The Air Pro Mesh Jacket from Shadow Distributing is hard to miss, thanks to its generous use of reflective piping and neon yellow and high-viz orange color options (silver is also available, if you prefer). Styled after much more expensive, name brand jackets, this ¾ length summer touring jacket will really surprise you with just how much the Air Pro offers with its low price-tag. Firstly, the Shadow Air Pro Mesh Jacket is made from a quality nylon mesh weave, which allows plenty of air to flow right through the jacket, keeping you cool on the hottest of days. In addition, the Air Pro includes a removable waterproof breathable liner. This liner can be worn to extend the useable range of the jacket to cooler months, or to keep you dry in the rain. One nice touch they have made with the liner is it’s lined with a softer nylon material. This not only makes it easier to slide the jacket on and off, it also prevents you from feeling like you are wearing a plastic bag (something that happens often with cheaper waterproof liners). Another nice touch is the soft lining on the collar of both the jacket and liner, a welcome feature for long distance riders. For a custom fit, the Shadow Distributing Air Pro Jacket has Velcro adjustment straps at the midsection which can take up any extra material. There are also snap sleeve take ups on the arms that help keep the armor in the right place. The armor in the Air Pro jacket is CE approved for the shoulders, elbows, and back, and is quite substantial. The jacket also has nylon overlays on the shoulders and elbows for extra abrasion resistance. Storage space consists of four large cargo pockets on the front of the jacket, two zippered hand warmer pockets, and a large lower back compartment that can be used to store the waterproof liner. Overall the Shadow Air Pro Mesh Jacket is an amazing value for the price. The comfort and protection that it offers is equivalent to much more expensive, name brand jackets.
