbird Owner
I have been with the Michelin Food Chain since the Macadam 90X was OEM on my Blackbird. I then went to the 100x, Pilot Road and HPX. I experienced some front tire warpage and cupping with the Macadams and Roads after about 4000 miles and flat spots after about 5000 on the rears. I currently have the Road 2's and I am blown away. I am an aggressive distance rider and ride in ALL weather conditions including sleet on occassion Canada. My Road 2's have over 7000 miles on them currently and they literally still look new. The performance is the best I have ever experienced in any Michelin ever. I will buy these again without question. Bye the way, this is also the first time I have used dyna beads for balancing...I am also convinced this has been a major contributor to the tire life and excellent wear characteristics I am experiencing. One more thing...Cheers to Compacc for the bets tire recomendations, tire prices and service 2nd to none.

    RT Rider
I love these tires... I only average about 6K out of a set on my RT unlike the people who claim to get 10K plus out of them. Different styles of riding i guess... I don't ride super agressive but have been know to drag a peg now and then. They have great cornering, wet traction, dry traction and seem to warm up without to much effort. This is my 4th set and somebody will have to come up with something pretty spectacular to get me to switch. These tires ride awesome consistently, day to day, mile to mile. Highly recommended!

Got 9,247 miles out of my Pilot Power tires. Based on the recommendation of my local bike shop I switched to Pilot Road 2's. 2,000 miles in and I can't even see any wear. They handle great for all of the twisties and stick really well when the road is wet. I expect to get between 15,000 - 18,000 miles out of these duel compound tires, which is great on a 500 lbs BMW R12S.

Good Tire-Upgrade TO PR3 next - Jerry, Bel Air, MD   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Great in rain and dry
Cons: Defined squirrely handling when worn

Have 8500 miles on the PR2s on mt 2000 RT1100. Rear has plenty of tread left but front has bad crown wear on left side. Really catches road irregularities and moves the font end around. Am ordering anew front tire and when the ear is gone, will order a set of PR3s to try. The pr2 is a good neutral handling tire.

PR2 on my 2008 BMW K1200GT has been as good as or better than other brands. But after 6,000 miles it causes the front to wander on grooved or uneven pavement.
This problem is less than other brands used. I'm going to try the new PR3 next.

I don't know how anyone can rate a tire without wearing it out, especially motorcycle tires. I get around 6-7K out of a PR rear, 7-8K our of a Z6, 6-7 from Storms, and 10-13 from ME880s. I am on my second set of PR2's with 6K and maybe I will get 2K more, I only got 7K on my first PR2 rear. This wear is about equal to the Z-6's overall. The PR are inspiring in the corners and allow edge to edge wear without concern. I like them, but don't like the speed in which they wear out.

I am on my second set of these having been through about five sets of Conti Road Attack tires I was desperate for something with good wet and cornering but longevity. I was getting as little as three grand out of rears and five on fronts riding two up a lot and switched to these Road twos with better result. I got about seven on the rear first time around and about seven and a half on the front. The fronts fooled me I thought they'd go much longer. They make a humming sound in the front and the rears vibrate and the first rear cupped badly a first for me as mostly fronts cup . These were the opposite . They say there is a "b" version and so far I have not seen them so this may be the inconsistency in rear mileage as a second tire was bought without regard to B signage and it really sounds fuzzy in a hard lean with two up. Almost like a bad bearing sound and feel. Aside from noise and vibration they wear better stick as good and get better mileage fuel has been noticeably better than the contis I was using. Oh and they feel much more surefooted on uneven and loose surfaces like gravel. I really like them noise notwithstanding.

Someone said they are out of production though due to a new model, I have not been able to verify that.

My road 2 tire lasted 5,000 miles before it went bald on the sides.
this is about 40 better then a true sport tire for me at about 30 higher price then many sport tires. mine was very slippery for the first 100 miles and I would rate wet weather traction at a B- dry traction was OK with knee down riding possible. bump obsorbtion was maybe a C and turn in was very fast twitchy would be a good description.
part of the descrepency may be in riding style, expectations, or the fact that some of these tires are made in france while others are made in Thailand. Mine said made in thailand on the side.

Mediocre mileage - Testriderchuck   Recommended by Reviewer: No
    Pros: Good handling
    Cons: Short mileage

I've got about 6500 miles and am into the wearbars. '06 Z1000, mildly aggressive rider, mostly commuter miles. Occaisional sprints into triple digit speeds. One up riding.I was really hoping for as good or better life than the Pilot Road. Alas Big dissapointment as I was getting 8 - 11K from them. I got maybe 6 from the original Battlax, about 3.5 K from a Shinko mistake. This tire was billed as longer tread life. Apparently michelin wasn't comparing it to the tire it replaced.
