The G9 is the evolution of the G4 from Scala rider, it can pair with up to 8 other Scala Rider headsets and toggle between them. You program the names of your riding partners into the headset and when you want to talk to them you speak their name and will connect to them instantly for a full duplex intercom conversation. Also, the flash pairing technology makes it simpler than ever to pair two units together: touching two units together pairs them, instead of frustrating key sequences. The G9 will pair with all the previous versions of Scala Rider headsets, so you do not need to wait for your friends to upgrade.

G9 is a good deal - ryan SC
Recommended by Reviewer: Yes
Pros: versatile, good features
Cons: [None]
I would suggest helmet pads for the inside of the strap on half helmets, this makes speaker placement and comfort a lot better.. I am using the G9 on a half helmet and the length of the boom mike is no problem whatsoever. Installation was easy and rather painless
Great Units - Broderick SC

Pros: easy to use, great range
Cons: pricey
One thing the Cardo Rep said didn't sink in until later in the day. You MUST install the speakers so that they are touching your ears. I scrounged some soft foam and placed it behind the speakers to move them closer to my ears. Rich, full, dynamic stereo resulted iPhone link and FM radio work as described. Buttons take some getting used to, especially with thick gloves. No chance to test rider-rider intercom yet. I recommend this unit only if you can install the speakers so that they are right up tight to your ears. Chose the Cardo G9 over others based on reviews and other research
G9 a Go - Mike H CO

Pros: Works
Cons: Too many buttons
The cons are too many buttons but the plus is all these buttons do something. Sorta like a Brownie Camera vs. a new Digital SLR camera. I'm a newbie to helmet bluetooth headsets so its a steep learning curve as in the set up. I have discovered that the bluetooth between my Garmin GPS 665 with its XM radio interfer with the XM antenna such that with the antenna mounted next to the GPS that I can't lock onto the radio signal. Not the G9s fault. I relocated the antenna to the dash of my Harley Road Glide. Then I haven't figured out why the intercomm between the paired headsets now doesn't work with the bluetooth turned on from the GPSXMradio. Maybe you can only do one and not both at the same time. Call me in the learning curve. Oh, and since I wear earplugs to save what little 68 year old hearing I have left, the volume of the G9 isn't really high enough.....
