Haga is a veteran around the WSBK circuit. He has raced in 11 World Superbike seasons, and has never finished a season lower than 7th place. Haga has claimed 4 third place finishes during his 11 years in World Superbike, and was the runner up on three different occasions. Haga was disappointed with his 6th place finish in 2010, but hopes that with the help of Aprilia, he’ll be able to return to the top.
The Pata Aprilia team doesn’t have factory backing, but they are starting with a proven motorcycle. Haga will be riding the 2010-spec Aprilia RSV4R, the same bike Max Biaggi used to dominate the 2010 WSBK season. Biaggi claimed 10 race wins last year, and a total of 17 podium finishes aboard the Aprilia RSV4R.
“I immediately accepted Daniele Carli and Marco Borciani’s offer,” said Haga. “I will be provided with a highly competitive motorbike, the one that belonged to the world champion 2010. With this I think I will be able to aim for the first places at every race. Throughout my career I achieved a lot, but I’m still not satisfied. I dream of winning the world title and isn’t written that I can’t do it on this motorcycle. For sure, on paper, officials teams have an advantage, but Aprilia has already shown its willingness to give the greatest support to a racer fighting for a big goal.”
This isn’t the first time Haga has raced with Aprilia. Haga first raced with Aprilia in 2002 aboard an RSV1000R and finished fourth in the World Superbike series.
