I HAVE USED PINLOCK EXCLUSIVELY FOR THE LAST COUPLE YEARS IN THE WINTER IT WORKS REALLY REALLY WELL AT REDUCING FOG TALK ABOUT SOME OF THE VENTILATION FEATURES LIKE I SAID IT DOES HAVE ADVANCED CHANNELING VENTILATION THERE ARE SOME NICE SLIDER PIECES ON THE VENTS THAT ALLOW YOU TO FEEL IF THEY ARE OPEN OR CLOSED WHEN YOUR RIDING YOU CAN OPEN THAT UP THATS ACTUALLY GOING TO DIRECT AIR RIGHT OUT HERE KIND OF LIKE A DEFROSTER ON YOUR CAR THATS GOING TO PUSH AIR UP HERE ON TO THE FACE SHIELD THAT WILL HELP REDUCE FOG THE TOP HERE YOU HAVE A RAM AIR INTAKE SCOOP HAS A SMALL SWITCH ON IT IF YOU OPEN IT UP AIR IS GOING TO BE FORCED DOWN INSIDE THE HELMET AND AS YOU RIDE A AREA OF LOW PRESSURE IS CREATED BEHIND THE HELMET THATS GOING TO DRAW WARM AIR RIGHT OUT THE BACK THERE AT THAT LITTLE REAR SPOILER ON THE BACK THERE ARE SOME ALWAYS OPEN EXHAUST VENTS ON THE BACK OF THE HELMET HERE AS WELL AND ALSO ON THE SIDE OF THE CHIN BAR HERE SO AGAIN AS YOU RIDE ITS GOING TO PULL AIR THROUGH THE HELMET FOR YOU SO ITS GOING TO HELP KEEP YOU COMFORTABLE. AS FAR AS CHANGING THE SHIELD OUT IT USES THEIR RAPID FIRE SYSTEM YOU WILL SEE THERE IS A SHIELD LOCKING MECHANISM ON THE SIDE YOU CAN FLIP THAT SWITCH AND THAT ACTUALLY PREVENTS THE SHIELD FROM OPENING I FOUND THAT THAT IT CAN HELP KEEP THE SHIELD CLOSED AND LITTLE PEACE OF MIND IF YOU DID GO DOWN SOMETIMES SHIELDS CAN POP OFF THATS JUST ONE MORE THING TO HELP HOLD IT DOWN AND THEN THE OTHER THING IS IF YOUR RIDING AT HIGH SPEEDS SAY IF YOU DID TAKE THIS TO THE TRACK WHICH IT IS SNELL 2010 CERTIFIED SO YOU COULD DO THAT ITS GOING TO HELP HOLD THE SHIELD DOWN IF YOUR DOING ANY HEAD CHECKS OR TURNING YOUR HEAD AT HIGH SPEEDS THE SHIELDS NOT GOING TO SUCK OPEN ON YOU. I WANTED TO POINT OUT THE GASKET THEY USE IT GOES ALL THE WAY AROUND HERE BUT AT THE TOP OF THE SHIELD HERE IT HAS A NICE LITTLE FLAP WHICH HELPS GIVE YOU A REALLY POSITIVE SEAL WHEN YOU CLOSE THE SHIELD UP ITS GOING TO SEAL UP REALLY WELL AROUND THE FACE SHIELD THERE TO HELP PREVENT WIND NOISE AND ALSO PREVENT WATER FROM RUNNING DOWN INSIDE THE HELMET TO SWITCH OUT THE SHIELD YOU HAVE A TRIGGER ON EITHER SIDE YOU WILL SEE IF YOU PULL THAT BACK IT POPS RIGHT OUT SO VERY VERY EASY TO SWITCH THE SHIELDS OUT THEN YOU JUST LINE IT BACK UP AND CLICK IT DOWN INTO PLACE AND ITS SECURE AND READY TO GO SO VERY EASY SHIELD CHANGES AS WELL. ON THE INSIDE OF THIS HELMET YOU HAVE A SILVER COOL INTERIOR THATS A MOISTURE WICKING FABRIC ITS REALLY SOFT TO THE TOUCH VERY COMFORTABLE AND YOU CAN ACTUALLY REMOVE THE WHOLE THING COUPLE SNAPS AND THIS TAB WITH VELCRO PULLS RIGHT OUT ITS CONTOUR CHEEK PAD ITS GOING TO ABSORB ANY MOISTURE IF YOUR SWEATING AT ALL AND EVAPORATE IT AWAY KEEP YOU COMFORTABLE AND THEN YOU CAN ACTUALLY REMOVE THE CROWN LINER AS WELL. COUPLE SNAPS AROUND THE BACK AND THEN SOME TABS AROUND THE FRONT TO PULL THAT OUT AND I DID WANT TO POINT OUT THAT THEY DO GIVE YOU SOME OPENINGS AND SOME MESH ON TOP TO ALLOW THAT VENTILATION SYSTEM TO ACTUALLY REACH YOUR SKIN. AND IF YOU LOOK AT THE INSIDE OF THE HELMET HERE THATS ACTUALLY EPS FOAM LINER AND EPS FOAM IS ACTUALLY WHAT MANAGES IMPACT. SO WHEN YOU HIT THE GROUND THE SHELLS GOING TO SPREAD THE IMPACT OVER A LARGER AREA AND THEN THAT FOAM LINER ON THE INSIDE IS WHAT ACTUALLY