Great helmet - Rick   CO Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Good fit, easily accomidates headset speakers, quiet.
Cons: Sun-shield doesn't lower quit far enough.

I recently bought a HJC helmet with a similar sun-shield. The raiselowering system on this helmet is much better and easier to operate. In fact, the HJC knob broke the first time I used it. I love the little addition under the chin that blocks air from coming up. This really cuts down on wind noise through my mic.

Excellent - Kabul helmet   CA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: fits perfect, less noise, great chin strap, comfortable
    Cons: none

This helmet is excellent in all respects. It is lightweight, less buffeting, looks good, a fantastic quick release chin strap which alone makes this helmet worthwhile and a great price. This is better than my Shoei at half the price and miles ahead of my HJC in terms of comfort. I bought the flash yellow one that is in the 180-200 range. I can't imagine how good one of their top or the line helmets are I am very pleased. A matter of fact if I could afford another I would buy one

Kabuto Kamui - Stuart   CA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Eliminates wind buffetting, well made, quiet, lite, and vents well.
Cons: Cheek pads are a little thick.

The descriptions and reviews on Competition Accessories website are spot on. No need to repeat them. Fast shipping and up front return policy. Thanks

REALLY like this helmet - cruisinnc   NC Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: comfy, pretty darn quiet, sun visor, venting
Cons: chin strap a little long, fades quickly and easily scratched

This helmet fits as well as any helmet I've ever had. I wear an XS and it's hard to find a helmet that doesn't make me look like a storm trooper This one, as far as that goes, is by far the best looking helmet on my head. The top venting is amazing. Best, hands down, of any prior helmet. I ordered an additional iridium blue sun visor anticipating that the stock one would not be dark enough - as most aren't. I was pleased to find that the stock one was adequate. I did opt to change the internal visor to the blue one because I preferred the color of shading over the stock one. I really like the ratcheting chin strap. It's very convenient and quick to secure and remove. However, I could use 12 less strap to really get it where I want it. I'm sure this will not be an issue for 99 of wearers. There was a small nub on the plastic ratcheting part that irritated my neck. I put some medical tape over it until I could get home and then I just shaved it off. Should be fine now.I purchased the flash yellow to coordinate with my new Olympia jacket and got several compliments on my visibility on the 5000 mile trip through the rockies a couple of weeks ago. There was really no break-in period as far as comfort was concerned. I love that it comes pinlock ready WITH the insert. I'll test that when it gets colder and fogging is more of an issue. It also comes with a chin curtain and breath guard. Nothing else to buy. I plan to wash the insides this weekend. I'm curious if the padding will plump back up. Now that it's broken in I'm wishing the fit was a little more snug - like it was out of the box.I tested it with my Scala Rider G4 and the new Sena 20S. It was quiet enough to hear music and a book on tape at around 80mph using the Scala. Works great with the Sena too using the radio and intercom at speed. My only real complaint is that after just over a week of daily use the plastic piece covering the rear vent on the top of the helmet has really faded in the sun. Also, there doesn't seem to be a clear coat over the paint like my other helmets have had. Maybe it's just done differently, but this helmet does scratch much easier than any other I've had.Overall, I WOULD definitely buy this helmet again - and probably will. I don't think you can go wrong considering the options this helmet includes - especially for the price.

Awesome Helmet - James   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Light weight, field of view, aerodynamics
    Cons: None

Forget shoei, and arai for about half the price I'll take this helmet all day long very comfortable and I have almost 2k miles with this helmet and still have no complaints

Very high quality - phillip   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Doesn't fog at all, COMFY, noticable head aerodynamicssmooth when turning head.
Cons: so cheap you think it's not amazing at first.

upon further reasearch, this is the number one or two brand in Japan....where Arai and Shoei hail it's new to the USA as Kabuto. I really like the chin strap quick remover with gloves on and putting it on also. I wear sunglasses, plus put the sun shield down when i hit the freeway in morning going into the sun...the built in G slit makes wearing glasses comfy, and they don't twist or push out ever.highly reccomend....oh and i tried the more expensive Kabuto helmets, but this is by far the best in my opinion...the only reason the others are more is cause they have race D ring that you have to have in USA but it's just as strong so whatever and they are tighter fit for racing...i don't them them as much as this one and i got it for 275 way better than similar 600 dollar lids.

