Information and Details about the Sliders All Season 2 Jackets with Kevlar
made by Sliders
Sliders All-Season 2 Kevlar Mesh jackets are the ultimate solution for all-weather performance. The external shell of the jacket is constructed of moto-ballistic mesh, which will allow air to pass right through, resulting in a comfortable ride even through those hot summer months. Inside the Sliders All Season 2 jacket you'll find a two stage liner system which can be installed independently of each other. The first stage is a waterproof barrier featuring a storm flap over the main zipper. Not only will this liner keep you nice and dry in wet weather, it also effectively blocks the wind in cooler weather. Getting really cold out? Install the quilted thermal liner in conjunction with the waterproof liner, and the Sliders Kevlar All Season 2 Jacket will keep you nice and warm. The 3/4 length of the Sliders All Season 2 Kevlar Mesh Jacket means you are fully covered no matter your riding position, and full length stretch panels down the sides allow for freedom of movement and lunch size. For protection, Sliders Kevlar gear uses 100% genuine Dupont Kevlar over the critical impact areas, with CE rated armor in the elbows and shoulders along with a foam back pad. The Sliders Kevlar Gear All-Season jacket is a bargain, and available exclusively here at Competition Accessories. Be sure to check out the Sliders All-Season pants if you need the full setup!

A great addition to my jackets - Bill L   MO Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Great fit, looks awesome, very protective
    Cons: Small interior pockets

I ride a Harley Davidson Road Glide but did not want to always look like a Harley Rider in black leather. I wanted a great warm weather jacket that gave me protection but kept me cool too. This jacket is awesome and my biker buddies really like it too so they may be ordering this soon. I typically wear a 42 chest sized jacket and this one is sized correctly. It runs just a little tighter than my other jackets but I probably won't use the thermal liner. Without the thermal liner it is perfect and exactly what I was looking for. The mesh keeps my cool and the kevlar and armor keeps me protected. The quality of this jacket is comparable to 350 jackets. I am totally happy with this jacket and would buy it again.

As Good As It Gets - DARKFIELDMX   NY Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Great Jacket - Offers nice protection, has lots of options
Cons: None - I really Like It.. and for 150 how could you go wrong,

I was looking for a lightweight jacket for those short brisk rides to work. this gets the job done very well. I'm 220lb fits fine. a Little long in the arms but not enough to take away from its value.Ride Safe All

Old Man - Bob S.   ID Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Comfort,Style,Length of the Jacket, Safety features
Cons: XL quilted liner fits tightly, but within comfort range

This jacket provides comfort, sufficient rider protection and vivid color that makes it very appropriate for riders on short or long rides. I live in an area where visibility on limited sight mountain roads requires as much visibility as possible. This jacket meets those requirements. I would recommend this item without reservation.

Sliders All Season 2 - Airwuf   AZ Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Cool, great fit, well manufactured, options with thermal and waterproof liners
Cons: Some of the velcro catches on pocket material.

This jacket was my second Slider jacket and I bought this one for warm weather riding as first was full textile cold weather gear. It fulfills this most excellently The liners that come with this jacket also give a great option of using it when riding up in elevation or into wet environs. It truly is an all season lightweight jacket system. Will consider this for wife as a great one-size-fits-all system for both hot and cold weather riding.

Best deal ever - Tennessee Rick   TN Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Visability, versitile, size consistent, good protection, comfortable, warm, best deal I've found anywhere
Cons: Heavy and bulky to store in bagstrunk, pockets not convenient

The basics Good fit ordering the size I would normally wear, well constructed, good protection with padding and kevlar.Though heavier and bulkier than my textile jacket it is quite comfortable when riding and moves well with me. Bulk is more of an issue in trunkbags. The test I have 42 years of cycling experience, mostly in the mountains of Tn., N.C., & Ga. where conditions can change considerably during the course of a day. First time out was 140 miles on an overcast day with the temp staying around 40 degrees on a sport touring bike 70mph. I stayed warm with only a sweatshirt under and the obvious recognition from other drivers due to the high viz was inspiring. Second trip was on dual-sport starting 40 degrees, climbing to 75 degrees and back down again. Warm when the temp was cool and nice venting with liners out when thing warmed up Installingremoving liners was not as difficult as I expected from other reviews, but could be easily modified if you find it a problem. A word to the wise I've also spent 37 years in Orthopedic Surgery and many of the unfortunate cyclists I,ve met along the way would certainly have faired better if they had been more visable and worn protective clothing. How much is your body worth.

