This review is for Fly Racing Flux Air Mesh Jacket
Best Jacket - Jon   MN Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Air Flow, fit, feel, removable waterproof inner liner
    Cons: [None]

The air flow on this jacket kept me comfortable in heavy traffic on 82 degree day and I am not a little guy. Armor sits well and liner goes in pretty easy. Zipper can be a little rough going up and the liner just like any other will make you sweat more but it does a great job of keeping you free from the rain.

phenomenal jacket - JP   NY Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Protection, airflow, look
    Cons: liner

definitely a good summer jacket, the mesh gets good air flow and it has a nice aggressive look. The liner it comes with is eh, but to keep warm i just wear a hoodie under, but it is supposed to be water resistant. Unfortunately i can speak to the protection of this jacket as i lowsided coming through a turn about 10-15 mph after hitting sand. The padding on the elbow and shoulder too the slide and impact and i was perfectly fine. the jacket isnt even ripped and the armor is in perfect condition. i would buy this jacket again in a heart beat. Careful out on the road, the sand is ridiculous

Fly cool pro mesh jacket - Rusty   AZ Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Great jacket for arizona hot weather, good protection.
Cons: Can't find a replacement liner.

This is my second cool pro jacket, some how I lost the liner and I'm planning a trip up to Washington and Oregon and will need the liner . the jacket fits so well I bought another. The cool mornings the jacket with the liner was just right for riding.

Lots of air - Jesse G   FL Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Light weight, super ventilation, heavy duty snaps and zippers, fits good
Cons: Back pad is big and restricts air movement

I've worn three different mesh jackets before trying the Fly Pro Mesh. This one absolutely flows the most air. The other mesh jackets usually have a few dead spots where there is no air movement but the Fly jacket has only one. The back pad creates a sweaty spot at around town speeds but no big deal. The waterproof liner is small enough to detach and store in an inside pocket. All snaps and zippers are heavy duty and easily used with gloves on. The arms have two sets of take-ups which is nice. I bought an XL and the sizing is very good maybe just a bit large. This jacket has passed the Florida summertime test with flying colors. Highly recommend

great jacket - Great jacket   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: fit, looks, comfort
    Cons: the back armor

This is a great jacket I got the blue and love it. I wear it in Vegas where the temps get high.

Great summer jacket - Ratfink   NJ Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Light, armor, cool mesh, price
Cons: Piping in the middle of the jacket makes the zipper hang up, should wear in after awhile.

This is a nice summer jacket. A great option for guys who think its too hot for a jacket. It has nice protection in the arms and back. It is a nice cool mesh jacket on those hot summer days. I like the rain liner, but have'nt used it. Everything about this jacket is awesome, price, lightness, weight, protection. The only con I can think of is the piping in the middle of the zipper is hanging up the zipper on the way up, i am sure it will wear in with time, but i thought it should be said if you are someone who that might bother.

Really happy w this jacket - PMC near Detroit   MI Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Adjustability, airflow, and armor
Cons: Wrist closures snaps unnecessary with the zippers, but that's it

What attracted me to this jacket not being built like a typical sportbike rider stocky 5'7, 36 waist, and almost 195lbs, I needed something with a bit of flexibility in the waist for my height. It did not disappoint. The side zippers and velcro bands should be standard on all jackets. I wear XL polo's, and have a 42 chest the Large jacket here was perfect. This jacket moves A LOT of air Matter of fact, you can see through most of this jacket if you hold it up to the light with the liner removed, and at night, I'd recommend the liner again, as it can be like wearing no jacket at all For hot weather we've had a few 90 days in a row, I could not think of anything better that would still help protect you through at least one crash. The armor is well-positioned, the pockets are easily accessible, and overall, for the money, this has been a great purchase. Aside from the wrist openings being a bit tight when snapped when putting the jacket onoff meaning you occasionally have to un-snap it, I can't find a real gripe against the jacket. Note, my gray jacket does NOT have a white upper arm stripe... see the video It still looks good tho'

Great Jacket - kp   TX Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: good quality and features
    Cons: none

Sizing is correct. I've worn medium size in a jacket for years and this medium fits just right. Good airflow without the liner, yet for the early morning ride when it is somewhat chilly the liner is a good addition. I like that there are jacket sleeve tabs so that you can snug down the sleeves to prevent all the wind flapping that some light weight jackets have. I like having a warm weather jacket with all the protection that this jacket offers, and at a reasonable price.

