This is a great product for the price. My only complaint was that I do not own an Alpinestars jacket and could not find dimensions L x W anywhere for the protector, so I wasn't sure it would fit into my AVG jacket. Someone else posted they had to trim theirs, so I took the risk I could do the same. When I received the protector it in indeed did NOT fit my jacket. But I used some metal snips and a little sand paper to smooth out the edges.. and presto Fit just fine. Once in the jacket I don't even feel it. So... well worth the money
Alpinestars back protector upgrade - JC in NC NC

I have an Alpinestars Breeze full mesh jacket in size XL. According to A I needed their RC universal back protector. Bought one in size L and installed it no problem. Unfortunately, it felt like a wooden plank and had zero give. This was made the jacket fit badly and made me think more about where the back protector was sliding around versus what was in front of me.Returned it and bought the Bioarmor insert for the same price. Although this model is not advertised for my older style jacket, the size medium fits just fine and stays in place. This insert is much thinner than the RC and is much more pliable. The comfort level is inifintely better than the RC and I all but forget it's back there.I wish A would just include a decent back protector with their jackets instead of making you pay an additional 30. The wimply foam pad that comes with their jackets is all but useless.

I went ahead and bought this online based on the Motorcyclist Review. It's my fault that I didn't call andor try to get measurements other reviewers had the same issues. I guessed and bought a large and it's way too big for the slot in my jacket, although it will almsot fit in my wife's jacket, which has a larger pocket. I may cut it to fit. For those wanting to know, the large is about 10 across at the top and 7 across at the bottom. Total length is about 19. If I had an Alpinstars jacket, presumably the match would have worked. Now I've had it around too long to return. My rating is that I think it's okay, but I don't recommend buying it unless you know it'll fit or you can buy it in person to make sure.
