Information and Details about the Firstgear Adventure Mesh Jacket
made by Firstgear
Providing 3/4 length coverage, the Adventure Mesh jacket is ideal for all day, hot weather riding. Extensive pocketing abounds to allow plenty of secure stowage of the essentials. For those who like it long-in their apparel or hours in the saddle- this is the jacket.

Overall a solid choice for a summer or warm weather jacket. Airflow is great as expected with a mesh jacket and the liner should enable you to use the jacket on cooler days. There is plenty of adjustment for sizing and it is more of a fuller US cut than european brands, which is typical for firstgear. Based on what we have seen, the operating temp is probably 60-100 degrees. However, to be comfortable for a long time at the bottom of the temp range, you would probably need to add a layer like a sweatshirt or something similar. The back pad is just that a pad. We suggest getting a sas-tex or d3o back pad to replace it. They do not cost much, but will certainly be more protective.. Remember.. We beat prices, so give us a call for a great deal! Hope this helps.

Sizing Help; The firstgear Adventure mesh jacket is true to size. We have tested and the according to the crew the sizing chart is accurate. I normally wear a large and the jacket fit perfect. Gave me just enough room to add a layer under it if needed.

Features:
  • Constructed of durable, tough and highly breathable,250-denier polyester mesh exterior
  • Removable windproof, water-resistant liner, stows easily in rear tail pocket
  • CE-approved armor at shoulders and elbows
  • Secure pocketing throughout for secure storage
  • Set and forget, adjustable wrist cuffs

Great Summer Jacket - Bill R.   MA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Highly Visible Great material, great fit, very functional with adjustment capabilities.
    Cons: None.

I have worn nothing but black cold weather and gray mesh warm weather riding suits for 10 years. About two weeks ago, a woman in a mini van almost drove over me while I was sitting at a T-intersection. She turn left off the top of the T onto the bottom of the T. I was waiting for traffic to clear to make my turn from the bottom of the T onto the top of T. I am 6'1 and ride a 600 lb. 1100 Moto Guzzi California EV Tour II with hard boxes. It was clear, sunny, no obstructions. I always thought that I was large and conspicuous. No More. She cut her turn and nearly drove right over me. I laid the bike all the way down to the right and she missed me by an inch. I ordered this HiViz jacket a day or two later. I rode with it yesterday, and like a beacon, I felt people's eyes on me and saw them tracking me. I am a convert and will get a Hi Viz Kilimanjaro later this year.

Great summer motorcycle jacket and fit - Bob M   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: bright, great fit, great summer motorcycle jacket, good armor
    Cons: [None]

this is my summer jacket for 60-90 degree weather here in columbus. the fix was perfect based on the chart and i really like having the removable liner. The armor is pretty good and I really like the bright high viz yellow. Traffic can be crazy here and after a near miss, all my gear is now going to be BRIGHT.... it really helps you be seen. Good by and makes a nice suit with using with the sliders kevlar allseason pants I bought back in march.

Great summer motorcycle jacket - Gary H   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: airflow, good fit, keeps you cool
    Cons: no thermal liner

Bought this jacket for hot weather to go with my Kilimanjaro jacket. I have a long road trip coming up and needed something that will function well in the summer weather, but can still get be thru the cool mornings and evenings. I have tested the jacket and with the liner in you can get down into the 50s and be OK with a little layering. In the mid-80s the jacket does well too with just a t-shirt on under it. Overall I really like the jacket and have already recommended it to a couple friends. Sizing for me was good. 6 foot tall, 200 lbs, was a large. With the large, I have just enough room for a fleece or sweatshirt if needed too. Hope this helps.

