The summer riding season is here and when you’re riding in summer heat, mesh gear is definitely the way to go. Tourmaster has a number of different items in their line of mesh gear. From jackets, to pants, to gloves, you could construct an entire mesh riding suit that’s going to keep you cool and protected in even the warmest riding conditions.

Jackets

Draft Air 2

Tourmaster currently has three mesh jackets in their line-up: The Tourmaster Draft Air 2, the Tourmaster Intake Air Series 2, and the Tourmaster Sonora Air Mesh Jacket. All three of these jackets have qualities that make them stand out, but they also have core similarities that tie them together. Each of these Tourmaster jackets have been constructed with an armor link mesh material combined with 600 Denier Carbolex. The Intake Air Series 2, and the Sonora Air take their durable construction a step further by adding 1680 Denier ballistic polyester over impact areas. Each jacket has a mandarin style collar lined with a comfortable microfiber; the cuffs of the jackets are lined in microfiber as well. The interior of the jackets have been lined with Tourmaster’s removable, AquaTherm, two-stage liner. The first ‘stage’ is a waterproof/ windproof liner; the second is an insulation liner that can be added for extra warmth during cooler riding conditions. For safety, each Tourmaster mesh jacket has removable CE approved armor placed in the shoulders and elbows, as well as an articulated triple density back protector.  For storage, each jacket has several options. All three have hand warmer pockets, an internal pouch, and a mobile media pocket. The Intake Air and the Sonora go a step further by adding a zippered, chest map pocket. Adjustable Velcro sleeve tabs have been placed at the forearms and bicep areas to secure the elbow armor and any extra material to reduce flapping. Another fit adjustment feature is the waist belts with TPR pulls. These belts help to fine tune the fit of the jacket according to your own preference and comfort level. Each of these mesh jackets has a jacket to pants connection zipper attachment, as well as 360 Phosolite piping for increased visibility. These three Tourmaster jackets vary in terms of pricing, with the Draft Air 2 at the lower end of the spectrum, and the Sonora Air at the higher end. But, regardless of the price, each of these mesh jackets is a great summer jacket option. The Intake Air and the Sonora Air are also available in a women’s version.

Pants

Mens Venture Air Pants

Tourmaster has included two pants in their mesh line as well; The Tourmaster Venture Air Pants, which come in both a Mens and Womens fit, and the Tourmaster Mens Tracker Air Pants. Both have an Armor link mesh shell, however, the Venture Air Pants have 1680 Denier Ballistic Polyester knee panels, and the Tracker Pants have 600 Denier Carbolex knee panels. Both pants have been incorporated with seat panels as well. Depending on the level of protection you want will dictate which option is best for you, but both selections offer comfort, durability, and abrasion resistance. As an added safety feature, the Tracker pants have removable, CE approved knee armor. Another differing factor between the Venture Pants and the Tracker Pants is that the Tracker pants feature removable, zip off lower legs for an easy conversion from pants to casual shorts.

Mens Tracker Air Pants

The interior of the Tracker Air pants are lined with a removable, lightweight, wind-proof liner; the lining of the Venture Air pants is slightly more elaborate. The Venture has a removable, 2-stage AquaTherm liner that consists of a water/wind proof liner, and an insulation liner for extra warmth when riding in colder conditions. Aside from their differences, these two Tourmaster mesh pants options also have some similar attributes. Both have a double stitched construction, Phosolite reflective piping for increased visibility, and a dual-elastic panel waistband with adjustable waist belts to give you the best custom fit possible. Both pants also have ‘accordion-style’ expansion panels at the rear waist for flexibility. For increased flexibility, the Tracker pants have stretch material in the in-seam that provides a performance fit, and decreases any sensations of binding. For storage, both sets of pants have zippered hand pockets, but the Tracker Air pants go a step further by adding two cargo pockets. If you’re looking for pants that will connect to your new Tourmaster mesh riding jacket, the Venture Air has an 8in pant/jacket attachment.

Gloves

The Tourmaster Dri-Mesh Gloves and the Tourmaster Intake Air Mesh Gloves will provide your hands with plenty of airflow and protection while you ride. Both gloves are made of a combination of abrasion resistant Armor link mesh with perforated goat skin, leather accents, and stretch Lycra forchettes. This combination of materials and the addition of a hook and loop wrist closure make for a well vented and secure cuff. The Intake Air Mesh Gloves also have perforated goat skin in knuckle and wrist panels, complete with Carbolex covered EVA foam knuckle padding and wrist armor. Tourmaster’s use of a goat skin palm and light EVA foam in their mesh gloves greatly reduces shock and vibration. Both the palm and the fingers of the gloves have been pre-curved to improve comfort, dexterity, and help reduce hand fatigue. The Dri-Mesh Gloves stay true to their name by using a waterproof, breathable, internal barrier that allows the passage of air and perspiration while still remaining watertight.
