Hey guys this is reuben with competition accessories. We are taking a look at the gmax gm 67. This helmet sells for 69.99 for a 3/4 shell helmet. This is a great bang for your buck .It has a thermoplastic alloy shell and is DOT approved. It has a lot of venting options on this helmet. There are two intake air vents in the front that operate on slider switches that make it easy to operate with gloves on. You also have exhaust vents in the rear and additional vents in the bottom. There are also static vents near the base of the helmet that assist with air ventalation. Basically when you ride warm air comes over top of the helmet and vents out the rear. It allows to keep your head cool during hot weather time riding. You can also close the vents during colder weather riding. One thing people also love about this helmet, it has an internal dropdown sun shield visor. The visor is tinted and has an anti-fog coating for riding in different kinds of conditions. For example, if you are riding during daytime use, you can have the shield in the downward position for better eye protection. During nighttime riding or riding through a tunnel, you can easily riase up the visor for better visibility. This helmet also comes equip with a visor peak, it allows for an open face feel for this helmet. If you find yourself on longer rides or different riding climates, you can lift the visor out of the way. If you choose to remove the visor peak, there are two small tabs located on the side of the helmet. It is difficult to see on camera, but are easy to locate on the helmet. On the video, once the visor peak is removed, the tabs on the sides of the helmet are easy to locate. This helmet also comes with a clear face shield. For installation, line up the tabs with the clear face shield on the sides of the helmet. Slide the tabs back into the forward position to lock the faceshield back into place. Make sure that both tabs are done on the same side to safely fasten the helmet into the correct position. No tools are required for this easy faceshield change. Now you have a 3/4 helmet with a full face shield. You can also use the dropdown internal sunvisor for additional coverage. If you look closely at the helmet, you will see there is a spot for an optional chin bar coverage. Just remove the two tabs on the chin bar and you will see the two chin bar slots. You can purchase the chin bar separately and install them in a matter of seconds. This will provide additional coverage if you so desire to have this option. Moving onto the interior of the helmet, Gmax lines this helmet with COOLMAX material. Coolmax material is a moisture wicking material that draws moisture away from the skin and keeps you comfortable for hot weather riding. The interior is also fully removable, which after extensive riding makes for easy washing. One nice feature about the cheek pads is that they do come installed with speaker pads for a communication ready helmet. I am go ahead and remvoing the rest of the liner to show you how the ventaliation works. Just a few snaps to remove out the crown liner. As you notice, they do offer a generous amount of mesh inside of the liner to work in conjuction with the ventalation system. Looking at the EPS liner, you will notice plenty of holes for the ventalatin system. This is to maximize the air flow in the helmet. This will provide a cool flow feeling on your neck and skin. Again this helmet is called the Gmax GM67 Open face helmet. well priced at under 70.00, this is a great helmet for the money. You can check these out on our website We will see you next time.

Great Accessory - Michael   CO Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: It's great to be able to add the jaw set when riding in cold weather or on longer rides.
Cons: It's a tight fit with a XXL helmet. I have to attach it jaw after putting the helmet on and remove it before taking the helmet off.

Great accessory I highly recommend for the multiple options it provides to the helmet.

Great Idea - nefty123   VA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: fantastic idea
    Cons: NA

I haven't needed to use the jaw set yet. But I got it if I should ever need it - i.e. sudden rain storm. I ride a GL1800 Motor Trike and take it on long trips for days at a time. So I will encounter different weather along the ride. I like the GM67 complete system.

Great Helmet - nefty123   VA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: well ventilated, nice fit, sun shield, visor and face shield included, price
Cons: low brow, cheek pads size

I really am enjoying this helmet. Its my first 34.I got 10mm cheek pads to replace the original because it was too tight. The new cheek pads work wonders. I noticed that the brow of the helmet is lower than any other I have had. It forces me to tilt my head back at stop lights. I like the fact that it comes with a visor and face shield. It was easy to swap out the visor. I would like it better if the visor and shield could be worn at the same time. I did get the jaw set. The price is inexpensive for what you get.

Great Idea to Add a Brake Light - Matt B   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Great Idea, Better Visibility, Works Great
    Cons: [None]

This is a great idea I feel safer knowing that I can be seen better at night and during the day. Only wish the light was brighter so it could be seen better during the day. Also wish just the light was sold separately. I have 2 GMax helmets and wanted both to have the light synced to the brakes but I didn't need a second brake light kit because you can sync 2 helmet lights to one brake light kit.

