MCN did a review on this tool and stated that you would probably need to use some lube. That is somewhat true. However and this is important to the results I obtained, do not put it anywhere but the edge of the inner rim and tire because should it get on the side wall where the tool is doing the leverage, it will slide out and you will have to hold it best you can not to back out. I did two tires with these and couldn't be happier with it and feel confident that they will work just as well on the road should it be necessary.