Great deal - Wannaride   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: It works It looks good, is well made and is visible
Cons: Large back pad is not CE certified and blocks air flow

I've been looking for a mesh jacket for awhile but was not too keen on the Slider brand looks kind of dorkish and it was going to cost 200 plus to get the Tourmaster jacket which is more of a three season jacket and I wanted cool. I live in SoFla and it is already in the upper 80's and I needed something that would really flow air. I saw this jacket on close out and I'm glad I got it. The fit is pretty good. I could have probably gotten away with a large as the jackets are very adjustable but I figured looser is cooler plus you can get a couple of pounds of lychees in the jacket if you need to. I tested it today which was to be a real acid test as I got fried yesterday on the boat and I'm hot not that way unfortunately no matter what. I also bought a set of Shadow Warrior gloves which I like a lot so I had a pair of short gauntlet gloves to flow air into the sleeves. A few minor adjustments and I'm off and the thing works I wore a long sleeve technical shirt underneath the jacket and I as long as I was moving I was nicely cooled. Standing still you do not get as hot as with a regular jacket as any breeze creates cooling and the mesh lets out heat as well as air in. I have some doubts as to how much protection this jacket will provide but it is surely more than I would have without it because I wouldn't be wearing a a jacket. The jacket looks good on and the red color is super nice and it is very visible - and nicely matches my bike. I'm looking forward to using it when my skin is not nearly the same shade of red. I don't know why these jackets are being closed out but this is the best 94 i've spent recently.

    Pros: Good fit
    Cons: [None]

Verry happy with the coat. Was on close out for a great price. Rode with it a couple of times now one day was on the cool side and with the liner in was warm the other day was hotter so took out the liner and was very comfortable with a lot of air coming through the coat. Ordered a different coat first and had to return it and Competition Accessories were great with there no hassle return policy.

Cool Pro Mesh is a Great Deal on Closeout - Fred in Florida   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: comfortable, great air flow..
Cons: wish it was a little beefier

I've worn the fly cool pro jacket for over a year now and it's amazingly comfortable. The mesh on this motorcycle jacket really allows so much airflow. It is almost like you're not even wearing a jacket. The armor is fine, but I wish it was a little beefier. But that would probably add to the cost.. So for the money it is a great day.. . All in all, a great summer jacket at a fantastic price. I'd definitely buy it again

Cool Pro, cool jacket - Longshot   FL Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: summer weight mesh, well constructed, good features
Cons: Its mesh, not textile or leather

Fit and finish is excellent & sizing is correct. I'm 6'3, 220 w a semi athletic build and the XL fits gr8. In summer in South Florida it's tolerable into the 90's and comfortable as long as you're moving. The liner is a plastic bag - water proof but you'll sweat enough that you're still soaked. The armor at elbows and shoulders is perforated, CE 1 rated and stays in place while you're riding. The back pad is the usual foam and should be replaced with something perforated and protective. Sleeve tabs and waist tabs keep things tight and the form is designed to fit well while in a riding position. I had an 8th Street jacket before this one this is the new model and had a dismount. The pads stayed in place but the jacket shredded in several mesh spots - like you would expect. Still I didn't get hurt or lose any skin. This is also a really good company. I lost the liner on the 8th Street and called them to buy a replacement. They said they didn't make them anymore and couldn't sell one BUT the guy said he had several lying around and sent me one FREE. Buy this jacket for semi-protected hot summer riding.

Pros: LG was just right for 5'-6
Cons: Didn't make my knobbies stick in better -

Worked out well in wet 40-deg temps. Fit over a body armor kit as well. Put up with some branches and crashes without a tear too. I was surprised. I dig it

Fly racing mesh jacket - jameskjr   AR Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: breathes well, looks really sharp, and has some protection.
    Cons: zipper gets caught

I really like this jacket for hot weather. It breathes well even in really hot temps. as long as you are moving. I have the silver version and it fits and looks very sharp. The only issue I have is when you are zipping it up the zipper gets stuck where the piping crosses the chest you just have to use both hands zipping it up buts it not a deal breaker for me. I got it on sale for 85.00 so it was a bargain compared to anything else of this caliber.

