I used the bag on a week long trip. It worked perfectly. It fits neatly on top of the main bag. The snaps fit great and secure. River Road did a great job in designing the bag and the connecting straps, no loose ends or straps to worry about. It comes off together with the main bag and it seats on top of the main bag as I roll it along. I highly recommend it.

Hip: Measure around the fullest part of your seat while standing
Sleeve: Measure from the center of the back of the neck along the shoulder and down the outside of the arm. Jacket sleeves are made with slightly longer sleeve, no do not add any extra to your measurement.
Thigh: Measure around the biggest part of your thigh.