Warm weather solution - mogan   WA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Functional, good fit
    Cons: liner

#1 If you are going to buy a ventilated jacket buy a light colored one. I previously had a black one and while it worked fine as long as you were moving, it turned into a sauna as soon as you stopped. This First gear Jacket is comfortable and fits well. The sizes tend to run large I'm 6' 4 250lb and a XLT fits great. With a liner the jacket is good down to 55, at least for an hour or so and with the liner and a sweater underneath it could be a 3 season jacket. The only fault I find is with the liner and the cuff sinches. The sinches are single position snaps, a velcro sinch would be a nice improvement. The liner sleeves are held in by 2 snaps that quite often release when taking the jacket off. The liner is also suppose to be rain proof, but while I haven't tried it in the rain I have my doubts. My rain jacket makes a better liner as both a wind braker and rain barrier. This is a vast improvement over a heavy leather jacket in warm weather and may even give better protection because of the armor.

Breezin - Hecam   GA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Mesh all summer
    Cons: [None]

Bought this a few weeks ago to replace a Joe Rocket mesh, lost some weight and needed a smaller jacket. Have a First gear textile jacket that is several years old and heard good things about their Mesh and I had to try one. Great fit & finish on mine, Silver & black, easy to remove the liner and it flows some air That really helps in Georgia commute. Plenty of large reflective areas for night time too. I recommend this Mesh Tex jacket and the Firstgear brand. If you see the older version at discount- same fabric just restyled.

Great Jacket - RTRIDER   NY Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Fit, Style, Protection
    Cons: [None]

Everything about this jacket is well thought out and initial quality appears great, save one tiny item. The main zipper has a nylon cord for the pull-tab, which for me doesn't work well, but to small of a problem to list it as a 'con'. The fit is great, not all jackets can be ordered in Tall sizes, and I'm over 6ft tall with long arms. I've only had it for a short time, but went through 50 or so miles of rain with no problems. Even small details, such as rubber coated snaps prevent unwanted scratches on your bike, especially around the tank. It's just a great jacket

Pros: It fits well, is comfortable to wear, and provides good protection.
    Cons: [None]

I am very happy with my new Firstgear Killimanjaro Jackets. I had actually looked at it a year ago and thought about buying it then, but postponed the purchase. This is the second Firstgear jacket I own and I'm very satisfied. It provides enough warmth to ride when it's in the low 40s with a heated liner jacket - I'm a cold-blooded woman I haven't worn it yet in warm weather, but I'll be wearing it this weekend when temps go from mid 40s in the morning to mid 70s in the afternoon. With the built-in liner and the zipped in helmet liner, it provides a lot of options for more riding weather. I have a Firstgear mesh jacket for summer riding.

    Pros: Works
    Cons: none found ... yet

I purchased these as well as the Carbon gloves. Price was an issue with me as the others, Gerbing etc... were more expensive. I wear this under the FirstGear Kathmandu jacket. It works as advertised. It gets warm pretty fast and stays that way. Now, I ride a 2008 Kawasaki Concours 14 which gets me out of most of the wind except for the hands, see the Firstgear Carbon review..I was hoping, though I never asked, that this liner would zip into the Firstgear jacket but it doesn't. It is a separate jacket. I bought a large as I wear size large shirts so the liner is snug but not tight. The outer jacket I bought an X-Lrg and is a perfect combination.

Great jacket for touring - Wil from PA   PA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Lots of storage, adjustable, waterproof, warm
Cons: Slow pocket access, can get warm

Wore this jacket for my 4 day Fall Foliage trip on my GSX650F. Temperature was in the low 30's to mid 50's. Kept me warm through the ride, with just a base-layer and a long sleeve-T on. You can still feel that it's cold but it doesn't make you shiver. Rode through one day in the wet and it kept me dry. The collar worked great to keep the chill from getting to my neck. Had lots of storage pockets on the front and a couple inside. They work great to keep your stuff, but can be very hard to get in and out of quickly like when I was getting gas. Jacket gets really warm when it's in the 50's, riding in traffic and direct sunlight. Overall, great jacket designed for touring with and I see many more trips in the future.

    Cons: [None]

First ride with this jacket temps were low 30's. was riding an FZ1, so minimal wind protection. With just a gerbing liner it kept me warm on an all day ride. Great pocket location, and the two way zipper was a big plus. Got this jacket for 299, for that price it's a great value.

