The new Kilimanjaro features a more custom fit, with a lighter shell that is more comfortable for distance riders. The 2012 Kilimanjaro also features d3O intelligent armor for the shoulders and elbows, which is thin and flexible but hardens on impact. When warm, direct fresh air to the body using two 6” shoulder vents, two 9” pit vents and two 9-1/2” back exhaust vents–shoulder vents can be held open by folding the cover inward to hook and loop closure
Main closure held in place by a 2-way #8 YKK® Vislon zipper, shielded from the elements by a double storm flap with rain gutter and secured using spring snaps. Inside the placket for easy access is a security pocket with a red slider for increased visibility
Collar closure utilizes a slider snap that allows up to 1-1/2” adjustment for a personal fit
Integrated on the front chest are two cargo storage pockets to secure your stuff, protected from moisture by #5 YKK® rubberized zippers
More 2 storage in the two lower front cargo pockets–seam sealed pocket bags and an envelope opening, closure uses hook-and-loop plus, there are two front side pockets protected by #5 YKK® rubberized zippers
Compression straps on the bicep and forearm adjusts to fit you
Integrated into the collar is an under-the-helmet rain hood to keep water from running down your neck

Interior pocketing in all Firstgear jackets are in the same location, whether the liner is in or out. On the left side, chest high is a mobile device pocket with flap closure using hook and loop to secure. On the right side is a cargo pocket that is 12” wide and 8” tall to hold whatever you need for the adventure ahead

I bought this jacket for protection and as an insurance policy against all the idiots out there that don't see riders. I can assure you, people see me coming in the Day-glo Kilimanjaro. You can definitely tell that folks notice you provided their head isn't down in 'praying' position while they're texting and driving. Plenty warm with the liner in and the vents closed good cooling air flow when the vents are open and the liner out. Tons of pocket room as well, so you'll always have a place for your wallet, cell phone, etc. Excellent quality construction. Looking forward to geting lots of miles out of this one. Highly recommended....

Best built jacket I've ever worn. The materials, stitching and design are bomber. Keeps wind and water out even at very high speed. Exceeds expectations. The one drawback: The front pockets are way overdone. A simple snap or zipper would do. No one wants to rip apart 3 layers of noisy velcro sandwich just to get a pen. Then have to put it all back together with gloves on. Just keep it simple. But overall, a very good jacket for hostile environments.
