Hey this is ruben with competition accessories were gonna make a quick video about the fly trekker. now if you ride a dual sportmotorcycle and you do some on road and some off road theres not to many options for dual sport helmets and if you dont wont to spendyour money on an Arai XD-3 or the shoei hornet the fly trekker is definetly an attractive helmet to look at, for the money you getalot of features and of my favorite features about it is you can actually use goggles underneath it without taking the visor offso you can leave the faceshield on you dont have to take it off or pull it apart if you run into some dusty conditions and yourfollowing somebody and you would rather use goggles instead of the faceshield you can actually just run that goggle strap theresenough clearance underneath that and have the goggle strap go all the way around the eye port is wide enough to accomidate gogglesand its very comfortable with those on and then the goggle strap has a good secure place to go all the way around the back of the helmetso thats really nice another fairly interesting feature is you can close the faceshield even with goggles on so if you wont to run that way you could probably not likely that you would though but if started raining or something like that you may wont to keep your gogglesclean so you can close that obviously that does mean there will be a small gap right here though so your not getting a real tight sealon the gasket on the side since theres going to be a clearance there for that goggle strap but thats kind of neat and were going to pullthose goggles out of there now, so you do get a integrated visor thats going to have some ventilation with it so at highway speeds youvegot somewhere for the air to go and its not going to act just like a big air scoop here you can actually see that theres channels for theair to pass underneath the vis and or and go up over the helmet another thing is the ventilation on this helmet with dual sport ridingor any off road riding the speeds arent always as high as on the streets so the ventilation in a helmet that is designed for some off roaduse needs to be very very aggresive, if you take a look at the ventilation on this helmet it has a very large chin bar vent which you can openand close right here and that directs air straight to your mouth then up here at the top it may be kind of hard to see but under the visorthere are basically two vents that operate with switches so you can open and close hem depending on the conditions and then you have two ventsup here which open and close with a single slider switch and as air passes over the top of this helmet your going to have some air coming inat the top and then there are some large exhaust vents which will help by pulling all of that warm air out of the helmet which is one of themost effective ways to vent the helmet theres also a static vent on the side of the chin bar again thats just driving more air out of the helmetand at the base here theres more ventilation to get that hot air out. We'll take a look here at the inside of the helmet theres basically a fullyremovable liner thats going to come out with just a few snaps cheek pads come right out so thats going to be very easy to clean if you need topull this out between rides and freshen up your helmet its definately easy to do and pull out the rest of the liner which is really easy as welland you can see theres plenty of holes for the ventilation to get through the helmet and to your head and if you take a look at the actual foam liner itself you will see that there is actually a two piece liner inside and thats a dual density EPS liner so theres two different densitys of foam used in the construction of this helmet so that different parts of the helmet absorb impacts differently based on studys of how heads hit the ground and what parts of the head need a little softer cushion and then different parts of the head where a little firmer padding will work.So again that is the fly trekker and if your in need of a budget minded dual sport adventure helmet this is definetly a great one to take a look at you can check these out on our website at competition accessories.com also click on this link right here that'll take youto our youtube channel make sure you subscribe to us and stay up to date on our latest video reviews we also have a couple give aways that we do for all our youtube subscribers as well as our facebook fans check us out there as well thanks for watching and we'll see you next time.

Love this helmet - cincygirl   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: quite, comfortable, stable and great visibility
    Cons: [None]

My husband and I both own black ones and could not be more pleased. I have put over 9000 mile on this and I still love it The vents work well in extreme heat. It kept me dry in even the worst rain. It is very quiet with the shield down. We run a scala communication system and it works well with that. There are restrictions on the size of glasses that will fit comfortably in it tho. Overall the comfort is great and I will replace it with another one just like it very soon

good buy - Jim P   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: good visibility, lots of padding, comfortable, stable to about 80 mph
Cons: lost visor screw on first 1 hour street ride, difficult to change face shield

Overall it is a great buy for the money. Didn't have any issues with optics, but as others noted the half way face shield is pretty useless and distorts vision. Either open or closed works best. Fit for me was consistant as I ordered Large as I wear in other helmets Shoie, Bell, HJC and fit was good. Looks huge in the mirror though...I think I read something about Rick Moranis in the Darth Vader helmet spoof...first thing I thought of when looking in the mirror My main complaint is the difficult to change face shield. Needs a better design. Looks like several brands come out of the same manufacturing plant ASV, MSR, Cyber as Fly. Overall very please with the price.

    tom boy
comfortable, light and works with goggles. Not great for high speeds 85, however, it works great around town and on my daily commute. Good value for the money.

Flytrekker Dayglo - designrider   NY Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Uber Visible, Quiet, Stable
Cons: Finicky Buckle, Tough to find vent controls, Assembly not A

This a great helmet for the money. Loaded with vents and stable at unfaired highway speeds. With the faceshield open it moves a lot of air. the medium position I don't like because it gives me a cross-eyed feeling, so it's either open or closed for me. I ride with glasses not goggles so I cant comment on the goggle strap clearance feature but it doesent seem to make the helmet noisy as I had feared. Something about the buckle tabs is tricky but each brand has its idiosyncracies i guess. I find the optics to be fine every helmet of this type has a little distortion due to the irregular bend of the faceshield. If the bend was constant you would have a regular helmet not the offroad adventure style. All in all I'm very happy especially for the price. Plus the yellow is BRIGHT BRIGHT BRIGHT

What I wanted, but not in my size. - John   WA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Great helmet, I like the face shield option off road.
    Cons: Returned do to fit.

I measured my head and determined I needed a Large per the fit chart. I ordered an extra large because that did not seem right. Then I returned the helemt for an XXL. That was also too small and had to be returned. Particularly, it was tight around the face. They don't have a large ENOUGH helmet for me.

Good Helmet - Good helmet   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Color, style, looks, weight
Cons: How it sits and small goggle port

I purchased the silver loved the looks and was excited to give a trial run up to the Mountains. The first issue I had was my Liquid image goggles would not fit I was disappointed. My Four brand goggles also did not fit so I had to open my old scott goggles. Wearing the helmet felt good and fit well. However when taking off add a lot of pressure on the back of my neck. My other fly helmets never did this and it is a concern of mine. So I do not wear it. It is a shame and may be of no concern but sits in the back of my mind. I love the shield can be replaced. But I will not be wearing this helmet.

Needs a little work - Paco   LA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Looks cool, fairly quiet with visor off, moves some air
Cons: Runs small, distortion, visor changing is the pits

Got this for a Christmas present. Seemed a little small at first, putting pressure at the front of my forehead, but I figured it would break in...nope. I wear a large in every other helmet, and should have went for an extra large in this one. Putting on a tinted faceshield took forever. Takes a lot of pressure on small plastic pieces to remove the shield and I was afraid something would break but nothing did.Definitely some distortion in the corners of the faceshield, both the clear and tinted. Takes some getting used too. Overall seems like a well built helmet and a good buy for the money, just needs some fine-tuning.

    cj
Helmet is sized smaller than others. If you wear a Medium in any other better order a Large. Fits oval head OK like a X-11 or Vector. Finish looks good in Hi Viz if you can get one :

Too Small - Telerider   NJ Recommended by Reviewer: No
Pros: Nice fit and finish, too small
    Cons: Too small

My son has a Fly Youth helmet that is really nice and reasonably priced. I decided to try an adult version. I have been an Arai guy for over 20 years, so I knew I was taking a chance. I will say that the fit and finish was very good. Unfortunately, it was too small size small. So small that is was about the same size as my son's Youth small. No kidding. I had to return it and go for the Arai.