Pros: Top quality Jacket. Size XL is a good fit for me.
    Cons: none

I rode with the liner in in the morning, and removed it in the afternoon, when the temp warmed-up. Real comfortable equipment. I like it better than my RoadGear jacket. Just as much protection in a lighter more durable, more comfortable design. Also Competition Accessories have got the best price on the internet. Thanks CA for keeping riders #1.

great air flowing jacket - cacy   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Lightweight, waterproof, comfortable while riding
    Cons: not too many

I bought this one because I live in Texas and lately it's been over 100 degrees and while it's nice to just rock a t-shirt, my peace of mind isn't there without a jacket. I like this jacket a lot, it's got great flow, it fits me pretty wellim skinny and tall and the armor did save my bacon once, but that was just the arm, not the back.

Firstgear Mesh Tex - Bbiker   AL Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: lightweight, fairly cool, waterproof with the liner in
Cons: used snaps rather than velcro on sleeve closures

I got the hi vis color for a tour of several states. The jacket worked great. With the liner it was warm on 55 degree mornings and without it was cool on some100 degree OK. days. In the rain, the liner was waterproof and although the mesh got wet it dried in a few minutes when the rain stopped. I did not get to test the armor in a fall but it seems to be substantial and the mesh fabric itself is tough. On the hottest days I would put a wet towel around my neck and inside the jacket. Airflow through the jacket would dry the towel in about 20 minutes keeping me cool in the process. The snap closures on the sleeves worked fine but velcro tabs would allow more flexibility in tayloring the sleeve opening to your gloves and the weather. The snaps were the only knock I had with this excellent piece of clothing.

good jacket - Sean M   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: longer sleeves and torso
    Cons: zippers can be difficult

I ordered this one after ordering the previous iteration of this jacket XXL from a different online seller and sending it back due to poor fit over sized body circumference, short body length and short sleeve length. I cam across the product video compacc.com did on youtube.com for the 2013 model, and decided to give it a try. I was scared because I had already basically spent 15 to ship the return back to try on a jacket that didn't fit, and now was making the same gamble. This time I ordered a XLT I am 6'5' 250lbs with long arms. It came yesterday and I was sooo happy it FITS The sleeves on the new model are a bit longer as well as the body is a bit longer and has the added drop seat in the back. If I were to change anything, I would make it maybe 1' longer in the body, but, like I said before, the sleeves are perfect. The zippers are quite difficult to operate, but I hope they will get broken in and a little easier to use. This jacket is fairly warm, but I would not want to ride in sub 50 degree weather with it. Also, an upgrade from the previous version, the armor actually feels like it would help during a crash. Overall, I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a jacket to fit fairly tall people.

Pros: Versatile, great protection, nice ventilation.
Cons: Trying to come up with some....

I was reluctant to buy the Kathmandu jacket and pants due to the initial got over it price. Let me tell you this...it's worth every penny I wore the jacket and pants to a cornerspin school last weekend and took some pretty hard spills in dirt. I just knew I was destroying the suit. Got home and threw it in the washer and it came out like it was still new I could not believe itThe armor protected me very well I did wear a back plate also I came down hard on my left forearm and elbow and with out the protection of this gear I feel no doubt there would have been injury...I got up dusted off and throttled on...Do yourself a favor, stop thinking about the price and just know you stand a better chance of riding more comfortably in this suit....not to mention more safely

Buy this and some gloves with the money you save - CaseyOD   FL Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Build quality, YKK Zippers, Zip Out Liner
Cons: Only okay ventilation, no hand warmer pocket