In a word Best - K J Kelly   FL Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Best Quality, Best Features, Best Price
Cons: Pants too short... My fault I guess... Should have ordered taller size than what I would normally wear

Excellent.Fast delivery and packaged well.Best Quality, Best Features, Best Price.I feel much, much safer on the streets and highways now.

Excellent Jacket - GA Mtn Rider   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Nice Fit. Well made. Cool.Hi-Viz.
Cons: Collar a little stiff and placed so it can rub your neck. Could use a little more padding and soft fabric.

Was leary of ordering this jacket as it was an unknown brand to me and the price was low compared to competitors. Turns out this is a case where you don't get what you pay for- but more than you paid for. Seems very well made. Was impressed with air flow and fit of garment. It did not scrimp on length like a lot of tall offerings from other brands. Will definitely buy this brand again.

S.LA Summer Tested and Approved - furduknfish   LA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Kevlar, HD Zipper, stretch panels, CE pads, Excellent Ventilation, 34 Length
Cons: Long sleeves, Sleeve synch snaps, Bulkytight liners

Thats S. Louisiana... already flirting with the upper 90's and humidity way past that in June. Daily commute to Big Easy Quite Breezy. At nominal speeds, the mesh directs the wind in for a cool ride. The synch snaps ar BIG and tend to catch by backpack, minor annoyance resnapping but hard luggage is my next purchase. Why these arent fold-over velcro, I dont know I can be seen easily HI-VIZ from a great distance which is 12 the benefit. As noted, the sleeves are mutant long but they can be velcro'd down. I leave loose just for the extra airflow past gloves. The back protector is a foam pad but descrp says CE, dont think so. I am 5'10200lbs with a mod build and a mod beer belly late 30's, it happens and the large fits just right with liners removed. With both liners in its tight but workable. The liner attachments were a pain getting apart, as others noted. I probably wont be messing with the windwaterprf liner till late November, again S. LA. Quite happy for the price I paid on sale 150.

Great jacket for the bucks - Wayno J   WA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Visibility, great fit, amazing price, Kevlar protection
Cons: Heavy, tie-in loops small and flimsy

I've only had this jacket for a few days, but I've managed to test it in the warm 78 is warm in Seattle and the wet again, Seattle. So far, so great The ventilation is very good, even stopped at a light -- the mesh really does it's job. With the water-proof wind-proof liner installed, it kept me warm and dry -- actually a little too warm, as the temp was still 78, but no breeze gets thru that liner. Definitely wind-proof. The tiny loops that attach the liner to the jacket are the only real weak point of this system -- one of them has already torn loose after only two installations. And this jacket is HEAVY, as cjohnnyride pointed out, even without the liners. I was amazed that a jacket this heavy could still keep you as cool as it does. We winter in Arizona, where even January - March it can get into the 80's, and summers here in Seattle sometimes rarely see the 90's and 100's, so August will be the true test of coolness. For now, I give it 5 stars and highly recommend this jacket to anyone looking to save some bucks compared to buying Tourmaster or Olympia but not willing to compromise their safety and comfort.

Good Pair with All-Season Pants - Jacob Flig   SC Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: good fit, good price, comfortable
    Cons: [None]

I bought the jacket to use with the all-season 2 pants I bought. Overall the jacket is a good fit. It is a little slimmer in the torso, but the stretch panels give it adequate room to expand. The double main zipper is a must for a coat this length. Lots of reflective piping and good hi-viz orange color work well. a good choice for most standard and touring riders. I would probably not use it below 35 degrees.

Sliders - KLR650 Rider   CO Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Tall length, all weather functionality
Cons: Weight, arm cinch straps, zipper quality

This jacket was good for functionality and features, but somewhat disappointing for quality control. The insulating layer zipper lost a few teeth on my 4th ride. Yours may work better It remains functional, but a hassle to zip closed, and more teeth will inevitably rotate and pop off now. The arm cinch straps are good when in use, but the buttons are not the best for securing the straps. They come open often on rides, and are not the easiest to re-snap while riding. Slightly bulky and tight when all layers are together, but still does what it advertises, and is good for a variety of riding conditions. Colorado's western slope and different weather and temperature extremes over a few mountain passes were handled fine with a layerdelayering stop. I am overall satisfied for its price, but wish the snaps and zippers were stronger. -Safe riding

Awesome quality, but larger than I though - Gunther   FL Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Quality construction and materials
Cons: Too large for a short person

The jacket quality is amazing. It is heavy and sturdy but its just too damn large. I ordered a medium which in most jackets fit me alright. The medium felt like it was meant to be a large TALL. The sleaves are very long and wide. It didn't fit me right so I had to return it. However, if I was a larger person I'd say this jacket is amazing for the cost.

