I purchased the carbon fiberblack pad and while I like it and am happy with it, I was going for a sort of toned down lookthinking it would blend in with the matte black paint more than it does. As far as something more minimal, I think the black racing one would probably be less noticeable or even a a clear protector or b a solid black one.

I have a Yellow CBR1000, so I purchased the yellow tank pad and must say that I'm dissapointed with the color. The picture shown shows a brilliant yellow but when I got it, it's a weak yellow, it almost looks like it got a good sun beating. The plastic seems to be good quality. Also the "Racing" lettering is not crisp, you can see large pixels when looking at it from close distance.
If you buy this don't expect the same brilliant colors that you see here.
