Pros: lots of air flow
Cons: still thinking.......
This is the best summer riding jacket I have purchased. It is light wait with great options for fit. The liner comes out easy and fast. Fantastic jacket. Worth every penny.
Very happy with this jacket - McGee CO

Pros: Good fit, Armor well placed, Good value for price
Cons: Zippers a little troublesome
Overall, I'm very happy with the Phoenx 5.0 Jacket. The sizing and fit works well for me - I'm 5 foot 10, 190 lbs and normally wear a 42 or 43 regular sportcoat. The size M fits well either withwithout the liner. Size L was very comfortable, but since I am using this only as a warm weather jacket, I didn't want the extra room when only wearing a base layer. The armor also is positioned better for me with the size M. This jacket is very comfortable while riding - no areas of binding or discomfort. The color hi-viz yellow is very noticeable, which is what I wnted. My only gripe is that the 2-zipper system is a little grabby - either against the adjacent fabric or the inner liner. Perhaps this will improve as it breaks in more. This is not really anything to prevent me from buying again, but can be a little bothersome when trying to quickly gear up to go ride. I will vouch firsthand to the overall safety of the Joe Rocket jackets in a fall - the armor and abrasion reinforcement is placed well and works without compromise. There are many other brands of similar quality out there, but the Joe Rocket gear does offer a pretty good value between features, fit, and price.

Great product. Big holes in the jacket for maximum air flow. I love this jacket.
Joe Rocket Phoenix 5.0 Jacket - Rod NJ
Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Solid Construction, all seams were aligned & tight,. The fit is true to size. The removeable liner is great for medium cold days and when removed it works great for the rest of the year. It's a great all round 3 season jacket.
Cons: None so far.
I've been riding in this jacket for about 4 months and I love it.
2.0 vs 5.0 - DWolvin CA

Pros: Still a great jacket overall
Cons: but they have cheapened the quality of some details
I picked up the neon yellow jacket so I could get on base without a separate reflective vest. Compared to the 2.0 jacket I have used for years the liner is not quite as nice, and the fit is still large in the shoulder area and narrow waisted. All in all still one of the best hot weather jackets, but note that the internal sunglass pocket is no longer waterproof, and there is no provision for running headphone cables out.
Great Jacket, good for athletic builds - jKsled WI

Pros: Excellent warm weather jacket
Cons: not much
Just received the jacket 1hr ago. Couldn't wait to go for a ride so I tested it out.Fit is great. I am 225, 6'5, athletic build, and I have had a heck of a time finding a jacket that fits. That is why I want to say this, for other people who have struggled like me. I ordered an XL Tall of this jacket due to other reviewers saying the jacket sizing is true. The fit is spot on for me. I would be cautious if you have a case rather than a six pack of beers down on the 'ole gut, the waistline will be a tight fit. Otherwise, the fit is great.Armor seems great, and very comfy. Its about 60 degrees here and I was just starting to get warm with the liner on. It is a very waterproof liner, so it won't let any sweat escape. That is the only problem I can foresee, if it is raining and warm out, your going to get wet either from sweat or rain. Otherwise, the jacket is great, and the mesh will be perfect for those warm summer days. It lets tons of air through and I quickly got so cold I had to throw the liner back in 60 degree day. The zippers all seem to be very good quality, as does the stitching.

The Joe rocket phoenix jacket is very comfortable works perfect with the pants and gloves for these hot summer temps. The liner in the phoenix jacket allows me to use it in the spring and fall because it blocks the wind from hitting my skin.. However once it gets cold it is time for my sliders kevlar quest jacket

Very comfortable and good-looking jacket. Adjustments allow for great fit too. Not sure how the material compares to that of other mesh jackets, as far as crash rating, but the armor seems sufficient for this type of jacket. Highly recommend for summer riding.

I asked a dealership mechanic about what mesh jacket he'd recommend. He didn't even hesitate: "Joe Rocket Phoenix." The fact the dealership didn't sell them makes the suggestion all the more amazing. Bottom line: he was right. I've been wearing this thing daily through two summers, and it's still doing a great job, and looking good doing it. Good fit, good comfort, good protection, and the waterproof liner makes it extremely flexible the water slides right off -- into your lap, so be aware of the puddle factor. It's not machine washable, but show me an item of motorcycle apparel that doesn't require dry cleaning. In short, I love this jacket so much that when people ask what they should buy, I don't even hesitate: "Joe Rocket Phoenix."
Good buy - Kj LA

Pros: Air flow accurate sizing
Cons: Liner not breathable
Summer temps haven't kicked in yet, but air flow, quality and sizing are all spot on. The liner does not breathe, so I won't be using it for anything short of a downpour. Jacket was purchased for S. Louisiana summers so I don't plan on using the liner anyway.

The comfort of the mesh is excellent. I ride behind a pretty large faring and things can get warm. The jacket provides a very acceptable level of airflow. In this respect, the jacket get 4 or 5 stars.
Now the downside: I am 160 lbs, 34" waist, 5-10"...pretty average guy. I order a large and the torso of the jacket was an excellent fit. The problem was that the shoulders were MUCH too wide resulting in the shoulder armor ending up entirely off my shoulder, down around mid-arm which is totally worthless. I was fortunate enough to have a friend that is a seamstress that altered the jacket - and the pouch that the armor is in - so that the jacket fits through the shoulders. I don't know the answer in as much as a medium would fit too tightly in the torso.