This was a great upgrade to the basic light unit in my GM54 helmet....very easy install, just make sure you know what each of the 3 lines coming off your brake llight are ...tiny splice, attach the included wire crimps, I zip-tied it to a bracket under the seat of my 650r, entire install about 15 minute's. And it works.....Install the light unit into your helmet and now you are ready to ride, safetly at night People are impressed and it does catch that stray drivers eye As always FANTASTIC prices , fast shipping. Outstanding helmet - Dredd72601   AR Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: It fits.
    Cons: None

So many other companies make their helmets to fit round heads. I don't have a round head, most Americans don't have round heads. Most sizing charts say I should wear an XL helmet, but in reality I have to wear a XXXL helmet and GMAX is one of only a few companies to make a larger helmet. The GMAX is every bit as good as a Shoei, but at a fraction of the cost. Outstanding helmet and outstanding value.

Nice helmet - Firedawg   GA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Light weight,
    Cons: Runs small

I ordered the biggest size available. Its a little snug, but wearable as is. I will probably shave some foam in a couple of spots for maximum comfort, but this is a nice helmet. I'm used to wearing a half helmet so this is taking some getting used to, but I like it so far.

Pros: Look, style, sun visor, large face shield, closeable air vents, brake light capable
Cons: runs small compared to sizing chart

Love the look & options of things on this helmet. Today will be the first time that I have worn it for a long period of time, but short periods of wear have been great. Love the sun shield and large face shield as well as closeable air vents. The only negative so far is that they seem to run small compared to sizing chart. Had to send mine back for bigger size, but turnaround was very quick.

First I'd like to say the Customer Service Dept. is great. They were able to find this helmet for me in the color I wanted and had it shipped right away so I had it for the Memorial Day Weekend It was supposed to take over a week, so I'm very impressed and happy with the service. The helmet is really nice. Fits great. Love the color. The shield was easy to put on. I also ordered the jaw set but haven't received it yet, but that is ok. The built in sun glasses works great too. I love this helmet.

great accessory... - andermle   VA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Bright even in daylight, price
Cons: Install instructions could be better

Light does what it is supposed to do. Bright enough even in daylight, I have people ask about it and the Gmax54 helmet all the time. I thought it was a gimmick but took a bud's advise and got it when I purchased the helmet. Good advise. The first week I had it, we had fog every morning and I had a guy at a stoplight say every helmet should have a light like that. I think it is worth the money if it catches the attention of just one person who isn't paying full attention. It's a great addition to a great helmet.

Works great - Cmay   NM Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: It works
    Cons: instructions

The instructions leave a lot to be desired. The one thing that I found most useful was a test light so I knew which wires to clamp onto. It took about 30 min to install with some trial and error. For the price you cant really complain too much, right Overall I am pretty happy with it.

Pros: Alot of features for the money, nice looking
Cons: cheek pads way too thick. Had to purchase smaller ones.

I got this helmet in Candy red and it matches my Drifter perfectly. I wear an XS so fit is always dicey, but the cheek pads are ridiculously huge...even for my tiny head I ordered smaller ones 10mm, but alas, they are too small, so must order 25mm. I love the drop down tinted shade and the full face shield...lots of protection. Overall, this is a great helmet for the price.

    Pros: Priced right, add-ons available.
Cons: Not being able to use both face shield and windflare at the same time.

I don't have a windshield so this provides enough coverage. Nice that I can eventually add-on other things Speakers, lights, or chin guard. The internal sunglasses are very handy.

Gmax67 Helmet - Dave in Mpls   MN Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Looks, sunvisor, style
    Cons: runs small in size

Great value, you won't find a better helmet for the money. Just returned from a 975 mile ride and wore it the whole time. First I ordered a Med which is the size I wear in two other Gmax helmets I have. It was too small so I gave it to my girl friend and bought myself a large. Fits good up high but cheek pads are still a tad tight. May have to get some thinner ones from Amazon for about 15. The inside sun shield is very nice, easy to use and clears my glasses easily. My only complaint is over 80 MPH the wind buffets the helmet causing my glasses to vibrate and makes it hard to see and I have to slow down. Maybe at my age that is a good thing, kinda like a rev limiter.

