Best Helmet for the price - Rik Jon MN
Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Fits nice, great paint scheme, could not fog up, cool on the head, high quality
Cons: shield vibes at speed when 2 clicks up. not really a issue
I have the N104 Black-Silver Action Helmet, The runs today was gravel roads and highway . This morning it was 24 above zero, there is still snow in some ditches here. I installed the pinlock antifog shield, and tested it, it would not fog, even tried exhaling fast on it, still clear. The cooling vents on top work very well, I had to shut them. too cool for comfort. The front chin vents I could not feel, maybe your not suppose to. I don't know. This was done on gravel roads between 25 to 55mph. noise was low. excellent side vision. This test was done on my 2007 KLR650. Next test a little later when it warmed up to 50-65 degrees and sunny, When I lifted the visor to the first click, it shook a bit from the wind and I suppose that's from the shield is lightweight and thin, when the shield was all way down it was stable against helmet, no problems there. I tested with the chinbar in the up position at 75mph, wasn't bad, I expected it to tug back, very light pull. I don't normally ride that way, but thought I would test it anyway. The dark shield was a little harder to use with gloves on, couldn't feel the slide button easily, found that I just had to get used to the feel of the new helmet features, The dark shield is well suited to bright sun, I flipped the front clear shield up and rode with the dark one down. I liked the quick release feature of raising the dark shield better than my N103 feature this helmet is replacing. I was a little leary of ordering a helmet with just a tape measure of my head with some reviews stating they run small, My 103 was a large and fit great, this 104 I measured came to be a medium, it fits very well with no tight spots and didn't need any breaking in. Overall my opinion of the N104 is I should have not waited so long to buy it. My test was done in northwestern Minnesota, if you ride up here lookout for deer.

Great Full Face Helmet - Sue IL

Pros: Features, quality, modular, sleek
Cons: [None]
This is a great helmet It's my first full face helmet, so it's a little heavier than I'm used to, but still not too heavy. I chose it because it has a wider viewing area than other full faces, so peripheral vis is good. It is high quality and has nice features including upper and lower air vents, locking modular, fog resistant wind screen, etc. Also, I wear an extra small, so was pleased that the smaller size helmets actually have a smaller shell, whereas many other helmets just fill the XL large shell with more padding making a small frame person look and feel like a bobble head So, it's more proportioned with a better fit and feel. Love the N104 Action - Ron T SC
Overall a great helmet. Much lighter than the previous 103. Plus the B4 kit is super easy to install.
Quality helmet with some flaws - Mike VA

Pros: Quality workmanship, love the chinstrap
Cons: Still tight in the jaw, lkmited face shield positions
I have been wearing Nolan helmets for over 12 years. It may seem like a minor point, but I hate D-rings, and Nolan is the company that makes a functional alternative with it ratcheting chinstrap. The first thing I noticed is that with the new shape, I needed to move up to a size from a Large to an XL. Even the XL is pretty tight in the jaw area, although I know from experience it should loosen up a bit as the helmet breaks in. So far, the one thing that really bothers me is the face shield positions. With previous models, I could crack open the face shield maybe 18 of an inch. But the first position on the N104 is a gaping 1-inch plus gap. It remains to be seen if I can live with that, especially on frigid January and February mornings commuting to work. The one feature I'm looking forward to testing is the top face shield seal. All of the Nolan models I've owned so far leak like a sieve. The N104 is supposed to be much better. We'll see.
OK, but don't assume you will get headset - Bruce

Pros: Fit, sun shade
Cons: Fit, noise, headset
I purchased this from the store's web site after fitting it at a store. On the first ride, I found the pressure on the sides of my face to be a little much, but was remedied by removing one layer of foam in the ear pieces. It is not as noisy as my older helmet but for the price I would expect less noise. Really like how the sun shade is on the inside of the clear plexiglass face shield, keeps things from being scratched or getting dirty. The biggest negative is that it is impossible to get a headset designed for the N104 that connects the the Goldwing's communication system. One can get the Bluetooth one for customer install, but the non-Bluetooth one is factory installed only and EXPENSIVE. So, if you are a rider that wants to hook into you Honda or Harley communications system, go elsewhere
