Nice Helmet - Tom T FL
Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Great bang for the buck - surprisingly good quality
Cons: Sunshield doesn't come down as far as I'd like
I bought this helmet for the hotter days of summer down here in Florida and it has turned out to be a pleasant surprise. I got spoiled by the quick-release strap feature on my old Nolan helmet and the AFX uses the same system. Once you get used to how quick and easy it is to attach and detach the strap it makes helmets with conventional D ring system seem antiquated, especially if you have a day of riding that is going to involve taking the helmet off repeatedly. The quality is quite good, both in the exterior finish and the interior lining. The pull down shield is great at protecting your face from rain, bugs, gravel, etc., and the sun shield is dark enough to eliminate the need for sunglasses. The only two minor negatives are that the shield has no lip to grab to pull it up and down and the sun shield doesn't come down as far as I'd like. If you feel comfortable riding with a 34 helmet versus a full face or modular, this helmet is a great choice

Disappointed - Jim E.
Recommended by Reviewer: No
Pros: Light weight, love the sun visor
Cons: Windscreen DOES scratch easily, wind noise is deafening
When there is a side wind which is all the time here a jet of air blows straight at my eye, it comes from where the windscreen meets the helmet at the bottom on each side. Its bad enough that i can't even keep my eye open If the the windscreen dropped down farther on each side it might stop it. Don't you guy's do any RD Now the wind noise is so loud at times I can't even hear the bike And that's at speeds below 50mph , I expect some especially at higher speeds, but once again don't you guy's do any RD And the windscreen does scratch easily , and it's from your own design When it is in the upright position it rub's against the sun visor and put's two mark's right in my DIRECT view And i thought keeping it in the upright position would keep it safe from scratch's when i wan't wearing it WRONG And again don't you guy's do any RD
Determine the circumference of the widest part of your head by using a flexible tape measure. Generally, the widest part of a person's head is the area 2.5cm (1") above the eyes and ears. However, we suggest measuring at a few points both above and below that line to determine the greatest measurement before referring to our size tables. We also suggest testing the fit of a helmet one size smaller and one size larger then what the chart recommends. No helmet can provide protection if it's too uncomfortable to wear.
