Information and Details about the Dunlop Sportmax Q2 Motorcycle Tires - Z-Rated - Rear
made by Dunlop
  • The new Q2 incorporates race-tested advancements that add up to a vastly superior tire equally at home on the street or the track.
  • Intuitive Response Profile (IRP) technology in the rear tire intuitively allows the rider greater latitude in line choice while cornering and provides amazingly linear steering no matter what shape, speed or camber the corner, and at all lean angles
  • Radical new profile puts down a bigger footprint at extreme lean angles while also allowing greater lean angles and higher corner speeds to provide substantially better grip and handling
  • Dunlop’s advanced Multi-Tread technology combines the benefits of a tough, long-wearing center compound for increased mileage with a special lateral-grip compound on each shoulder for superior cornering traction
  • New carcass construction in both the front and rear tires includes newly designed continuous hex beads that are both lighter and stronger to enhance steering response in the front tire and increase cornering stability in both tires
  • Q2 rear tire features a newly developed, stiffer version of Dunlop’s Jointless Band (JLB) construction that utilizes a continuously wound aramid belt for reduced carcass distortion, plus stiffer overall construction to meet high-performance demands and provide a more consistent contact patch

Dunlop Q2s - Team Lean   MI Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: great tire great price for the quality
    Cons: none

I've had these tires for 2 months and I still haven't felt any slip nor skipping while in my turns. Truly their worth the money. Imma try the Q3s next. Safe and fun riding.

Stick it - 06 Honda VFR800   CA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Grabs the pavement, smoother ride, confidence in deep turns
    Cons: None yet

If you're an upright hwy commuter, those dual compound tires are fine. But for street gripping, deep turns, smoother ride and more confidence, along with better stopping power, you need sticky tires. I had a set of those Michelin dual compound tires and experienced rear tire slide when leaning deep and lousy stopping performance. I worried when leaning in a turn. These Q2 Sportmax tires brought all the confidence back so i can focus on the ride and not worry about 2 tires giving out on me when i need them most.

Great Tires - TinyTiger   CA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: The tires have a lot of grip right from when you start riding.
    Cons: Nothing so far.

These tires really inspire a lot of confidence even when you start off cold. I have a 2009 Buell XB9SX and have put a few hundred miles on the tires recently. You can lean into the corners knowing the tires will stick and give great feedback when you are pushing them.

ill never own anything else - m18pilot   NC Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: long lasting, price, sticky, great for in town and back country roads
    Cons: none that I've found

I'm on my third set of Q2s for my 2010 R1. Their shape is the best part it really helps you corner by putting more tire on the ground in the twistys. Really inspires confidence. The front will last about 6-7k and the back will last about 3k miles. Ive had mine up past 180mph and they handle the speed very well. Great grip in hard braking as well. Ive had them in the rain many times and of course youve gotta slow it down when its wet but they still always feel very solid and connected to the road. Ive taken them around curves and hit small gravel patches before and they are very forgiving. They always find the traction just like good tires should.

Best street tires - Luciano   TX Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Good grip, fantastic profile make bike handle very well
    Cons: none

These tires are among the best or are actually the best and they are not expensive as other brand. My 09 suzuki750 is handling really well now, after new shoes.

Fast shippingQ2 rocks - slowestrider   CA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes

Great tires, excellent feeds back. Tires shipped in box and arrived earlier than estimate expected.

Dunlop Q2 tire package - Nater-Bater   GA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Grippy even on wet streets
    Cons: They are expensive

Don't skimp on tires or brakes, it does not matter how fast it will go if you can't grip the road or stop on a dime These guys have the best price on Q2s trust me I researched the piss out of it and hands down they have the best price on tires by about 50.00. My tires arrived at my front door in two days Great price, fast delivery, this is the hook up on tires

Phenomenal tire - SkyDork   FL Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Sticks like glue, handles great, good price
    Cons: Mileage

I've been using these tires on the street and a couple of trackdays on my ZX-10R. They are simply awesome Very confidence inspiring and can handle just about anything you can throw their way. The trade off for all that grip is the mileage. I get about 2,500 miles of hard street riding before the tire is at the wear bars and it gets replaced. Small price though for the insurance of having these between me and the pavement. Definitely a great tire

    Pros: soft....grips....
    Cons: none

    good quality...competitive tire

Track day tires that work on the street - Petethepup   VA Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: Price, quality, work on track
Cons: None that I know of

I bought the Q2s for track day on a BMW K1200R, so a heavy bike, 140 rear wheel HP. I don't use tire warmers, but they came up to temp in a lap or 2. No surprises in turns, especially under power exiting turns. On the street, they make for light steering. I don't expect great life, so no disappointment there. They were easy to mount, using a No-Mar tire changer. That is, the carcass is not too heavy & stiff, but they're not too weak, in contrast to the now gone thankfully Pilot Pure Powers.