Great jacket - Sgorgas   IL Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Breathable, Adj Fit, pockets
Cons: Little long in the arms

This jacket works great I've done plenty of riding with it this summer in Chicago. While it might not be 100 degrees here everyday we do get our fair share of high humidity days & this jacket keeps me cool. I like all of the protection & the customizable fit offered in the sleeves, sides & waist. The interior pockets are large enough for documents, cell phone, etc. the only drawback is the sleeves feel a little long to me. Being able to adjust the sleeve width helps to keep the protective pads in place so only minimal discomfort. I highly recommend this jacket. It does what it says & you can't beat the price

Nice jacket for the money - B&LVulcans   PA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Good ventilation adjustable armor
Cons: Heavier weight than I expected

Even though it was a mesh jacket, the armor does make it heavy, but that's the price for being protected. Nicely constructed and it does have good ventilation.

Pros: air flow, looks, armor, price
    Cons: [None]

Two family members bought this jacket for hot summer riding. Flows a lot of air, looks good on. Fit is quite generous. Liner is functional but somewhat tough to put inout quickly. All in all this is a great jacket for warm weather riding and you can't beat the price

Cool Economy - Scotty in MN   MN Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Inexpensive. Armor is adequate. Very Cool Stylish. Removable liner.
Cons: Not the best construction. Somewhat of a rough feel to it.

I got this as a summer jacket, to add protection both sun and crash for our long club rides. The price is awesome for what you get I removed the back armor plate because it was too hot with it. There are 3 permanent spine protectors that are much less obtrusive. The other armor can be swapped out, but they seem adequate. Once moving, this jacket is very cool. And if it rains just throw on the liner and you're covered. And it's a great deal

Eldercycle - Eldercycle   NV Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Price, quality, appearance
    Cons: Cuff closure, ventilation

A nice jacket for the price. Quality is good. Would like more ventilation ie some zippered openings in front and rear. Still hot in Nevada desert. Size slightly on the small side, especially at the waist. The cuffs have an inconvenient snap closure versus velcro, however they do have zippers.

Great Jacket - Andrew   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Relective strips greatly inprove visibility jacket is very comfortable - it fits well and the removable liner lets you use the jacket across a wide range of temperatures
Cons: The logos on the side are perferated, so they allow rain to get in, despite the rest of the jacket being waterproof resistant

I really like this jacket for riding in Western Washington. I use it during the summer without the liner and the winter with the liner - though the rain and crappy conditions limit how much i can get out on my bike in the winter in Seattle.I was wary of the rather subdued color scheme initially, but the reflective strips significantly boost your visibility at nightThe coin pocket on the left sleeve is a perfect place for my key.Fortunately I've never carshed, so I can't speak to the protection levels, but it's held up well to normal wear and tear - I would buy it again if it gets stolen

Great price. Good looks - Larry   AL Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Looks, Breathability
    Cons: questionable quality

Living in the south I needed a well ventilated jacket to offer me summer protection. My first jacket had issues with the snaps on the sleeve. In my initial adjustments, one button broker and another ripped out of the fabric. Due to great customer service, I was able to return it and get another one. So far the second one is holding up. It breathes well when I am riding, offers protection from the sun and good visibility without having a loud and tacky design or color.

Nice but... - Gecko   MA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Good value, sharp looking
Cons: Sleeves too long, elbow armor too low

This is a nice jacket and very sharp looking. It also wents well for hot weather riding. I ordered a large and it fit well in the shoulders and torso. However, the sleeves were way too long and the elbow armor accordingly too low. It was on my forearm rather than on my elbow. Im 5-10, 170 lbs. The other negative is there are too many snaps, I would much prefer Velcro, particularly on the cuffs. If you have a long arm sleeve length, this jacket might be perfect for you. I am looking for a another one, having return this to comp accessories.

Fly - 9ONE9   TX Recommended by Reviewer: No
    Pros: 0
Cons: Sleeves too short, armor migrates

I'm 6' 2, 195#. Tall and slim. I got this jacket in a large. The torso fit was good, but the sleeves were about 2 inches too short. Two miles down the road and I could see the cuffs of my gloves. The armor in the shoulders is all over the place, and the elbow armor is way too low - no telling where it would be in a get-off. Look for another jacket.
