4 out of 5 start - there is always room for improvement but it is hard to see how this shield could be improved.I Purchased this on 10-05-2011 for a Kymco Grand Vista 250cc scooter that I bought on used on Craigslist. I have owned motorcycles over the last 20 years and this was my first scooter. Shield fit great and was easy to install. Brackets give the shield great support. I experienced no problems over the past year and 6000 miles until I hit sand last week left by the city at a corner on my street in San Diego normally there is never any sand anywhere. The right front brake lever snapped off and caught the edge of the shield and cracked it in half. So I'm back for another shield. This shield gives maximum wind protection - eliminates noise and wind buffeting and keeps the wind off your hands gloves but it DOES cut into your power top speed and mpg. I estimate that I went from 63 mpg to 58 mpg on average. In san diego you are forced ride at 67 to 70 mph actual, not indicated. Indicated with speedometer error I cruise at 75 mph.On a motorcycle this is a non issue but with scooters you need all the power and speed you can get especially on the highway. This time around I might order the same shield but go 2 inches lower.In conclusion - great shield, easy install, great fit and finish, no cracking even when ridden to almost 80 mph. Expect a possible 15 cut in power and 8 in top speed. Don't hesitate.