Jacket - Miken   FL Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Great price, great protection and comfortable feel with much style.
Cons: A little bulky for me though the protection it comes goes along with the added materials.

I really like the sliders 2 all season jacket and for the price was an excellent buy. It has all the comfort, style and the protection at all the right places. This jacket will keep you cool in the summer with the proforated mesh applied throughout the jacket.

Kevlar jacket - B. Patrick   MO Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Warm or cold weather
Cons: Check over good. Needed to return for stitching problems.

After second jacket arrived everything is golden

Kevlar Protection - Kutter   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Comfortable Protection, All Weather Versatility. High Visability
    Cons: Rain soaks outer layer.

This equipments protects you when its cold with its thermal layer and wind protection. When its hot leave off the inner layers and enjoy the outer mesh to leave a breeze to keep you cool. If its a bit cool for the breeze, just use the 2nd layer wind breaker to keep warm. What's nice, is to have the inner layers to keep you warm in the morning and put them in the saddle bags to stay cool when its hot in the afternoon. And it's reassuring to know that if you go down, pads will protect from broken bones and the kevlar will protect from road rash.

OK, not quite all season - Wayno J   WA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Great visibility and protection, good fit, good ventilation in all but the hottest weather.
Cons: Too heavy and bulky for hot weather

See my earlier review for starters. As I predicted, August would be the test, and it was -- failure Seattle saw the rare 90 degree weather that I predicted, and this jacket is just a little too heavy for that kind of heat. It's not bad when you're moving, but stopped at a light, it's murder. I ended up buying a Joe Rocket Velocity Mesh jacket for summer, and it's perfect -- light, tremendous air-flow, and short so it doesn't crumple and roll at your waist which is the worst thing about the All-Season 2 in the hot -- just too much material blocking air-flow. I still give this jacket a 4-star rating, but I can't really call it all season. So, I now have a Firstgear Kilimanjaro for winter, the All-Season 2 for springearly summerfall, and the Joe Rocket for summer -- not ideal, but it works.

Be cool, be seen, be protected - cjohnnyride   OH Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Kevlar, conspicuity, mesh, fit, comfort, versatility, styling
Cons: roughness at collar closure, line tie-in loops way too small

