This helmet does what I bought it for. This helmet gets me seen. It is very bright It has nice airflow, and living in Arizona airflow is a must. I also go to work in the dark and leave with the sun shining, so the internal dark shade is great I do not have to carry an extra shield. The helmet does get a little noisy when the internal shield is down. It's Scorpion what more is there to say. They have great helmets, I have owned four, all have been mediums, and the fit is always dead on.

I own a Scorpion 400 & 1000 helmet before buying this one. The 500 is a big design improvement by incorporating the chimney into the mold shell. The helmet has excellent air flow with vents open or closed. Opening the top vents will dry your eyes out fast.Even with all vents closed, this is a noisy helmet. Since they incorporated the chimney into the mold design, you can't close it which is what I suspect the reason this is their noisiest helmet I've owned yet. However, I prefer that design as I've had the chimney fly off my Scorpion 400 helmet 2x.Overall I love it and find the fit is true to size despite others saying go one size bigger. Just took 2 - 3 weeks before it conformed to my head. I might actually go down a size if I bought another but I think I might look at their 1100 series next time.
