Nice glove... - Tony IN

Pros: Not too bulky allows for good tactility warm so far
Cons: wish there was an extra wrist strap
Wore these gloves today for the first time. The only other cold weather gloves I've used are the River Road Cheyenne--so that's my point of referencecomparison. Both gloves offer 70G insulate, but the Boreal feels less bulky to me, so I felt like I had a better feel for the throttle and other controls. This is probably partly becauase the Boreals are nearly all textile with some leather trim and the Cheyennes are still mostly leather. It's probably also because the Cheyenne offers some protective armor on the front side. The Boreal has none of that. So, if you're looking for some armor or protection, the Boreal isn't for you. Rode in 40 degree temps between 0-45mphs for about 15-20 minutes around town and didn't feel any cold coming throught at all. Hands stayed nice and warm. Can't speak yet to temps below 40 or to wet weather, but so far I'm impressed with the warmth. Seem about comparable to the Cheyenne at 40 degrees. There doesn't seem to be any break-in period with these gloves. They're comfortable and broken in right out of the box again, probably because they're most textile. And, they're simple enough that you could use them off the bike, too, without looking like you've got moto gloves on. The gaunlet could be a little wider so that it could cinch down over a jacket cuff a little better. But I'm also wearing a leather jacket that doesn't have really tight cuffs. In fact, I close up the gauntlet tight and put the jacket sleeve over it. Works well that way, too though you get a little cold air going up the sleeve potentially. And with a true motorcycle jacket, I'm sure the gaunlet would cinch down over the cuff just fine.My only complain is that it doesn't have the extra wrist strap like the Cheyennes do. The Boreal has the velcro-cinch gauntlet, but not the additional velro strap at the wrist. I miss that because it doesn't feel like you can really tigthen down the Boreal this is especially a problem for me because I have a bit of extra room in the finger tips with the large, but the medium would be too small. I've worn a large with River Road with the Cheyenne and a pair of plain leather gloves and the large with the Boreal is again the right fit except for the bit of extra room in the fingers. The touch-tech is nice if you need it. Seems to work well enough.