Since Sliders is a CompAcc house brand I couldn't find this jacket in a store and try it on so I was skeptical about the fit. The jacket arrived very quickly. The packaging was pretty lame. I also ordered a pair of the All Season 2 pants. The corrugated box the two items were packaged in was about 30 to tall for the contents and the top had caved in and was repaired with a lot of packaging tape. The contents, however, arrived undamaged. The jacket fit perfectly if a little snug with both liners installed. I'm 5' 8-12, 180lbs and selected a size Large. The sleeves are a little longer than they need to be for me, but the velcro cuffs can be used to keep them under control. Most of the extra length is taken up once the riding position is assumed. It's a 34 length jacket so it can be a little too much jacket in your lap when you're sitting but that's easily alleviated by the bottom zipper being pulled up a few inches, which is a really, really nice feature. The sleeve cuffs open up quite a bit to easily allow your hands in and out, even with gloves on. I tried on the Tourmaster Intake Air Series 2 mesh jacket and I was trapped by the cuffs of the two jacket inserts when trying to pull my up and out of the jacket sleeves. It turned the sleeve halfway inside out and was very problematic - and that was on two different sizes of jackets Who wants to have to struggle while trying to extricate themself from a jacket To my great relief, this was not the case with the Sliders All Season 2 jacket. My hands easily slid up and out effortlessly.Considering that this jacket is mesh I expected it to be much lighter than it is as it feels pretty heavy. After all, isn't most of it... air Of course, you do have to take into account the CE approved armor with additional overpads and the Kevlar. I have never weighed another jacket before and can't compare this jacket to others, but it is 5lbs, 2.8ozs without either liner. With both liners it weighs 7lbs, 1.2 ozs.The two chest pockets, as mentioned in the CompAcc video, are pretty small and it's difficult to get your hands in and out of them because the openings are so high and narrow. But they would be handy for those small items which you don't have to access frequently. A note about the other pockets. Other mesh jackets boast waterproof pockets. Because they're waterproof they are also windproof and will impede air flow to and from the body which, in my opinion, defeats the purpose of having a mesh jacket in the first place. The Sliders pockets are not waterproof and therefore allow air to flow freely through them. So you can stay cooler in warmer weather, but you should stow water sensitive items elsewhere to prevent them from getting wet in case of an unexpected shower. The waterproof liner has hand warmer style pockets so the liner can be worn as a jacket by itself. It's not terribly attractive or totally functional, but will work in a pinch. Unfortunately, the waterproof liner does not have interior pockets, which because the liner material is waterproof the pockets would also be waterproof. I guess those pockets would add to the bulk of the jacket, but the quilted liner DOES have interior pockets. Therefore, you have waterproof pockets only if you wear the quilted liner inside the waterproof liner, but if given a choice I'd prefer waterproof pockets over quilted pockets. Unlike the waterproof liner, the quilted liner cannot be worn alone as a stand-alone jacket.I first rode with this jacket using the waterproofwindproof liner as the day was on the cool side. The liner provided adequate protection, but it seemed like I could feel slight drafts inside the liner. That could have been air coming in from under the jacket or up the sleeves as I don't cinch them down all the way. The second time I wore the jacket it was much warmer so I wore it without any liner. I was involved in some strenuous activity before hopping on the bike and was sweating quite a bit. In fact, I didn't realize how much I was sweating until I put on the jacket and started riding. The evaporative cooling effect was really impressive I was wearing a 100 polyester wicking t-shirt and felt the coolness all over the shirt as the sweat was pulled away. I was concerned that my big windshield with over-sized custom lowers would block a lot of the airflow, but the cooling effect was felt over most of my chest and all up and down my arms. Pretty impressive. I was liking this jacket more and more. The color I choose was Hi-Vis Yellow. I had been riding with a jacket that matched my bike. Being red, white, and black it was quite colorful, but not really all that noticeable as it didn't stand out enough in traffic. I had been noticing other riders wearing Hi-Vis clothing from a really long way off and wanted to be that visible in traffic myself. The hi-Vis jacket is definitely bright and can easily be seen even in poor visibility and low-light conditions, but when the sun hits it It's like it's battery powered Now, I ride a cruiser and this style of jacket, let alone the color, does NOT fit into the cruiser style, but I made a conscious decision that I don't care nearly as much about how I look as I do about how I'm seen. I believe in function over form. I'm new to riding and all my new cruiser friends told me you gotta get a leather jacket, and you gotta get a pair of chaps So I did. And then I show up to a ride on a warm day and everyone but me is in blue jeans and tank tops. And THEY look at ME like I'M the dumb one. Aren't you gonna sweat a lot, they ask Aren't you gonna bleed a lot, I reply I want to look good, be seen, and be protected as well. Speaking of protection... This is the only affordable jacket that I could find that includes Kevlar in the impact areas. That's a huge plus and should be an important part of your decision making process on which jacket to wear. The fabric at the collar closure where the jacket zipper and the liners all come together is a little rough on my neck but it's not terribly bothersome. The most significant drawback about this jacket, which is relatively minor considering all it's great features, is the tiny, little elastic loops that you have to thread the great big tabs and snaps through to attach the liners into the jacket and into each other. The loops are inconsistent in size. Some are almost big enough to be easy to use, but most are just way too small. I'm serious when I say that using two needle nose pliers would make it easier to install the liners. It would also make it easier to remove the liners because the elastic loops are smaller even than the snaps and get caught between the snaps and the fabric and have to be stretched over the snaps to get them through. It's too bad that this jacket's awesome features are blemished by such a simple little lack of attention to detail. I'd return the jacket, but seriously doubt that another jacket would have all the loops big enough to be easy to use. The elastic will eventually fail and the loops will stretch, but I'm not waiting that long. I'm going to sew bigger loops in it myself.Other than that one flaw, everything else about this jacket is exactly what I want and need to be cool mesh, be seen Hi-Vis, and be protected Kevlar while riding.

Sliders allseason mesh jacket - howie77099   TX Recommended by Reviewer: No
    Pros: low price
Cons: does not fit well and sizing is off it is much smaller than size indicates.

I purchased this jacket on reputation and price and it was a mistake as the jacket does not fit well and is smaller than size indicated and the back protector pad is uncomfortable.
