Throttlemeister Throttle-Lock - Utah Bill UT

Pros: Superior quality and workmanship
Cons: Design
This is the second Throttlemeister that I've owned. Installed the first one on a bike about ten years ago and it served me well. Installed this one on my current machine and it worked as well as the previous one but it drove me crazy that I couldn't set or un-set the device with one hand while maintaining speed. I either had to remove my left hand from the handlebar, reach across to hold the throttle while I used my right hand to set the lock, or I had to release my throttle to wind it on again while gripping the lock. To release, I either released the lock and suffered an immediate drop in speed or had to do the reach-across game again. But the quality was still exceptional. I'm sure the components will last longer than I will even if I live to a ripe old age. Two weeks after installing this unit, however, I purchased a BrakeAway throttle lock and I've gone to biker heaven. It allows me to set it while maintaining speed, release it while maintaining speed, and it auto-releases when I pull on the brake lever. About the same price as the Throttlemeister but a much, MUCH better design. Thus I can only give Throttlemeister three stars as there's a better mouse-trap out there even though the quality is excellent on the Throttlemeister.