For the money this is an amazing jacket. I have the Tourmaster Transition 3 Jacket as well and there really is no comparison in terms of quality. I like all the features of the Transition 3 but you can absolutely tell that the quality control is not nearly as high on this Firstgear jacket. The first thing I did with both, when I received them, was check every single stitch. The Tourmaster is decent but there are areas, like on the reinforced elbows and the reflective piping, where the stitching went off the edge of the part being sewn in. A section of the reflective piping is frayed on one side. These are things that will definitely affect the long term durability of the product. The Jauntr jacket on the other hand is absolutely perfect. There were no hanging threads. The stitching is immaculate and perfectly spaced both inside and out. This was my first Firstgear product. After seeing how great it was I ordered the Firstgear softshell liner because I wanted a light jacket for the Florida winter. It's equally well made. Hopefully they continue making products with this level of quality control because I will definitely buy more as needed. As for the jacket itself, it's a basic 34 length jacket. It fits true to size in my opinion. I'm 6'0 with a 46 Chest and the XL fits great. The armor is CE approved and fits decently, not too loose which is a concern with a loose fitting jacket like this. The armor also provides a decent level of coverage, with the elbow armor extending well down your forearm. There is an elastic band around the back of the jacket for a snug but flexible fit around your waist. If it's too loose, on cold days you can cinch it up with the waist adjusting bands. The collar is very high and lined with microfleece so on cold days, with a full face helmet, you don't get a cold neck. The collar also has a tab holder so you can leave it open on hotter days by locking it in place with velcro. There is not much in the way of venting 2 vents on the front shoulders and 2 vents on the back. However, they really work well together. The back vents are along the sides and towards the bottom of your back so the air flows in at your shoulders, across and around your back, and out the rear. The vents have mesh in front of them to keep out bugs and they vent directly to the skin. I bought this mostly for fall, winter, spring on days when it's too cold for my lightweight alpinestars jacket but the venting is effective enough that I have worn this jacket comfortably in temps up to about 80 degrees. Anything higher than 85 and I think you'd probably get a little too uncomfortable. With the liner in the venting doesn't got directly to your skin but to the liner, however it still passes quite a bit of cool air to the body. My Tourmaster has a similar set up with the shoulder vents going directly to the skin but other vents going to the inner waterproof shell. The net effect is that it kind of cools but it also can balloon and feel like a sail pulling you back. I'm not sure why this is, I've tried opening different vents to varying degrees and haven't figured out how to make it not do this. I haven't experienced this at all with the Firstgear. I haven't ridden this jacket in the rain but Firstgear claims that this jacket is waterproof. Based on the build quality I'd have a hard time believing that it isn't. The actual shell is the waterproof portion so there isn't a floating waterproof shell inside of the outer shell. This helps to cut down on weight and, in my experience increases breathability. The internal liner is not a destination layer but it is a very nice addition to the jacket. I've ridden down into the 30's, with the vents open, and was very comfortable. I live in FL but am originally from KS and I'm sure that with a sweatshirt or similar item that you could easily wear this in temperatures into the teens and below and be comfortable. The weak link would be your gloves, not the jacket. The liner snaps in using plastic snaps that seem to be of high quality. The snaps on the pockets and front are high quality metal spring snaps which should last a very long time. One thing I really like about this jacket are those snaps. The front storm flap uses 5 of these snaps. It's a double flap storm flap which should keep out the wind and weather, and when you get to where you're going you don't have to unhook a full strip of velcro, which I find annoying. The Tourmaster has velcro all the way down, which provides a great seal, but it's annoying to make that ripping sound trying to get out of the jacket. Another plus to the snaps is that you only have to undo 2 of them to get to the internal document pocket, PLUS you don't have to unzip the jacket to get to it. The document pocket, where I keep my wallet when riding, is between the storm flap and the main zipper. This is a great touch and I wish all manufacturers did this. A couple of things that would be nice on future versions of this jacket, but may not happen because this jacket is built to a price point are-micro velcro on the parts that are velcro like the cuffs and neck always a nice feature-handwarmer pockets the position of the front cargo pockets is great for storing items but when you've stopped at a destination it's not the most comfortable to put your hands in.-both upper and lower sleeve take ups this is on the new version of the Jaunt-a rabbit pouch on the back to put the liner in when it's too warmFor this price, if I were looking to get a great all around 3 season jacket that you could stretch into summer depending on where you live, I don't think you can do better. Yeah, my tourmaster has more pockets but they're also all velcro and kind of a hassle to use. My tourmaster has more vents but for some reason this seems to vent better. I like my tour master jacket and I wear it, on cloudy days, for visibility, as I got the red. My Jaunt is black and although it does have reflective piping I do feel a little safer on cloudy days wearing a big red stop sign on my back. Last thing to mention is that this jacket has YKK zippers all around. These are the standard and they work flawlessly. I've had some other jackets that say they are YKK but they were clearly fakes because they broke or didn't operate smoothly. These are the real deal. They cost a little more but you get a great product. I got my Jaunt on clearance at Competition Accessories. I think it was a Christmas special or something. The price has gone up a little bit but it's still a steal at 130 bucks. You won't find this quality with this amount of features on any other jacket for 130 bucks. You can get the price, and you can get the features sometimes more but believe me when I say you will not get this kind of quality for 130 bucks. I'd love to be able to buy an Olympia or similar touring jacket but for a guy on a budget this jacket really does get you a lot of the way there. If you're looking at some of the 200 dollar jackets, do yourself a favor, get this one and buy yourself some good winter gloves with the money you save. I got some of the Sliders Cold Pro gloves awhile back and am very happy with the quality of these gloves. httpwww.compacc.compSliders-Cold-Pro-Kevlar-Armored-Gloves1015003Happy riding.