Big Bang For Buck - fuzzy40   WI Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Price, Features, Sun shade, Weight
    Cons: No Wi-Fi

Looked at similar helmet in a Shoei priced at over 550. Better fit and finish than previous Bell and HJC helmets I have owned. Put about 1K on this helmet so far. Competition was easy to deal with and helped to resolve an issue with a replacement shield I ordered.

Kabuto Kamui Silver - Custom Rider   PA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Light weight, stable, field of vision, allows wearing of eye glasses
    Cons: None

This is my first full face helmet. I was looking for an upgrade to my open face HJC. With this helmet it presents a whole new riding experience for me. There is minimal buffeting, and I ride a Vulcan 900 without a shield.

MTG - GHHensley   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: A true Hi-Vis yellow helmet, very high quality, great field of vision, no blur shields.
    Cons: None

I been searching for months for what I wanted in a solid helmet and found it the Kabuto Kamui A true Hi-Vis yellow not just yellow paint,, to be able to wear my glasses and have a pull down inner sun shade that would fit over them, an add on chin cover to keep out cold weather and keep the high wind from your face and to have a wide field of vision. I truly believe this helmet has qualities that you get in a 500.00 helmet for half the price. Great phone sales people from and fast delivery to me in Texas. Giddy-Up Y'all

Kabuto Kamui - Larry   CA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Very lightweight and quiet
Cons: round oval shape not right for my head

This is an excellent helmet at the sale price, not so much at full retail. It has excellent features such as pinlock shield, and ratchet closure on the chin strap. However comparing it to Shoei or Arai is not a fair comparison. This helmet is good, but not that good. This is a good solid helmet for the price.

Kabuto Kamui - Steveo   WA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Cost, Quality, Looks
Cons: Cheek Pads are too big, chin strap is too long, no speaker pockets, shield pops open at speed.

The Kabuto Kamui really is a good helmet for us Earth shaped heads... that is the part above the eyes. The cheek pads are way too tight and I feel like I'm trying to impersonate a chipmunk. You know, when it's so tight that you can't chew gum and ride or you'd have chewed through the sides of your cheeks.I also want to comment about the rubber gasket and the possibility of someone not being able to use a comm device. I was able to install my Sena SMH10 pretty easily, so that shouldn't be a concern. Yes, it does stick out sideways a bit more, but it does fit and doesn't interfere with the drop down shield lever.I furthermore want to mention that it is definitely skewed towards touring. When I ride my Sprint ST, I have a normal view of everything and the Pinlock insert is not noticeable. When I ride my sportbike however, the top line of the Pinlock is directly in the middle of my view and is very distracting. My shield also pops open at highway speeds which is very annoying. So my impression is that the helmet is designed to have a moto shield in front to block most of the wind... I would assume that anyone who rides a sport bike will have the same issues. I simply use a different helmet for that bike...Overall though, I am very happy with the purchase and would recommend this helmet to anyone looking for a great touring helmet, but is looking at not spending the amount for a similar Shoei or Arai.

can be seen easier - Mike   OR Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: bright
    Cons: none yet

My wife got me this helmet for my birthday as she thinks the more visible the better. And it works. I have only put about 650 miles on the helmet so far. I was able to put my Senna intercom on without a problem. Extra space for the speakers was nice. Had to close the vents as we were riding in 35-40 degree weather. Wind noise was about the same as my old helmet Shark Evo II but this is definitely lighter. Didnt seem to catch the wind as much when turning my head but on my BMW RT a lot of the wind goes up and over. I have the windshield set so wind only hits the top of the helmet and I can still see over it. So far a good helmet especially for the money. May change to five stars after more miles

Kabuto Kamui - Dr. G   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Great helmet for riders who wear eye glassess.
    Cons: Fogs too easily.

I have tried many helmets, but could not find one that would allow me to comfortably wear my glasses. After reading the product details and watching Rubin's excellent video review I decided to take a shot with this brand, even though I had never heard of them before. I am very satisfied to say the least. Excellent quality. Fit and finish are outstanding. Plenty of room for glasses. Field of vision is very wide. Sun shield is adequate, but could come down a little further. Ventilation and noise levels are average. My only complaint is that it fogged up too easily and I had to have the shield cracked open throughout my ride. I will definitely install the included Pinlock visor, but will likely need some type of anti-fog for eyeglassessunshield. Overall, very satisfied with the product and Competition Accessories great service and pricing.
