A dual sport tire - scooter 1   FL Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: excellent off road grippredictable on roaddurable on light weight bike
    Cons: still looking

am most impressed with these on my Kawasaki KLX250S. currently on my second set. first rear lasted 4700 miles and was still functional for my purposes. front is still good but slightly cupped from running low pressure while getting to my off road riding area. now use electric pump to adjust for off road,on road conditions. expect to use these tires exclusively until someone comes up with something better. highly recommended

Wear quickly, but known entity - TaserThis   CA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Gives confidence and works very well while on gravel. Also a good performer up to certain speeds on asphalt
    Cons: Wears quickly on rear.

For those sojourns on gravel, nice to have the confidence and performance of the knobs, particularly on off camber turns with a big GS. Prefer not to go down in term of safety and the cost of things broken on a low speed wash out. Just a whole different mental experience having the TKC's vs less capable hybrid tires more oriented toward street, where doubt is ever present. Having ridden TKC's, they are a known quantity on the asphalt, keeping in mind a VMax that Ive found more than sufficient. There are other tires of this this type, say 6040 thru 4060 that cost less, and are probably good options, however Competition Accessories deal for a packaged set of TKC's is hard to beat, and I made the decision because of the TKC's capability, that I'd rather pay what ultimately is only a little more for the known quantity, to have the familiarity and predictability, particularly in the rain on asphalt. Competition Accessories delivered them with blazing speed. They arrived even before their tracking system confirmed they were shipped These used to be made in Germany, they are now manufactured in Korea.

Consisent performance - muddygs   MI Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Aggressive and versatile
    Cons: Lower mileage life

I've put over 100k miles on TKC-80s. Great tire for riding to the mountain twisties included and then going up the trails once you get there.

Great tire - longrider 1   MT Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Stands up well to both dirt and asphalt
Cons: Higher price, but lasts longer

I've had these tires before on a GS on the haul road and then back to the states. They made the whole trip without problems. Excellent traction where I needed it and good on the wet highway.Even when they were wore out they performed well.

conti twinduro tkc 80 tires - george martinetti   FL Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: 1.sticks well both on and off road 2.stable 3. easy to mount
    Cons: sings at higher speeds

can't comment on durability as currently there are only about 1200 miles on them- no visible wear yet.handles hard pack and light sand well. will drop pressure on sugar sand. wet red clay- still looking for improvement seems to load up and not release clumps. on road comfortable, good grip, predictable.

Great Dual Sport Tires - Texas254   TX Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Super tires for my kind of dual sporting
Cons: Not optimum for deep sand or mud

This is my 3rd set. 1 set on a BMW R1200GS in Alaska and this will be the 2nd set on a BMW X-Challenge in Texas. They are predicable on the street and paved roads getting to the dirt. They handle great on hard pack, gravel and dirt. They do well in sand up to a point, like 3-4 inches deep, and wet dirt. They aren't as biting in deep sand or serious mud as some purpose designed tires. I've done thousands of miles on them, 50-50 pavement dirt, and am completely happy with them. I'm an average dirt rider so I don't do the extreme stuff intentionally that would require the super knobs.

Continental Twinduro TKC 80 Tires - Rear - Cls Bolivia   FL Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Very nivel tire
    Cons: [None]

Yes, i would highly recommend this product.

Ready for SERIOUS adventure - DakotaDakar   SD Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Best adventure tour tire if you get off the hard stuff.
    Cons: The don't last long.

I've run TKC80s on four different BMW GS bikes over the years. I recently got a new 2012 GSA and took off the stock Tourances after just 1500 miles and put TKC80s on. Tourances are OK in gravel IF it's dry. But if you ever get into true dirt, or anything wetmuddy, you need TKC80s. In hard pavement cornering they do well until you get out on the outer row of knobs, where a slight weave begins. They also add a little buzz through the pegs and grips. The biggest downside is that I change rear TKC80s at about 4000 miles. Even having said all that, there is NO other tire for me when it comes to adventure touring.

TKC 80 Performance - Richnewt   WA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Best knobby available for the BMW R1200GS. Good traction on pavement too.
Cons: Only good for about 4000 miles in mixed pavement and off pavement riding 5050

    See above pros and cons.
