Jorge Lorenzo claimed the 2010 MotoGP title weeks ago, but the title just seemed to make the Fiat Yamaha rider more aggressive. Lorenzo capped his amazing 2010 MotoGP season with another race victory, giving him a total of 9 wins this year.
Lorenzo ended up winning the race by a margin of more than 4 seconds, beating out Casey Stoner and teammate Valentino Rossi. Stoner and Rossi will both be with new teams next year, and both were happy to give their teams one final podium finish.
Stoner, who is moving on from Ducati after four years, led for the majority of the race. It wasn’t until the 22nd lap that Lorenzo was able to move into the lead, but once he did, the Fiat Yamaha rider slowly pulled away from the pack.
Rossi finished another 4 seconds behind Stoner, but was able to secure the third place spot on the overall leader board. It’s been a rough season for Rossi, who has been in and out with injuries. But Rossi was still able to give the Fiat Yamaha team one last podium finish, and one last season podium before signing off.
Ben Spies was able to hold onto fourth place after a tough battle with Andrea Dovizioso, and Marco Simoncelli finished in 6th. Dani Pedrosa finished in 7th place, earning enough points to keep his second place spot on the leader board.