Pros: Styling. Flip-down Visor. Well vented
    Cons: No quick release buckle

a Very comfortable helmet to wear. The many vents allow excellent air flow. The Flip-down visor is a nice touch. Not the sturdiest though. I haven't had a problem with it yet this is the first helmet I've bought with one so not much to compare to. It does work very well though very dark. The ability to easily switch from full shield to visor is nice.My only complaint is lack of quick release buckle. However, I'm not complaining due to the good sale price I paid.

Solid Helmet Value - Gregg K.   TN Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Good construction, light weight, drop down sunshield, great venting
Cons: Size runs smaller than measured fit

I got one of these in size 3XL, it's inner fit is small compared to that of the 4 other brands I tried on in the same size and in an open face model. Vega NT200 or Zox are good choices for those needing a 3XL or larger. The bigger your head is, the less choice you have, regardless of price. The construction is good on this helmet and the finish is great. It has a lot going for it for the price point. It has a hidden compartment on top where the 2, AAA, batteries go if you get the optional LED light kit that fits in to a compartment on the back, and is operated by a push button on-off switch. A cool option to help you be seen better at night. There is a retractable built-in sunshade which is operated with the slider knob on top. note this was very difficult for me to use because I must wear prescription glasses, and in my case, there is no clearance for my style of glasses Really nice feature though for those who don't wear glasses. The helmet ships with a black visor installed, but a clear flip-up face shield is included in the box, and it is very easy to switch out the visor for the shield. Venting on this model is awesome. 4 air in's, and 6 air out vents, in pairs, each pair having its own open-close slider for great airflow choice. This is really a great helmet value in a DOT approved model. With what you save on the helmet, you can afford to get the optional light kit, and a dark tinted face shield. This model also has a full jaw piece attachment available as an option, for even greater versatility. As a value added surprise bonus for me, the Blue color I ordered turned out to be an exact match to my Blue, 2013 V-Star 1300 Deluxe.

Pros: Good Fit, Prompt Delivery, Comfortable
Cons: Inside visor not easy to slide down, No lights

I bought 2 helmets and both have a very good fit. The slide for the inside visor does not slide down all the way on my wife's helmet but not too much of a problem. Will buy from vendor again.

This review is for Gmax GM67 Helmets - Solid Open Face
This is an outstanding value. The comfort level is extremely good. The features included with this product are usually found on helmets with a much higher price tag. The only concerns that I have are:

    1. The sizing is off compared to most other helmet brands. They are 1 to 1 and1/2 sizes too small. If i had ordered by the sizing chart i would have gotten a helmet 2 sizes too small. As it turned out I still ordered a size larger.
    2. The speaker pockets are not designed for any headset speakers i've ever seen on the market-requires cutting foam out to fit.
    3. It would be nice to see the manufacturers upgrade these helmets to at least a Snell designation. I know people would not mind paying the extra cost for these upgrades.
These are the reasons for only 4 stars.

    Still A great product overall.

This review is for Gmax GM67 Helmets - Solid Open Face
This is the most versatile helmet I've ever seen, especially for the price. However, it has a very round-shaped fit. My head is slightly oval and an HJC XL is very comfortable. On the GM67 the XL was way too tight in the forehead. Fortunately, the XL fit my wife very nicely she normally wears a L in HJC. I liked the other features of the helmet so ordered another in an XXL. The fit was much better, but still a little tight in the forehead. I thought the XXXL would probably be too large overall so I removed the lining and shaved a little foam off the shell and that solved the problem. You can also get different thickness liners and cheek pads to customize the fit, but the shell itself fits very round.

I use the helmet open face with the peak visor and my wife uses the face shield. For the colder months I'll use the face shield along with the optional jaw set/breath box. An electric face shield is also available if you want to use the helmet for snowmobiling. Is there anything this thing won't do

The drop down sun shade is much darker than the one on my HJC and works very well. It fits fine over my wife's glasses, but there isn't a lot of room and could be a problem if you have large glasses. Cooling actually works pretty well. It has ear pockets for speakers and our Sena Bluetooth system fits like a glove using the clamp.

