When designing the Shoei RF-1100 Merciless Helmet, Shoei helmets improved on the RF-1000 helmet by adding a host of improvements to increase rider comfort and overall performance. The Shoei RF-1100 Merciless is the new Premium Sport and Sports touring helmet on the market.
For years the RF-1000 has been the bench mark for high end sport/touring helmets. But the design is now dated and needs some updates. For 2012 Shoei has remodeled the helmet with the new Shoei RF-1100 Merciless Helmet. They have apparently been listening to the consumer and have added a removable liner and increased the number of shell sizes to 5 total.

Love this helmet and the design scheme. Works well with my Ducati Monster. I bought the matte black and I'm glad I did. Looks incredible and I get complements on it all the time. Plenty of vents in the helmet to keep you cool and comfortable. The cheek pads are pretty thick so was pushing on my face when I first began wearing it. They have since compressed some making the helmet much more comfortable. I recommend a size bigger than you normally wear. New facial pads can be purchased if it is still too tight after the break-in period. Face shields are easy to add and remove. Design is aerodynamic enough that my head isn't bouncing around with wind changes. Helmet only seems heavy after a long day of riding. The visibility is incredible. I can pretty much use all of my peripherals while wearing the helmet. The helmet is a bit pricey but guess I could have saved a few bucks by getting less of a design scheme. Other than that, excellent helmet. I only wear Shoei as I feel they fit my head best and have a lot of features compared to more expensive models from other companies. Definitely recommend to others but not the same design I purchase go get your own design