Pros: Great construction, fit, venting, price...
Cons: Rearranged the waist strap, now everything's PERFECT.

I LOVE this jacket. I would say the size is plenty big. I normally buy xl in most of my shirts but I followed their sizing chart and only got a Large. The sleeves are plenty long, the jacket comes down the back plenty far. If you are HUGE in your shoulders it might be a little tight on you mostly from the shoulder protection plastics. My only complaint was that the adjustment straps for the waistline would rub with the sleeve as you move your arm next to your waist. I figured out that if I undid the strapvelcro and turned it 180 degrees, it puts the velcro on the inside and doesn't rub at all. It feels a little bit 'jabby' in the chin but once your on the bike with a helmet it feels right.

I bought this jacket for protection and as an insurance policy against all the idiots out there that don't see riders. I can assure you, people see me coming in the Day-glo Kilimanjaro. You can definitely tell that folks notice you provided their head isn't down in 'praying' position while they're texting and driving. Plenty warm with the liner in and the vents closed good cooling air flow when the vents are open and the liner out. Tons of pocket room as well, so you'll always have a place for your wallet, cell phone, etc. Excellent quality construction. Looking forward to geting lots of miles out of this one. Highly recommended....

Best built jacket I've ever worn. The materials, stitching and design are bomber. Keeps wind and water out even at very high speed. Exceeds expectations. The one drawback: The front pockets are way overdone. A simple snap or zipper would do. No one wants to rip apart 3 layers of noisy velcro sandwich just to get a pen. Then have to put it all back together with gloves on. Just keep it simple. But overall, a very good jacket for hostile environments.

Decent for the money,,, - SS1   TX Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Silver color heat reflective. Modest appearance. Good airflow.
Cons: Collar could use some padding. Cuffs are a bit large.