Bottom line: Looks good, amazing feature set, unbeatable value. Would be the perfect helmet if it had a more neutral-shape fit. If your head is more round-shaped, and you want maximum versatility, then this is the helmet you've been waiting for.

Gmax led brake light for GM64 - Max   IN Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Like the way it looks with brakes
Cons: difficult to install not very good instructions

Bought the brake light kit to go in my GM54 helmet. I thought all I had to do was install the transmitter and I would be good to go using my existing helmet light. WRONG You have to remove the old light and install the light that comes with the kit. Took a little figuring out how to remove the old one and fishing the wires up to the power source. Also the splices are junk. I ended up striping the wire and soldering the connections. Much better. But all in all I still like this light. I do have to reset it every time it sits very long which is really not a problem and it probably saves the batteries. I would recommend it I only gave it three stars because of the splice connector and poor directions. The unit is fine otherwise.

Nifty device for the price - Steve   AR Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Inexpensive
Cons: Not bright enough, installation may have you going to church to ask forgiveness

I have a love-hate relationship with this piece. First, don't bother reading the instructions. You'll have just as much success looking at the factory installed light and seeing how to remove it and install the identical looking replacement. It's straight forward enough. The problem is the two tiny screws that hold it in the helmet. You will need a jewelers screwdriver phillips. The screws are recessed with access thru very small openings. They come out easily enough, although getting them all the way out of the opening can be tough. That is your first clue that re-installing them will be a challenge. Getting the two screws thru the opening is not difficult. But then, they fall into a cavernous space that allows them to twist and turn in every direction but into the threaded holes. It will try your patience. One of mine went in on the second attempt. The other one fought me every step of the way. Stop. Have a cold drink. You'll feel like you need a beer, but alcohol won't help your dexterity. Then try again. It will eventually fall into the hole and you'll wonder why it didn't happen 45 minutes ago. Now, to the installation of the sending module. Where are the instructions Oh, there aren't any. Just enough to tell you which wire is ground and which one goes to the brake light wire. Now you're on your own. The unit is small and can mount almost anywhere on a big touring bike. That might not be the case on a sport bike. You need a small place within a few inches of a brake light wiring harness. Obviously, they don't know what kind of bike you are putting this on. So, they can't tell you where the harness is, what color of wire to look for, or anything else. You either need a wiring diagram of your bike, or a voltmeter and the knowledge to use it. Once you find the brake light wire and ground, splice into those wires with the included taps. Now where is the double sided tape or Velcro to secure the module. Once again, Oh, that's not included. You've got to be kidding me. A one inch square pice of double sided tape is not included OK, never mind, I'm sure I have some laying around here somewhere. Now it's installed. Let's try it. Hey, look at that. It really works. Just like the stock light, it only has two little LED's. Easily seen at night. In the daytime, not so much. But, it was less that 30 bucks, so it's probably with it.

    Pros: Great looking helmet
Cons: size too large overall, too round and oversized, padding too thick

I ordered the size according to the chart, but the inside padding was so thick and pressed against my cheeks too tightly making it small and uncomfortable. I would order the next size up because of the thick padding, but the helmet is so big that I looked like an alien. It's a fantastic looking helmet until I tried it on. If you're not a petite person, go ahead and give it a try, but order up a size so you don't bite your cheeks.

This is an update to a previous review. I lowered the rating due to a common defect I've found with this helmet. So far I've ordered five of these helmets and on three of them the plastic button on the top that controls the sun shield has broken off-One was broken and laying in the box. This is a very good design option on this helmet but the materials used for this mechanism are very poor.

    Pros: Price, Sun Visor
    Cons: Sizing, Fitment

Ordered size L, which my wife normally wears. Cheeks were so tight it was extremely difficult to put on, and impossible to wear. Easy return to Competition Accessories. Ordered an XL, and the cheek pads 15 mm were still too tight to be comfortable. Ordered 10mm from another vendor, which made very little difference. While waiting for the new cheek pads to arrive, I installed a J&M headset and practically had to take the helmet apart actual screws holding bottom trim which does not snap out. After a lot of difficulty I managed to get the speakers to fit in the too small area of the cheek pads. No matter how the speakers are placed, you can still feel them. I now have a helmet that I have invested too much time and money in trying to make work. Time to cut my losses and toss it in the trash can.
