These Motorola radios are available just about anywhere, so you and your riding buddies can all ad this package and then have almost an unlimited amount of riders talking at up to 5-10 mile ranges ( depending on the motorola range ). Mag-9 Sena - Larry   TN Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Drop down internal visor works better and easier than my Nolan
Cons: It was a little snugger than my Nolan N43 and had to order thinner cheek pads and of course at my cost

See pros and cons, but overall I really like my Bell

Definilty Recommend the Mag-9 from Bell - Markall   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Drop Down Visor and Bluetooth
Cons: was a little small, so exchanged up.. Exchange was fast and easy.

This is a great helmet for the money. The only problem I've had was the fit. I ordered an xlarge and it was too small. Returned for xxlarge and it fits fine. Having the sun visor that pops down has been a huge plus for me. I would definitely recommend this helmet.

Nice Helmet - Michael   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: [None]
    Cons: [None]

I was looking to add comfort and styling to my collection and found this helmet in the exact color I wanted I prefer the open face helmets but found them lacking in style. This helmet hits the mark. It wraps solidly around my head sitting nice and low, has amazing cushioning that can be removed for ease of cleaning, and I love the automatic sunshade Even the chin strap is cushioned for greater comfort. The air vents are sufficient, and the noise level is quite low. The face shield offers multiple adjustments and good visibility, and also fits at chin level when fully closed, providing ultimate protection. I love this helmet and recommend it highly.

Decent 34 - Bell Mag 9 Helmet   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Good airflow, fairly quiet, minimal buffeting
Cons: Old style chinstrap, shield doesn't come down far enough

After years of Nolan helmets in both and modular, I thought it was time for a change. I have a long oval head, about a 7 58 hat size, and fitting a helmet is always tough without breaking the bank. I'd always end up with a hotspot headache in the forehead. I've gone so far as to use sandpaper to take out another 18 of room on the styrofoam, which I know isn't kosher. This one does pretty well as far as fit. It also seems fairly quiet at 70, and with little or no lift behind the windshield. Lo and behold the sunshield actually comes down to a usable level, which is never the case with the Nolans. Two cons are the faceshield does not come down far enough, and with the bill on the helmet, there's a weird high frequency buffeting I've never seen with any of the Nolans. Strange as well is that with the faceshield up, I didn't get any more buffeting.than when it was down.So on a longer ride without the bill easily removed, by the way, the high frequency buffeting is gone. Even with the shield up, the buffeting doesn't become unbearable. Now if I could only transfer the Nolan chinstrap mechanism.

Mag 9 - P McIntyre   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Decent oval skull fit, quiet, good sunshield
Cons: High freq buffeting with bill on

Tried this helmet after years of Nolans, and having to elongate the interiors to fit my head.. The shape of the Mag 9 seems to fit my skull. The helmet is as quiet as it needs to be at speed, but with the bill on there's a strange high frequency buffeting I've never seen before. Fortunately the bill comes off easily. I believe that will eliminate that particular problem. Meanwhile, having the faceshield up, with the bill, seems to add zero turbulence to the equation. I'm still trying to understand how THAT part works. The sunshield drops down enough to be useful, which is a huge plus. I did get spoiled on the Nolan chinstrap connection, and would like to see something like that on the Bell.I'm using a Midland audio system which has more than it's share of faults, but I hear very little difference between the two brands in sound quality. All together, I'm liking what I see so far. A longer ride will tell more tales.

Just Purchased - Robert Simon   CA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Very low wind noise excellent fit
Cons: Sun Visor a little difficult to work

Well let me first say I own and ride a Trike with a shield, so I have a fair amount of wind protection to start off with. I wear a small in helmet size and the fit is excellent and the space for the speakers is pretty deep. I bought this to add the SMH10 at some point down the road. In the mean time I may just add some helmet speakers before I spend the extra dough on the SMH10. So I took a couple hour ride traveling at speeds from 35MPH to 70MPH. I found the drop down sun visor somewhat hard to actuate but easy to flip up. But its not a deal breaker for me and that is the only reason I gave the helmet 4 stars instead of 5.I have owned maybe 5 different types of helmets from to full face to modular types and all different manufactures. The funny thing is I have found wind noise worse in full face and modular helmets than type units. Why that is I dont know. Anyway the wind noise is very minimal. What really surprised me was that when I put the shield down the road noise was cut down by a good 30 to 40 percent. In fact it cut the motor noise down by so much that I thought if there was an engine problem I was not going to be able to hear it, so helmet speakers should work really well. The chin strap material is fairly thin compared to every other Helmet I have owned. Again if the chin strapped is locked in place this should not be a problem. It just has a cheap feel to it. When I was riding a 2 wheeler I loved the feel of security that a full face Helmet provided, on a Trike though I have more freedom to look around while riding and a seems to provide a lot more un-restricted views.I am not one to spend a ton of money on a helmet, and this came in at price point I needed. A chin guard would be nice but again I am riding a trike my risk of a crash due to road debris or loosing balance is nearly completely removed.

Bell Mag-9 and Sena Bluetooth is a good package - Ryan   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: [None]
    Cons: [None]

The Bell Mag 9 Sena helmet is priced about right for what you get. The fit is as advertised, with an intermediate oval shape, and it sits comfortably on the head. I wear prescription glasses and I found that the tinted drop-down sun shield left plenty of room between it and my frames. Ventilation is good and there is nor buffeting or pulling on the helmet at high speed. I like to wear ear buds. Sena offers a helmet clamp option for other helmets that allow the use of ear buds with the SMH-10, but unfortunately it is not available with this Bell helmet if you want to use the integrated Sena mounting system that was specifically designed into this model. Really that is the only negative that I could come up with and it really isn't a big deal for most riders. One other thing to think about I ordered the white and isn't a true bright white color as you would infer from the images on the web it is more an almond tone. All in all, I would highly recommend this helmet to those who are looking for a good medium priced helmet that will perform competently.

Open face comfort - ADV Rider   VT Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: broad range of visibility and the ability to communicate easily
Cons: clear plexiglass wont stay up

It's nice to see and talk again, and both glass components are very functional when down. The clear visor wont stay up for me, as preferred on short trips to the store. I really like the solid sun visor, too

mag 9 - Jerry R   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: fits good
Cons: hidden cost to use bluetooth helmet was built to use

nice helmet but was surprised that to use Sena SMH10 you need to use special clamp unit. one other issue is charging on the road. the Sena unit mounts into the side of the helmet blocking the charge port so you have to remove to charge it. This doesnt happen when you mount it using the universal clamp on bracket.
