LS2s MX453 Adventure gets it done with a lightweight fiberglass Tricomposite shell, moisture wicking technical fabric liner, and a flip-up face shield to protect you from the elements. The MX style shell offers more clearance in the chin area to allow you to breathe when working hard off road. The chin vents and top vents are fully adjustable, so you can get just the amount of air you need, and there is an exhaust port at the back for true, flow through ventilation. Cheek pads are cut from one solid block of high quality foam using LS2's 3D Laser Technology for a secure and precise fit. The peak is designed specifically to allow air to flow through so it won't lift at high speeds, but still protects you from roost or branches. Every ride should be an adventure and the MX453 can help make the adventure more fun, no matter how brutal the ride is. DOT/ECE approved. Covered by a 5-year limited warranty against defects in material and workmanship.

Good Value Helmet - 80INWB PA
Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Fit and finish very good
Cons: None yet have not ridden with it
Helmet appears to be good quality. The size is right on, a little snug, but it is new. The face shield fits well. Looking forward to using it to ride the XL Honda to and on, then from the trails. Good helmet, reasonably priced
Great helmet and great value - DRS-Ohio OH

Pros: Lightweight, well-constructed, good-looking, great shield optics, great ventilation
Cons: difficult to change face-shield, a challenge to take off
For the price, the MX453 is very well made with nice fit and finish. I like the look of it a lot. It is somewhat long-snouted, but that also helps with the aerodynamics. When I first put it on it was REAL tight. I thought the Large might be too small for me, but after a few times having it on it loosened up and seems to fit me correctly with a nice, snug fit. One issue I am having is that it is very hard to take it off my head goes on easily now. It really pulls and squeezes at my ears and temples during removal. I hope this improves over time. Also, I wear glasses and it is very hard to slide them on since the cheek pads fit so snugly. I may try a thinner cheek pad, or see if pads with a channel for eyeglasses are available. I just took an hour-long ride with the helmet on. If felt really good. It is nice and light, and quiet. At higher speeds 60 mph it does NOT lift because of the peak visor. When I turn my head the extended mouth-guard area does catch the wind and tug a bit, but for the occasional turn of the head while moving at speed, it is not a problem. The peak visor really helps with providing shade from the sun. The ventilation is very good - it was hot and sunny on the ride, but my head was perfectly comfortable. I also ordered the dark smoke shield which works great It cuts sun brightness significantly and the optics for the shield are great - no distortion and very clear view. I will say swapping the face-shield out was a pain. I had to take the peak visor completely off the helmet and it took multiple attempts to get the new shield aligned so everything would reassemble. It took me about 15 minutes and multiple screwdrivers just to change the shield. With my prior Arai regular street helmet I could swap shields in about 20 seconds with no tools. Overall, for less than 200 I say the MX453 is a great helmet and putting up with the slow shield-changing and the difficulty in taking the helmet off does not prevent me from recommending it. It is the first Adventure helmet I have owned, so I don't have anything to compare to.