This is the 2nd Mesh Tex I've purchased Smaller size due to weight lossNo real surprises from the first. Airflow, while not as 'intense' at low speeds as large mesh, is plentiful and the jacket has a bit more mesh area than other jackets.Living in Texas, the heat can be intense. Finding a jacket in 4XL that isn't 'mostly black' can be challenging. The Mesh Tex in Silver is about as 'light colored' as it gets. It's a 'shiny shimmering' silver vs. a dull silver. Admittedly, the color was a major factor in both my purchases.Build quality is decent,,, Not as plush as some of my Higher-end T-masters, but not as expensive either. If I had to change anything, it would be the collar. A little padding would go a long way towards comfort. The elbowshoulder armor is encased individually in nylon-like 'pouch's' which attach to the jacket interior via Velcro. It allows for some adjustment in armor location. The cuffs are large and have a single snap to close,,, The jacket material kind of bunch's up a bit when closed, but probably more of a fashioncomfort concern than anything else. Not bothersome, but seems like it could be 'better'. For a Summer jacket, I actually prefer a button cuff to Velcro as it's consistent. quick, and doesn't try to inter-breed with the Velcro on my glovesAll in all, not a bad warm weather jacket for the . 50 y.o. male riding an F6B in Houston

First time I have purchased this brand. Good jacket for the price. I took my spine pad from my JoeRocket jacket and put it in this one.

Works - Benoit   IN Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Just works tall neck
    Cons: Too loose

This works. I have never been cold with this equipment. I actually alway run it at a low setting. I wish it was tighter however I have added a polar fleece vest on top and under my jacket and it fills the voids, preventing air infiltrations, and keeps the liner close to the body.Even though the wire for the gloves is short, I can stand on the bike for adventure touring without disconnecting.

Best so far - Pete   MA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Fit, design, range, visibility
    Cons: Price, vents

Terrific jacket. Much better than its predecessor. Just put 1000 miles on it in temps ranging from 50s to high 80s, sun and rain, and it was a pleasure to wear. Felt conspicuous enough in the white color. Love the large front waterproof pockets. Like the longer back which stays tucked under. Love the flaps and closures, front and wrists which you can adjust even underway. Went with a larger size which feels comfortable but not bulky due to its great design. Only wish there were vents on the arms. A little pricy but well worth it.

Lightweight and Comfortable - SuzukiRamblinMan   GA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Lightweight, very bright hi-viz yellow color, good armor
Cons: No velcro on sleeve take ups

Bought this mesh jacket to wear most of the year in Georgia. I figure the zip in liner will last me through the fall. With the liner out, it is very lightweight, flexible and the most comfortable motorcycle jacket I have ever worn. I picked this one because of the good price and very bright high visibility yellow color. Believe me, I can be seen in this jacket. Tons of air flow through this jacket and it's cool and comfortable at all times except when stopped in traffic and its a July or August day in Georgia, and there is no jacket that will not make you sweat during those time, but just get up to speed and it's great. I am 6'-1 and 200 lbs and the extra large fits fine and gives me enough room for a sweatshirt underneath when the weather turns cold this winter. I highly recommend this jacket.

Tall guys this is for you - khorton44   KY Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: sleeve length is perfect, flows air well, lightweight, looks good, decent armor
Cons: just a little too roomy in body, cinching around wrists could be a little tighter

Hey guys, I'm 6'5 tall and weigh in at 240lbs. This jacket is a great buy for those of us who are big and tall. Compared to other brands, I've found Firstgear's tall sizes to be the best. The sleeves are nice and long and don't ride up like the others. As soon as i tried it on, I knew that I'd try to buy Firstgear apparel from here on out. The quality seems to be pretty good, although I've only had it for a little over a month so time will tell. The armor is pretty standard in this price range, and it flows a decent amount of air. I do wish it had a couple of air vents along the torso and arms, like my other TourMaster, but it's a small gripe. Anyways bigtall guys buy with confidence you wont be disappointed.

NOW I'm seen - Louis   AZ Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Hi-Viz color is high on body
    Cons: None

The reason I chose this brandmodel is I wanted more of the Hi-Viz color higher on my torso as I am on a bike with a good sized fairing V-Strom and I have a large trunk behind me. Some of the other brands have a lot of black color on the upper shoulders, exactly where I want more color because it's the highest point of my body other than my head.I have a full-sized touring jacket with armor in a size medium and was worried the XSSM size would be too small. No worries, it fit perfect. I am 5' 9 and 160lb's.

