Aside from the obvious visual effect of being seen from 1000 yards away, this gear will keep you bone dry in the worst downpour. Recommended for those of us who do not let the weather dictate whether we ride. Not recommended to be worn over Firstgear Textile Jackets and overpants, because those products have a waterproof/breathable exterior. Use over Mesh or any other Non-Waterproof Product.

Note: from Firstgear.. The "heat resistant" panel that we have on most of our pants is basically an extra layer of material meant to notify the rider of warmth so as to keep them from getting burned, but it is not fire retardant or heat proof.

It only took one 15 minute ride to learn that these pants are not suitable as motorcycle gear. They are made of what's supposed to be some form of semi-permiable fabric. This type of fabric has its applications, but the problem is that if the wet material is held against your absorbent clothing by, say, a 60 mph wind, then the water wicks right through. Try putting on your gore-tex rainsuit and then sitting on a wet surface. After said 15 minute ride my legs were wet from the tops of my knees to my ankles. Also they claim that there are heat resistant panels on the lower inside portion of each leg. It only took 3 seconds parking my FXDB to turn the right panel into a melted black smudge on the exhaust.