SLOWS YOUR HEAD DOWN AT A RATE THAT ISNT GOING TO GIVE YOU A BRAIN INJURY. INSIDE OF THAT LINER ARE AIR CHANNELS YOU WILL SEE THAT ADVANCED CHANNELING SYSTEM VENTS ARE ACTUALLY GOING TO BE ABLE TO DIRECT AIR THROUGHOUT THE TOP OF THE HELMET AND THEN THERE ARE A COUPLE OF HOLES IN THE BACK FOR WARM AIR TO GET OUT YOU SEE THE SNELL 2010 STICKER THERE SO IT IS SNELL CERTIFIED HELMET AS WELL AS DOT YOU CAN CHECK THESE OUT ON OUR WEBSITE AT COMPETITIONACCESSORIES.COM AGAIN A LOT OF BANG FOR THE BUCK ON THE CL-16 CHECK IT OUT ON OUR WEBSITE THERE IS A BUNCH OF DIFFERENT COLORS AND GRAPHICS AVAILABLE AND THEY ARE ALWAYS CHANGING THEM UP SO YOU CAN JUMP ON THERE AND SEE WHAT THE CURRENT ONES ARE. Hey guys this is Reuben at Competition Accessories and this is the all new HJC CS-R2 helmet. This replaces the HJC CS-R1, its a polycarbonate shell helmet. They have molded into a very aerodynamic shape. HJC wind tunnel testing in house and they have used that to perfect how this helmet flows through the air. As your riding you can see it has a sculpted rear spoiler built in the shell, which is going to keep this helmet very stable at speeds and prevent from any buffeting. As far as ventilation goes on this helmet you have a chin bar vent that open and closes at the front, air scoop at the top with a slider switch that is very easy to operate with gloves on. At the rear you have some always open vents that has the steel mesh that gives it a really nice look and it draws warm air right out the back of the helmet while your riding. This helmet is right around 100 dollars, you get a lot of helmet for the money. If you need an entry level helmet this is definitely a good option. One of the great things about it is it comes with the HJ-09 face shield and thats the face shield HJC uses on a lot of their higher end helmets. Its going to block 95% of UV's and it has an anti-scratch coating on it. It actually has a shield locking mechanism so if you push this down its going to actually lock the shield down in place so it cant come open on you. It does have a detente so if you want to open it partially you can do that. To change the shield out is very simple there is basically triggers on each side and it pops right off. Thats very easy to take off and replace. There is a very good selection of shields that are available for this helmet. To reinstall the shield there is an arrow and you line that up and it pops right back into place. Another thing that HJC has done with this helmet is they have given you a fully removable liner. Basically there is going to be a few snaps in the cheek pads, those are going to come right out. Its lined with a material called Nylex. Its fairly nice for the money it is a good soft fit. Its not going to be moisture wicking. To remove the crown liner two snaps at the back and then a pull around the front and that comes right out. You will see they have used mesh along the sides to allow that ventilation to reach your skin. If you look at the inside of the helmet you can see there is some channeling for that ventilation. That is the HJC CS-R2, brand new helmet from them. I think it has a nice shape, its comfortable, and definitely a good entry level helmet. You can check these out online at Competition Accessories.
