Great boots - KConnors VA
Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Great comfort and great protection
Cons: Run a little small, ordered up a 12 size.
This is my second pair of these boots. The first pair were scuffed up pretty bad in an accident - but my feet and ankles were well protected spared injury. Very comfortable and Velcro straps make them easy to put on and take off.
The Alpinestars Ridge Boots are a good mid-height cruising boot. They did take a little time to break in, but now after 3 months and 5,000 miles are very comfortable.
I love these boots. They are very comfortable once broken in. Sizing seems to be good. Great boots.

Pros: Well made, quality and convenience off and on.
Cons: About half a size short.
Although I bought these boots in a brick and mortar store wore them around and decided they werejust right - after a good long day in the saddle and staggering around a campground in the eveningit became apparent I should have bought 10.5 rather than my regular size 10. During the 3 day rallyI was cussing them. Now, having said that . . . 3 years later I STILL wear them during hot weather. Isimply pack a pair of NB walking shoes to change into at the campground. When riding they don't hurt enough to warrant discarding them BUT if I ever catch them on sale for 100 or so I most likelywill replace them with size 10.5. Otherwise - top notch leather easy off and on and a really nice softbut supportive foot bed. Highly recommended just make sure the 'just right' feel when you first slide them on isn't going to be a 'squeeze' after a day's riding.
Very nice comfortable boots soft leather there was no break in period. I have been in the pouring rain several times very water proof my feet stayed dry. They are breathable but when it gets in the 90's your feet get warm. I could walk around all day in these very comfortable.
These boots are still too new to give an accurate rating, and they are still worth their price, but there are three things you need to consider if you've owned previous Ridge boots:
1. These boots are MUCH stiffer than the ‘08 model. They are as uncomfortable new as cheap cowboy boots. They are nothing like the soft leather of the 08s.
2. These boots feel like they have maybe half the ankle and shaft padding of the 08s may be the stiff leather. They rub your legs like a taller cruiser boot.
3. I've been wearing them for almost a month now, and they are still harsh and hard. My 08s felt like wearing tennis shoes after 10 minutes in the store with them on.
I like the toe guards 08s didn't have them and the adjuster strap actually works on the new ones, and I like the soles better, but overall I feel they’re not up to the elder’s quality. If they prove me wrong, I'll write a new review. :
