Awesome tire - Josh   MD Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Price, performance, quality
    Cons: None

I love the Shinko 009....ride is good, compound is great...nice and tacky broke in quickly.Havent had it out in the rain yet bet I am happy with the tread design. Would definately buy again

Shinko 009 - Dusty   NY Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Consistent and forgiving handling. Good wear.
    Cons: None

The Shinko 009 is more geared to the sport touring crowd than the hyper-sport rider. Due to their profile initial turn in is slower but they neither fall into a turn or try to stand back up like some pure sport tires. Keeping that in mind, these tires are very good. Their grip is the same wet or dry. If you have to change your line mid- corner or get on the binders due to misjudgment not an issue. I've used these tires on three different motorcycles, the current one being the rather heavy FJR 1300 and still get a solid 7000 miles out of a rear and generally the front will survive two rears. Most people overlook these tire because of their price or name and that's a shame.

First Impressions - Guinnessmeister   FL Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Good gripage - Cool looking
    Cons: None yet

Got a few hundred miles on the tire and so far so good. 1st time buyer of this brand and so far I can recommend as being a good tire for the value. Have not tried in rain yet but stick very well on dry surfaces when avoiding the Florida Blue Hairs I take evasive action from every day - Slainte

Great value tire so far - philellis123   CO Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: PRICE
    Cons: none yet

After reading many positive reviews, thought I'd try the Shinko Raven 009. I am coming off of a Michelin Pilot Road 2 rear tire, and so far have about 1,000 miles now I cannot tell any difference between the two, except for price...the Shinko was substantially cheaper. I got about 7,000 miles out of the PR2 rear tire, am hoping to get comparable mileage from the Shinko, time will tell. Incidently, I already had a Shinko Raven 009 on the front, and am replacing it with another Shinko Raven 009. I got 13,000 out of the front tire down to the wear bar indicators, and am changing this weekend. I ride a 2006 Yamaha FJR1300.

Great tires!! I commute 44 miles everyday, and I have put 2900 miles on these tires and honestly, they look like they still have 75-80 on them - NO JOKE!!! And no flat spot from commuting in mostly highway! They hold really well on the twisties, too. they really stick!! So, they are definitely good all around tires for commuting and aggressive street riding! Buy them, you won't be sorry!!

Good tire on my 2nd set - TK   GA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Great mileage,Low price, Good grip
Cons: Break in period seems to be more than 100 miles

This is a very affordable tire but it's has great traction if your more toward the sport touring end of the spectrum. I haven't gotten myself into a situation where I felt the tire wasn't up to par. This is the 2nd set I have ordered and I was able to get over 10,000 miles out of the 1st.

009 Tire - B. Ike   NC Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Great price.
    Cons: [None]

I ordered this tire based on previous reviews.I have yet to put it to the test but if it's as good as others have written,I'm sure I will not have any complaints.Only time will tell.

Raven 009 - RR JWood   Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Tread life, multiple weather conditions, PRICE, Grip
    Cons: Haven't found 1

Tread life got over 10,000 miles on my rear tire. still has a good 2,000 left. Only replacing becuase of a small hole causing a slow leak. Good in all types of weather rain, shine, hot or cold. Never had any gripping issue stayed on ground where I wanted it. PRICE no 1 can beat it.In my mind its a 5star tire but I haven't rode anything else.

    Bandit88
Despite the horriblle Korean name, I've had very good luck with Shinko 009's so far. I've used three sets on a sport- modified Bandit 1200. They are decently stable, last a helluva long time, and are damn CHEAP compoared to the larger name brands. The front has a relatively high profile which ROLLS IN somewhat quickly... a little disconcering at first until I got used to it. But I learned to trust them; they never let go or got skittish and remained stable when on the edges. Many of my friends prefer this charcteristic. The compound os a bit harder than pure sporting tires, which is great for me, as I do a lot of fast distance. This is a tire worth being burned-off on long Sport Touring trips; it will get the job done and you'll have money left afterwards to buy another set. I have a set of 005's that I haven't tried yet, because I still have a lot of life on the 009's.

Ok for long life - Applewins   MI Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
    Pros: Long Life
    Cons: Profile

Ok, not a bad tire and it does well in the rain, but the profile is really geared towards a flatter appearance and highway use. I'd say this tire best fits a touring bike and not a sport tourer. I have them installed on my B-King, and while the wear is doing really well, which is why I purchased them, they don't lend themselves to lean angle confidence. I have a Shinko 011's ready to be put on and that tire is definitely more in line with the Dunlop Q2's that I've used previously. If you were going on a long trip then the 009's might be a good choice.