Great value jacket - L. Siv   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: fantastic venting, comfortable neck and wrist closures
Cons: no removeable liner to extend temp comfort range, limited pockets, armor upgrade recommended

This is a great buy for a warm weather jacket. I upgraded the armor to have more faith in crash protection, especially the flimsy foam back piece, and have had no issue with decreased air flow caused by Knox armor in a temperate climate.

Pros: keeps you dry in the rain.
Cons: zippers are hard to work .

like the fit , but not happy about the zippers , they do not work properly and the closure at the top with the material going across the zipper area. it makes it difficult. to work the zippers and trying to get the zippers started is a job in all its own. Maybe in the future the zippers will get easier to work. Do not like the double zipper at the bottom the idea is ok but it makes it hard to get the zipper started. The venting system does not allow enough air to get in. It should have a chest vent also. Have to leave zipper down part of the way to get enough air.

poor pocket design - keith   NM Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: water proof, wind proof
    Cons: poor pocket design

where as the suit is nice and light while providing protection from the elements the front lower cargo pockets leave a lot to de desired. the pockets have an envelope closure with velco to keep it closed but the material is not stiff enough to retain it's shape after a couple of uses. if you tighten the hip belt any at all that also deforms the pocket further. with he use of rubberized zippers on the vents and two other pockets it would have been nice to follow through with the idea. i would not trust the pockets to retain or keep any valuables dry.

Good Quality, poor fit for me - Joel   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Great construction, Hi-Viz, Warm
Cons: Extremely large in chest, Adjustment belt in wrong place

Ordered this after trying Sliders 34 jacket. First Gear quality is great as well as their customer service. The jacket however was so large in the chest and waist that when cinched down it wanted to billow up around neck. In the end returned for First Gear Rush Jacket.

I'll keep my old jacket... - Kevin   Recommended by Reviewer: No
    Pros: Warm, Bright Hi-Viz
Cons: Sizing Too Large, Ridiculously Tall Collar...

I had been using my trusty Joe Rocket Ballistic 4.0 34 length jacket off and on since 2005. It has served me well, but I finally decided that I wanted a Hi-Viz jacket, so I tried the Jaunt T2 tried to order the Tourmaster Epic, but it was sold out.... I've had other FirstGear products, and have been happy with their quality and design. Recieved the Jaunt, and immediately noticed it was on the large side I normally wear a 48XL jacket, and ordered an XL Jaunt. I had to cinch the waist adjusters almost the their limit to get it to fit.The collar is freakishly tall...as in neck brace tall. When the jacket is unzipped, the collar tab covers half of my face. When zipped, I had to bend at the waist in order to look down. The collar is also very tight...I have a 17 neck and whilel the collar snap was at the far end of it's adjustable track, it was nearly choking me. The sleeve cuff openings are huge...so large in fact, it makes me wonder if FG's crack team of engineers ever tried on gaunlet gloves with the jacket once they finished with the design. Once you wrap the cuff around and secure the velcro tabs, there is so much material that I couldn't put my winter gaunlet gloves on...not a good feature of a 4 seasons jacket. The jacket did seem very warm though as I wore it in my garage. I wanted to like this jacket, I really did...

Basically an out layer . Gone are the liners unless you buy them. Gone are rubber zippers on pockets. Gone on side opening on pockets. Gone is waist draw string. Gone are 2 upper pockets . Outer layer is a just 320 denier down from 600 . Single line stitching all over. Not close to the 2012 in valve , protection .

Cons: sleeves to tight on fore arms,no adjustability there

Who ever designed this jacket never tested it in cold weather,I didnt go ten miles before stopping to check if zipper was closed....it was but no insulation the entire length of zipper so cold air hits you right in the center of your body which quickly lowers core temp...put on my heated vest on high and rode another 50 miles but even with vest on high was still cold...air temp was 45F This is totally unacceptable, bought jacket to ride to Tuscon mid April from Wis. but will have to wear my old Cortech....Hope I can get my money back.
