Great Pants for - KLR 650 Rider
Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Quality of material. Cost.
Cons: Fit, feel.
I bought these on clearance because, well yes, I am a cheap-skate, but wanted protection. The material seems high quality, tough balistic nylon in all the right places, etc. When you walk in these, they feel funny because when I adjust the knee pads to be in the right place while riding, then they fall low on my knee while walking I am assuming all knee pads to this, but it feels weird. I bought them for riding, so it is no big deal that they feel funny when walking. The other issue is the waist- it feels bigger than it should... BUT it has a fat short zipper in the back that happened to match the fat short zipper on the back of my jacket. GREAT. I don't think you could buy better protective pants, but they could fit a lil better. Because it was such a great buy on closout, I gave it a 5 star.
What a deal, fit is weird as described - CaseyOD FL

Pros: Bang for the buck, features
Cons: Weird fit
Good materials. Well constructed. Very weird fit. I got these to use in the summer, hoping that I could wear them over shorts. The liner says that it's good for weather will probably never be used. The materials are very good. The stitching is good. For a pant with mesh it has a decent amount of protection. I feel a little safer with these than just plain blue jeans. The fit is the weirdest thing though. These pants are very short in the seat. As in the distance from the crotch to the waist. Then the waist is very wide. So much so that I almost didn't have enough side adjustment to make them fit, and even when I did get them tightened they fit more like hip huggers. Very odd. The inseams are true to size. The thighs are, as described, tight. With the liner in I can wear them as pants, but definitely not over anything. I'm glad I got a size up. So these mostly fit and for the money I'm happy with the purchase. Hopefully they'll break in and fit a little better over time.
Shadow Scorcher Mesh Pants - flitecontrol

Pros: Inexpensive, have hip pads and adjustable knee armor
Cons: Poor fit, don't breathe well
I'm six feet, 180 pounds 36 inch waist. I ordered these a couple of sizes large to use them as warm weather overpants. They were very large in the waist but tight in the thighs. They weren't nearly as cool as my Icon Timax pants. When I added the cool weather liner, I couldn't pull them on over jeans they were too tight in the thighs. The side zipper stops below the knee so the pant's can't be put on or taken off with boots on.The seller is now advertising Famous Maker mesh pants on closeout for a fraction of what these pants cost. They are selling them cheap because of fit in the thigh area. The closeouts appear to be the Shadow Scorcher 2 Mesh Pants. If you have small thighs, these may work for you.
