Freaking Awesome Tire - KAPOW #2 CO

Pros: Price, handling, next day arrival, smooth like buttah
Cons: Com acc won't bundle the BMW LT's tires
Had the tires shipped to a Colorado Springs shop, they arrived the next day Avon is a UK company with a distribution center in Denver Wow I expected a week, not a dayThat being said, needed no weights on the front and very little on the rear. These things are great to drive on, easier to me than metzler tires. The Avon tires are a bit more pointed for more aggressive turns, perhaps that is why they do so well in the rain. Anyhooo, I ride with 42 lbs on both front and back and I'll report back on tire wearlongevity in a few months of winter driving. Only having 3 tires to chose from suxs... metzler, brigestone and Avon for my 2002 BMW 1200LT suxs but having Avon as a choice- I am the most thrilled about. They are in my back yard
I commute 190 miles daily on a 2008 BMW K1200GT with luggage. Road surfaces vary from trwo lane chip and seal through rural rolling hils and curves to multi lane asphalt and concrete urban/interstate highways. First bought these tires to ride from Ohio to Anchorage Alaska in August of 2010. Rode 5 days in rain through Canada with no problem. Have high confidence in handling in both wet and dry conditions, under heavy load, and at sustained high speeds. Metzler Z6 lasts 4500-4700 miles, Bridgestone BattleAX BT023 4200 miles, Michelin Pilot Road 2 "B" compound has given about 6500 miles so far and expect to last another couple of weeks. Two sets of Avon Storm 2 Ultra have given 9500 and 9950 miles. Don't handle quite as good as the PR2's when worn, but better than all the others, and just as good when new. I'm ordering my third set today. Looking forward to comparing with the Pilot Road 3 when the "B" compound rear becomes available.

Pros: Very cool tread pattern
I have had two 18055-17 Avon Storm Ultra 2's on my 2004 FJR 1300 that gave me great service and performance. The third Avon tire that had 1,100 miles had a ply separation on Thanksgiving day while traveling and stranded me in central FL. The bad Avon tire is on its way back to Avon USA for warranty consideration and has to go through the selling dealer, distributor, and then Avon USA in Ohio I think On Black Friday I was able to find a bike dealer to mount and install a new Michelin Pilot road II. I think my Avon loyalty is over. I like the new Michelin
