Made with durable, 1.2-1.4mm top grain leather, the Scorpion EXO Leather Recruit jacket has been built to last. When it comes to protection there's vented CE approved armor at the elbows & shoulders as well as a back protector compartment with an included PE foam pad and NightViz reflective trim on the back of the jacket for increased visibility. The Scorpion jacket has an adjustable, zippered ventilation system that includes two front vents, two rear vents plus the interior of the jacket is lined with a removable, fully-sleeved, 'EverHeat' thermal liner. Bonus features include two hand warmer pockets & one additional inner storage pocket for storage, as well as dual velcro waist adjustment straps that can change the fit according to your preference. Excellent Jacket! I originally ordered a Tourmaster Coaster, but immediately found the leather to be thin, and even with the liner in, i froze the first time I wore it. The Scorpion Recruit is much nicer, albeit at a higher cost. The quality of the leather, stitching, and detailing is top notch.
The leather is thick, and is very warm on cold weather rides. I've worn it a few times now, and the leather is very stiff, but I anticipate that it will break in nicely.
I normally wear a medium textile jacket, but based on the sizing chart, ordered a large and it fits perfectly. Have only worn it on morning and evening commutes so far, in mid 50 degree weather, so I can't speak to the ventilation, but it should be good.
