Pros: no boom mike, easy installation, all modes work well
Cons: volume marginal when wearing foam earplugs
The UClear set up is great. Very nice not having the boom mike to deal with. The audio quality is very good. Only problem I have is that volume is an issue when wearing Max foam earplugs which really cut down noise. Also, I do have a hearing problem and wear hearing aids a lot of the time when not riding. My SO and most people will not have a problem. Excellent product. Didnt want the UClear because I dont need bike to bike communication.
This headset is really great. Easy to install, in a Gmax54s I like the fact that there is no mic. After installing this headset I took a test drive to try my phone through it and see how my Garmin 665 sounded to through it as well. Compared to the chatterbox xbi2 that I used previously this headset is above and beyond! Prior to this headset people said they could not understand me while on the phone on the bike....... terrible road noise. This headset interfaces through my Garmin to my phone and works great, can now carry on a short conversation if necessary. I am not advocating talking and riding, but this headset works very well. Sounds great too, plenty of volume. Glad I made the switch!
Review for Uclear HBC100 Headset: overview
This headset is awesome. We used it in a test with the manufacturer at the 2011 dealer show. He put a helmet on us and pointed a leaf blower in our face. The person with the other helmet on could not even hear any noise from the leaf blower.. It is pretty amazing for sure. If you pair it with the WT 300 Hand Held Radio adapter you can get the range for whatever you plug it into.. so up to 3 miles or more in some cases. Definitely recommend this item..
I have tried Chatterbox, Blinc and others. this is hands down the best. Sound is clear and crisp even when on my ZX-10R. I can hear the conversations and music perfectly clear.
My wife and I love the Uclear HBC100 Headset!
I have had it for about 30 days and have used it extensively. I love that with the boom-less mic I do not feel like I am using a headset. We can talk clearly at any speed. I have tested this at 80 on the highway and have had no problems..
Did mention there is NO boom to irritate the crap out of your mouth..
Highly Recommend this.. To ALL.. Hope this helps, Ted.
Recently installed Uclear in mine and wifes HJC Is-Max modular helmets. Installation was easy, great not having a boom. Easy sync between helmets and pairing with cell phone. Everything works well, but volume is an issue since I wear foam earplugs. Barely can hear off bike with volume at max when in my house. Doubt volume will be adequate when on the bikes'02 R1150RT and '08 DL650.
