The all-new Bell RS-1 bridges the gap between the top-of-the-line Bell Star and the value-minded Vortex with an amazing blend of mid-line price and performance. Pros: Comfort, quality, ventilation, Transitions shield
Cons: excessive air on face in cold
Coming from a Shoei RF-1000 and a X-Eleven, I am still impressed with the RS-1 and choose it over the Shoei's. It's a very high quality helmet, with superior action for the vent covers and shield. Shield notches are better as well, and the Transitions shield is worth every penny.I even crash tested one this year, and bought another. I used the X-Eleven before my RS-1 arrived, and really missed the airflow.The only possible downside is there is a lot of air over the face, even sealed up, and in the cold it can be a bit much. I haven't tried the chin skirt, but I expect that to help greatly.
